To verify an ordinary SoundCloud account, confirm an email address in Settings: click the confirmation link SoundCloud sends, or enter the six-digit code when changing the primary address. SoundCloud says control of the email used to create the account is its only way to verify ownership.
A public blue artist-verification badge is a separate process. The profile must meet SoundCloud’s identity, completeness and notability requirements, and SoundCloud-hosted guidance currently says new badge applications are paused. The two processes use different evidence and appear in different places, so complete the email check first and treat badge availability as a separate, changeable status.

What does “verify my SoundCloud account” mean?
People use “verification” for two different SoundCloud actions. Email verification proves that you can receive messages at an address connected to the account. Artist verification places a public badge on an eligible profile after SoundCloud reviews its identity and presentation.

Confirming an email does not automatically create a blue badge, and a badge request does not replace the need to control the account’s signup email.

How do I verify my SoundCloud email account?
Use the email confirmation flow in Settings. The process is normally complete as soon as you open SoundCloud’s message and follow its confirmation instructions.
- Sign in to SoundCloud. Open your account Settings.
- Add an address or select the address you want to make primary. Check every character before saving it.
- Open the confirmation email. For a newly added address, SoundCloud sends a message containing a confirmation link. Open the message and click that link.
- Complete the one-time code prompt if you are changing the primary address. SoundCloud sends a six-digit one-time password to the current primary email. Enter the code in the Settings prompt.
- Return to Settings and confirm the status. The address should now be shown as confirmed or primary, depending on the action you performed.
The confirmation link establishes control of the address you added. The six-digit code protects a primary-address change by requiring access to the address that is already on the account.

Most missing-message cases come from a mistyped address, filtering by the mail provider or a message that was never resent. Work through these checks in order before trying account recovery.
- Check spam, junk and filtered folders. Search your mailbox for SoundCloud rather than relying only on the inbox view.
- Recheck the address in Settings. Look for missing characters, an incorrect domain or an old address that you no longer use.
- Use SoundCloud’s resend option. The resend control is available from the email-management area in Settings.
- Wait for the newest message. If several messages arrive, use the latest confirmation message so an older link does not cause confusion.
- Retry from Settings after correcting the address. If the wrong address was saved, edit it before requesting another message.
If you cannot receive mail at the account’s linked address, repeatedly requesting a new message will not prove ownership. Move to the recovery route instead.
How do I change the primary SoundCloud email?
Changing the primary address requires two different email checks: the new address must be confirmed, and SoundCloud may require a six-digit one-time password sent to the current primary address.

- Open Settings while signed in.
- Add the new email address, or select an existing confirmed address that you want to use.
- Open the confirmation message sent to the new address and follow its link.
- When SoundCloud asks for authorization to change the primary address, retrieve the six-digit code from the current primary email.
- Enter the code and verify that the new address is listed as primary.
Keep access to the old primary mailbox until the change is finished. It is the address SoundCloud uses for this authorization step, and losing it can turn a routine change into an ownership-recovery case.
How does SoundCloud verify that I own an account I cannot access?
SoundCloud’s stated ownership rule is narrow: “The only means we have of verifying the ownership of an account is the email address that was used to create the account.” If you cannot access that mailbox, support may ask for additional account history, but SoundCloud cannot grant access when it cannot verify ownership.
When contacting support about an inaccessible account, be ready to provide the information SoundCloud’s sign-in guidance lists:
- The email address linked to the account
- The account-creation date
- The date of your last sign-in
- The last IP address used to sign in
- Names or upload dates of private tracks
- Names of deleted tracks
- A new email address where support can contact you
These details are recovery evidence, not substitutes for control of the original signup email. Give consistent information and explain which mailbox is inaccessible; do not claim ownership of an address you cannot use.
How does two-factor authentication affect SoundCloud verification?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an additional security layer, not the same thing as confirming an email or receiving a blue artist badge. SoundCloud’s privacy policy describes email and SMS one-time passwords for 2FA, login verification, account recovery, password resets and other critical actions, depending on the account and territory.

A code prompt can therefore appear during a security-sensitive action even after an address has been confirmed. Use the channel SoundCloud presents for that account. If the code goes to an inaccessible email or phone, follow the account-recovery process rather than attempting to bypass the prompt.
How do I get the blue SoundCloud artist-verification badge?
The badge is intended for a public profile representing a well-known or highly searched-for artist, collective, DJ, label, curator or podcaster. It is separate from email confirmation and is assessed against the profile and the entity it represents.
Eligibility conditions SoundCloud describes
- Notability: The represented artist, group or entity should be well known or highly searched for.
- Unique representation: The profile must be a unique account owned by the person or entity it represents.
- Accurate conduct: The profile must contain no misleading information and must follow SoundCloud’s terms.
- Complete presentation: It needs a profile photo, a biography and at least one uploaded track.
Meeting these conditions does not guarantee approval. They describe the profile characteristics SoundCloud’s guidance says it looks for; the final decision remains with SoundCloud.
Is the badge application open now?
SoundCloud-hosted guidance currently states, “New applications are paused.” It also says the process is being updated and that pending applications cannot be processed during the pause. Because this status can change, check the current SoundCloud Help Center immediately before attempting to apply.

- Sign in to SoundCloud on a desktop browser.
- Open Settings.
- Select Request Verification.
- Enter the artist or entity name represented by the profile.
- Provide links to social profiles, an official website or other external evidence that helps establish the identity.
Use links that clearly correspond to the same artist or organization named in the profile. A completed profile and outside identity evidence support the request, but neither email confirmation nor an Artist Pro subscription is, by itself, evidence that the badge will be granted.
What is the practical difference between the two verification routes?
Choose the route based on the problem you are solving: access and account security require email control; public identity signaling requires an eligible profile and an available badge-review process.

- Using an address you cannot access: SoundCloud’s ownership decision depends on control of the signup email, and primary-address changes use the current primary mailbox for the code.
- Ignoring mailbox filtering: Spam and junk folders can hide the confirmation message.
- Requesting a badge during the pause: Current guidance says new applications are paused and pending requests cannot be processed.
- Leaving the profile incomplete: The badge guidance calls for a photo, bio and at least one track, in addition to identity and notability requirements.

You cannot submit a new request while the application window is paused, but you can make the profile ready for the next opening.
- Use the unique profile that is actually owned by the represented artist or organization.
- Add a current profile photo, a clear biography and at least one track.
- Remove misleading profile information and check compliance with SoundCloud’s terms.
- Collect matching social-profile and website links that identify the same entity.
- Confirm that the account’s signup email is accessible so ownership questions do not block account control.
- Recheck SoundCloud’s current Help Center status before submitting, since the pause is explicitly described as temporary and subject to process updates.
Preparation improves the completeness of a future request, but it cannot create eligibility where notability or unique ownership is absent.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I verify a SoundCloud account without access to its original email?
SoundCloud says it cannot grant access when it cannot verify ownership. Support may request account-history details, but those checks do not guarantee recovery if the original signup address cannot be verified.
Does confirming my email make my profile searchable or popular?
Email confirmation is an account-security step. It does not establish any ranking, discovery or audience-growth benefit.
Can a label or collective request a SoundCloud badge?
SoundCloud’s badge guidance includes labels and collectives among the profile types that may qualify. The account still has to be a unique profile owned by the represented entity and satisfy the other stated conditions.
