Can you add a permanent number row to the iPhone keyboard?
Apple’s documented keyboard settings cover typing options, languages and layouts, but do not include a general setting that pins digits above the standard English letter keys. What are the practical alternatives?
Use the built-in keyboard for arbitrary numbers
For numbers that vary each time, the Numbers key is the native iPhone method. It requires a tap to change keyboard layouts, but works without installing anything or carrying extra hardware.

Use Text Replacement for a recurring string
If you often type the same code or number sequence, Text Replacement can expand a short shortcut into saved text. It does not create number keys or a visible row, and it is not a substitute for entering changing numbers. Apple explains setup in its Text Replacement guide.
Connect a physical keyboard for dedicated number keys
A compatible Bluetooth keyboard with dedicated number keys lets you type digits on physical keys while using iPhone. It is a hardware workaround, not a change to the onscreen keyboard, and requires carrying and connecting a separate device. Apple documents using a physical keyboard with iPhone.
Consider another keyboard app only after checking its iPhone features
iOS supports custom keyboard extensions, but their availability is limited: Apple says custom keyboards are not available in secure text fields or phone number fields. Google’s official Gboard setup instructions for iPhone and iPad explain installation and configuration, but do not verify a persistent number-row option for iOS. An Android setting or feature description is not evidence that the same option exists on iPhone. Apple’s custom keyboard guidance describes these restrictions.

How to add or switch keyboard layouts
If you type in another language, iPhone lets you add keyboards, switch between installed keyboards and select available layouts for a language. These options change the language or layout you type with; Apple does not document them as a universal control for pinning a number row above the standard English keyboard.
