Open the wearable’s companion app to find its saved conversations, review the available audio or text, and look for export and delete controls. The exact menu names, export formats, retention rules, and effects of deletion depend on the device and service: removing a visible note may not remove every audio file, transcript, summary, or other copy. If you need a copy, export it and check that it opens before deleting anything. This guide uses Ruune and Limitless as documented examples, not as universal instructions for every AI wearable voice recorder.
Where do I find a conversation recorded by my AI wearable?
Start in the companion app associated with the wearable. Saved items may appear under labels such as notes, recordings, history, or a date-based list; the exact location varies by product. A wearable may record locally for a time and then synchronize an item to the account, so the app is usually the first place to check for the conversation, transcript, export, and deletion controls.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Open the companion app and sign in to the account used for recording.
- Look for the section containing saved notes, recordings, or conversation history.
- Browse by date or open a likely item. Search and filters may exist, but they are not universal features.
- Open the item and check its date, title, participants, or first lines so you know it is the conversation you mean to manage.
If the item is missing, check that you are signed into the right account and that the wearable has finished syncing. Check another signed-in device only if the provider says your data synchronizes across devices; do not infer that a delay means the recording was erased. Also consider whether the device was in a mode that does not retain raw audio. Ruune, for example, describes a Privacy Mode that keeps a transcript while automatically deleting audio after processing.
When an item still cannot be found, consult the product’s current help information or support channel. App labels, synchronization behavior, and retention settings can change with updates, and a recording made while offline may not appear until the app reconnects.

What should I check before exporting or deleting a conversation?
First determine what the app has saved for that conversation. Audio, a transcript, and an automatically generated summary can be separate items with different retention behavior. A screen showing a written note does not prove that the original audio is still present, and a playable clip does not prove that every transcript or summary will be included in an export.
- Audio: the playable recording, if the service retains one. Check whether playback is available from the item itself.
- Transcript: text recognized from the conversation. Look for a transcript tab, text panel, or download description.
- Summary or note: an AI-generated recap, title, action list, or other written output.
- Metadata: dates, titles, labels, participants, or sharing information that may be shown separately from the content.
Open the conversation and see which of these are available. Then read the wording in the export or deletion control and any confirmation dialog. Note whether the control refers to a “note,” “recording,” “conversation,” or “account,” because those labels can describe different scopes. Do not assume that deleting a displayed note also deletes its audio or transcript, or that a single-item delete has the same effect as deleting an account.

If the conversation is important, record the item’s title and date and take note of any privacy setting that affected capture. This makes it easier to identify the right item if several conversations have similar names. Avoid editing or sharing the item until you have confirmed which copy you intend to retain.
How do I download or export a recording?
Open the conversation in the app and look for an item menu, export option, or download control. Export formats and whether an export contains audio, text, or both depend on the service. Some controls export the visible note rather than the underlying audio, so treat the format description as significant.
- Open the conversation you want to keep.
- Choose the app’s export or download control, then select a format if one is offered.
- Save the file somewhere private that you can access later. Use a location with enough storage and access protection for sensitive speech.
- Open the saved file and confirm it contains the material you need before deleting the app’s copy.
- If you need audio, test playback rather than assuming a text file or PDF contains an audio track.
Ruune documents one concrete example: open a note, tap the three-dot menu, and choose Export. Its support center lists PDF, Markdown, and plain text as export formats. Those are Ruune-specific options, not a standard for AI wearable apps; its documentation does not establish that those text-oriented formats include the original audio. See the Ruune Support Center for its current instructions.
Exporting is a duplication step, not a deletion step. The app copy remains until you remove it, and the exported file becomes another copy to protect. If a conversation contains private or sensitive information, choose a storage location accordingly and consider who can access it. Do not upload the file to a shared folder or send it to another person unless that is part of your purpose and the service’s sharing controls are understood.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesHow do I know an export is complete?
Open the file on the device where you saved it and inspect its contents. Confirm that the expected date, title, transcript text, summary, and any required audio are present. If the app offers several formats, compare the format description with what you actually need. Keep the original item until this check is finished; otherwise, a failed or partial export may leave you without a usable copy.

How do I delete one conversation without deleting my account?
Use the delete control for the individual item, not the account-level deletion setting. Before confirming, read what the service says will be removed and whether that applies to audio, transcript, summary, and synced copies.
- Open the conversation and verify that it is the right one.
- Open its item menu or settings and choose the delete option.
- Review the confirmation message for the stated scope and timing, then confirm only if it matches what you intend.
- Return to the list and check whether the item is no longer shown on your device or other signed-in devices.
- If the service provides a deletion confirmation, save it with your records.
A disappearing item in the app is not, by itself, proof that every stored or shared copy has been erased. The available product guidance does not establish a universal rule for backups or legally retained information; check the provider’s current privacy and retention terms if those copies matter to you. A person who received an export or shared note may also have a separate copy outside your account.
What Ruune says about deleting a note
Ruune’s support center says to open a note, tap the three-dot menu, and select Delete. It describes note deletion as permanent and says it propagates across devices within seconds. These are Ruune’s stated product behaviors, not a general promise about other services. Its support page was accessed October 25, 2026: https://www.ruune.ai/support.
Recommended Free Tools
“Permanent” in that product description means you should not proceed expecting an undo button. Export first if you may need the note later, and verify the exported file before confirming deletion. The stated cross-device timing also applies to Ruune’s description; another service may synchronize or process deletion differently.
How is deleting an account different from deleting a conversation?
Account deletion can cover a wider set of data than deleting one conversation and may follow a different timeline. Treat it as a separate decision: check the service’s description of what it removes, when removal completes, and what happens to any subscription. Account deletion may also affect conversations you did not intend to remove, so use it only when you mean to close the account or erase its broader data set.
Ruune documents account deletion at Settings → Account → Delete account. The company says this removes recordings, transcripts, summaries, and the profile within 30 days, and cancels an active subscription. This 30-day period applies to Ruune’s account-deletion description; it should not be read as a general retention deadline or as the timeline for deleting an individual note. Consult the Ruune Support Center for the current product details.
Before choosing an account-level control, export any records you are entitled to keep, review subscription implications, and make sure you are acting in the intended account. Do not assume that deleting the app from your phone deletes the account or its server-side data; an app uninstall and an account-deletion request are different actions unless the provider explicitly says otherwise.

Can I keep a transcript but remove the audio?
That depends on the service’s retention controls. Do not infer from a transcript being visible that the underlying audio has already been removed, or from deleting audio that a transcript or summary has also been removed.
Ruune describes a setting called Privacy Mode that keeps the transcript and automatically deletes audio after processing. This is a Ruune-specific behavior. If your app offers a similar setting, read its description carefully to understand what remains, whether summaries are retained, and when the audio is deleted; do not assume that other services work the same way.
A setting that removes audio after processing is different from deleting an existing note. It may apply only to recordings made while the setting is enabled, while older items continue to follow their original retention behavior. Confirm the setting’s scope in the provider’s current instructions before relying on it for a particular conversation.
What happens when other people are recorded?
A wearable may capture nearby speech, not only the wearer’s own voice. Check the device’s recording indicator and follow the product instructions and requirements that apply where you are; an indicator should not be treated as a complete answer to consent or legal questions. Recording laws vary by jurisdiction and situation, so a product’s terms are not a substitute for local legal advice.
For its Pendant, Limitless says a white LED is on while it records. Its Help Center states: “When the Pendant is recording, a white LED light on the device is on to let people around the wearer know the Pendant is on and recording audio.” The same article says the company’s Terms of Service require wearers to notify people and obtain consent before recording. Nearby speech may be captured as audio, transcript, and a short summary. These are Limitless-specific statements, not a complete description of recording law. Read the company’s Help Center explanation and applicable local requirements.
If someone objects, pause or stop recording and follow the device’s method for confirming that capture has ended. Do not rely solely on a later deletion request to resolve a consent concern: stopping capture early can prevent additional speech from being collected, while deletion controls address data already stored.
Limitless says users who made recordings control whether to keep or delete recordings and notes, and whether to share them; it also says retention primarily depends on user choices and that the service may retain information as allowed by its Privacy Policy. The company’s Help Center summarizes this position as: “The audio recordings and notes belong to the user who made them—the users control whether to keep or delete the recordings and whether to share them with others.” Those statements do not establish how every shared, synced, or retained copy is handled in every situation, so check the service’s current privacy terms for the specific case.

Which action should I choose?
Use the control that matches the scope of what you want to change. The consequences and timing below are documented only where a named provider states them; otherwise, consult that service’s app and policy.
| Action | Scope | What is established here | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Review | One conversation | Lets you inspect the item before changing it. | Whether the app presents audio, transcript, summary, metadata, or some combination. |
| Export | A saved copy of an item | Ruune lists PDF, Markdown, and plain text for note exports. | Which formats your app supports, what content each contains, whether audio is included, and where the file is saved. |
| Delete a note or recording | Usually one item | Ruune says note deletion is permanent and propagates across devices within seconds. | Whether audio, transcript, summary, synced copies, shared copies, or other stored copies are covered. |
| Delete an account | Account data, potentially beyond one item | Ruune says recordings, transcripts, summaries, and profile are removed within 30 days, and an active subscription is canceled. | The provider’s scope, timing, exceptions, subscription effects, and any confirmation it provides. |
| Automatic audio deletion after processing | Audio for recordings governed by that setting | Ruune says Privacy Mode keeps the transcript and deletes audio after processing. | Whether your service offers this control, when it applies, and what text or derived data remains. |
The most important comparison is not simply “keep” versus “delete.” Consider (1) whether you are changing one note or the whole account, (2) which data types are affected, (3) whether the change is immediate or subject to a stated period, (4) whether an export is text-only or includes audio, (5) whether synced or shared copies persist, and (6) whether an automatic setting changes future recordings. If a provider does not explain backup erasure or legal-retention exceptions, ask support rather than assuming either outcome.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How can I protect an exported or retained conversation?
Treat an export as sensitive personal data. Save it in a private location with access controls, avoid unneeded duplicate copies, and remove old exports when they are no longer necessary. If you share a transcript or summary, tell the recipient whether it contains identifiable voices or confidential details. A provider’s in-app deletion cannot remove a file that another person has already downloaded.
Review the service’s privacy settings for future recordings. A mode that deletes raw audio after processing can reduce the number of copies, but it may not remove transcripts, summaries, or exports created earlier. Company statements about encryption or model training also have a defined scope: Ruune, for example, says recordings are private to the user’s account, encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.3, and that audio is not used to train third-party AI models. Those are Ruune’s statements, not independent audit findings, and they do not change the need to control exported files.
How can I avoid common mistakes?
- Do not delete before checking the export. Open the file and confirm it contains what you need while the original is still available.
- Do not treat a note as the whole recording. The app may handle audio, transcript, summary, and metadata separately.
- Do not confuse item deletion with account deletion. One targets a conversation; the other may affect a broader set of account data.
- Do not assume a sync delay or deletion timeline. Use the provider’s stated timing rather than applying one product’s behavior to another.
- Do not overlook people nearby. Follow device indicators, product requirements, and applicable local rules when capturing speech.
- Do not assume uninstalling the app erases server data. Look for the provider’s explicit account or item-deletion control.
- Do not overlook copies you shared. An export or shared note can remain outside the wearable service.
App labels and policies can change as services update. If the result matters—for example, you need to remove a particular type of data—use the provider’s current documentation or support channel to confirm the scope before acting. Keep a record of any confirmation, date, or support response when you need to demonstrate what you asked the service to remove.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I restore a conversation after deleting it?
The product guidance described here does not establish a general recovery or undo option. If you deleted something by mistake, check the app for a recently deleted or archive area and contact the provider promptly rather than assuming a recovery window exists.
Will a PDF export include the original audio?
That is not established by the Ruune support details, which list PDF, Markdown, and plain text without specifying audio inclusion. Check the exported file itself and the app’s format description before relying on it as an audio backup.

Does deleting a conversation also delete its transcript?
Not necessarily. Audio, transcript, and summary can have separate retention behavior. Read the service’s deletion description for the specific item and verify what disappears after deletion; do not infer the scope from the note’s disappearance alone.
How do I download a recording from my AI wearable?
Open the companion app, select the conversation, and use its export or download control. Choose a format if offered, save it privately, and open the saved file to confirm whether it contains audio, text, or both. The exact control and formats vary by service.

Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →How can I confirm a provider has erased all copies?
A note disappearing from the app does not establish the status of every backup, shared copy, or retention exception. Ask the provider what confirmation it can give for the specific data types and account involved, and retain any support response or deletion confirmation you receive.
Is deleting the app the same as deleting my account?
Usually you should treat them as different actions unless the provider explicitly says otherwise. Uninstalling a phone app removes local software; use the service’s account-deletion control to request removal of account data and check its stated timeline.
Can I record someone wearing or talking near my wearable?
A wearable can capture nearby speech. Follow the device’s recording indicator, the provider’s terms, and applicable local requirements. Limitless says its Pendant shows a white recording LED and requires wearers under its Terms of Service to notify people and obtain consent; that is not a complete statement of recording law everywhere.
The Bottom Line
Use the companion app to review the exact item, export and verify any copy you need, then choose item deletion, an audio-retention setting, or account deletion according to the scope you intend. Audio, transcripts, summaries, synced copies, and shared exports may not follow the same rules, so rely on the provider’s current descriptions rather than assumptions.
