Judas takes place on the Mayflower, a city-sized colony ship carrying humanity toward Proxima after an artificial intelligence predicts an extinction event. The ship is disintegrating after a revolution, and its social order has collapsed. Judas is not an outsider arriving to investigate the wreck. She was born on the ship, has a long and mostly hostile history with its people, and helped cause the crisis now threatening everyone aboard.
Before the collapse, the Mayflower divided residents into compliant Pilgrims and dissenting Violators. Judas was a Violator who hacked the ship and exposed a more fundamental secret: its three leaders were robots. That revelation triggered a rebellion and left the colony in ruins. The ship’s AI later reprinted Judas and selected her to continue the Mission, placing her back inside the history she helped destroy.

The three leaders are Tom Austin, Nefertiti Okeke and Hope Jimenez. They are known together as the Big 3, and their reactions to Judas form the central social system. Because Judas already has history with the ship, encounters are framed as relationships with consequences rather than introductions to strangers.

Who are the Big 3, and what does each relationship represent?

Combat choices
How Judas fights is part of what the characters observe. Combat behavior can therefore contribute to a relationship pattern instead of being isolated from the narrative. The available descriptions do not specify which weapons, targets or tactics each leader prefers, so a precise combat morality chart would be speculation.
Hacking
Hacking is particularly significant because Judas’ original rebellion began with a hack that exposed the Big 3. Further hacking actions are expected to be read in the context of that history. Who can become the villain in Judas?

A villain is more than a character who dislikes Judas. Villainy gives the alienated leader a new suite of powers for working against her. That can let the antagonist interfere with objectives that would otherwise be straightforward, turning social neglect into an ongoing threat. The exact powers, their timing and their branch-specific presentation have not been fully disclosed.
This structure also means that a villain may be a consequence of omission rather than a deliberate betrayal. If Judas repeatedly gives one person attention while leaving another out, the neglected character can become dangerous without a single dramatic “choose whom to betray” prompt.
Do your choices change the characters in Judas?

Why the relationship system matters to the story
Judas’ premise already gives every relationship a shared wound. Judas exposed the Big 3, the rebellion destroyed the Mayflower’s order, and the AI returned her to finish the Mission. Tom must rebuild authority, Nefertiti is reconsidering what counts as human progress, and Hope is confronting the possibility that affection for her was programmed. Their reactions are therefore tied to the central questions of identity, duty and trust.
Villainy connects those themes to play. The person Judas fails to understand can become the person with the power to obstruct her. That makes the social story consequential without reducing it to a single moral choice. It also explains why the developers emphasize the feeling of losing a friend: the cost of a branch is meant to be a relationship that the player allowed to change.
