To redeem a Minecraft promotion, use the official redemption route named by the offer: enter a 25-character (5×5) code at the Minecraft code redemption page, sign in to the active Microsoft account that should own the reward, and confirm the content. A 10-digit code uses the separate Xbox code-redemption route. After a character-creator promotion succeeds, open Minecraft’s Dressing Room to equip the item. Which Minecraft promo-code route should I use?
Start by matching the code format and offer instructions, rather than trying every redemption page. Minecraft’s official page covers game codes, Minecoins, Realms Plus, promotional character items, partner promotions, experience rewards and other game products, while the format determines the main path.
- 25-character code: Use the official Minecraft redemption page. This is the normal 5×5 entry flow.
- 10-digit code: Follow the separate Xbox code-redemption route identified by Minecraft’s redemption instructions. Do not add characters or try to force a 10-digit code into the 5×5 form.
- Offer with no code: Read the purchase terms. Some qualifying Nintendo or PlayStation store and in-game Marketplace purchases place a promotional character item in the Dressing Room automatically.
Before entering anything, check the promotion’s geography, qualifying purchase, account or platform conditions and deadline. The date printed for one offer is not a general expiry date for every Minecraft code. A code for a game, Minecoins, Realms Plus, an experience reward or a character item may have different eligibility rules even when all are advertised as Minecraft promotions.

What to have ready
- The complete code, card, receipt, email or sender’s message.
- The Microsoft account that should permanently receive the content.
- Proof of purchase and the retailer or partner name in case delivery fails.
- The edition, platform and region named in the offer terms.
If a family shares a console or browser, decide whose Microsoft account should own the reward before signing in. Entering the code while another person is signed in can attach the content to the wrong account.

How do I redeem a 25-character Minecraft code?
The official flow is short, but the Microsoft account choice is permanent enough to deserve a careful check. The reward is assigned to the account you use when you confirm it.
- Open the official page. Go to minecraft.net/en-us/redeem from a current browser.
- Enter the code exactly as supplied. Type the 25 characters from the card, receipt, email or message. Preserve every character and follow any formatting shown by the offer.
- Sign in to the intended Microsoft account. The redemption flow requires an active Microsoft account. If several people use the device, verify the account name before proceeding.
- Review the content. Confirm that the displayed game, add-on, Minecoins, subscription or promotional item is the one promised by the offer.
- Submit the redemption. Wait for the success confirmation before closing the page. Keep the code and purchase evidence until the reward is visible.
For a 10-digit code, stop at the format check and use the Xbox route specified by the official instructions instead of repeating the 25-character steps. If an offer sends you to a platform store or says the item is delivered automatically, follow those terms rather than looking for a second code.
What happens after you click confirm?
A successful confirmation means the content has been claimed by the signed-in Microsoft account. It does not necessarily mean that every item appears in the same menu. Character-creator rewards are found in the Dressing Room, while a game or subscription may be associated with the account or platform identified by the offer. Read the success message and retain it, along with the transaction email, until you have checked the promised destination.
Do not submit the same code repeatedly while waiting for an item to synchronize. Repeated attempts cannot transfer a reward and may make it harder to tell whether the original redemption succeeded.

Where will my Minecraft reward appear?
Most character-creator promotions are not inventory blocks you have to download manually. Once the redemption succeeds, launch the relevant Minecraft edition, open the Dressing Room, select the character customization options and look for the promotional item.
Character items
Promotional character items appear in the Dressing Room, where you can equip them on a character. If the item does not appear immediately, verify that the game is using the same Microsoft account that received the redemption, then allow the service to synchronize before trying the troubleshooting steps below.
Check the item in the customization categories rather than assuming it will appear as a new world, pack or purchase. The offer may also require a particular edition or platform, so compare the in-game account with the platform named in the promotion.
Purchases that do not use a code
Minecraft’s support guidance says some qualifying purchases made through Nintendo or PlayStation stores, or through the in-game Marketplace, deliver the promotional character item directly to the Dressing Room. This applies only when the offer terms identify that purchase as qualifying; it is not a guarantee that every console purchase includes a promotion.
For these offers, look for the item after the purchase has completed and the account has synchronized. Searching for a missing code is unnecessary when the terms promise direct delivery. If the item is still absent, contact the platform or store that processed the purchase and keep the order confirmation.
Aurora Cape
The redemption page lists the Aurora Cape as an offer unlocked after completing the WatchTime Quest on Twitch or TikTok. Its terms state that it can be redeemed on Xbox and PC and played across platforms after redemption. Complete the required quest and follow the live offer instructions before expecting a code or an in-game item. The cross-platform statement applies after redemption; it does not remove the requirement to use an eligible account or complete the quest.

Where do I find my Minecraft redeem code?
The code’s location depends on how the promotion or purchase was delivered. Search the original transaction before asking for a replacement.
- Physical gift card: Look under the scratch-off panel. Reveal the code gently so every character remains readable. Keep the card even after redeeming it in case support needs identifying information.
- Digital purchase: Check the retailer’s order-confirmation email, delivery email and account order history. Search for the retailer name and the product or promotion title if the message is buried.
- Gifted code: Check the sender’s message or the channel they used to send the gift. Ask the sender to verify that the complete code was copied and that it was not already redeemed.
- Partner promotion: Read the sponsor’s instructions and the qualifying product’s packaging or receipt. A partner may issue the code separately from Minecraft.
Keep the receipt, order number, card packaging and original message. They establish where the code came from if the code is rejected or the promotion never arrives. Do not publish a full unused code in a forum, screenshot or support post; anyone who sees it may redeem it first.

Deadlines belong to individual offers. The official redemption page listed the following dates when these offers were published; confirm the live offer terms before relying on any date, because an offer can have additional territory or qualifying-purchase conditions.

These are offer deadlines, not a promise that an unrelated gift card or promotional code remains valid until the same date. Read the terms attached to your exact product, region and edition. Some offers can also require a purchase during a qualifying period, a specific retailer or completion of an activity before the final redemption date.
If you are buying a product mainly for its code, check the current offer page before paying. A set, cereal package or digital listing may look similar to a participating product without carrying the same promotion.
Why is my Minecraft redeem code not working?
Work through the checks in order. Most failures come from a mistyped character, the wrong Microsoft account, a code that was already used, a regional restriction or a card that was never activated.
1. Check confusing characters and re-enter the code
Type the code again from the original source and compare every character. Pay particular attention to characters that are easy to confuse, such as O and 0, or I and 1. Do not insert spaces, substitute similar-looking characters or use a code copied from an untrusted website. If the card uses groups, preserve the characters but enter them in the format the page requests.
2. Confirm the Microsoft account
Sign out if necessary and sign back in to the Microsoft account that should own the reward. If the code was already applied to another account, redeeming it again will not move the content; review your account order history and the account used by anyone who may have tried it.
Account ownership matters for family devices and shared browsers. Before contacting support, write down the account email or profile involved without posting it publicly, and check whether the reward is visible in that account’s Minecraft session.
3. Check whether it was redeemed already
Minecraft’s official FAQ states, “Codes can only be used once.” A code that was successfully claimed earlier will not work a second time, even if the item has not yet been equipped in the Dressing Room. Check order history and ask anyone who had access to the card whether they tried it.
4. Verify the purchase region
Minecraft gift cards must be redeemed in the region where they were purchased. A card bought for one market can fail when redeemed from a different region, so compare the card’s market and your account or redemption location before escalating the issue. This is especially important when giving a card to someone in another country.

5. Ask the retailer to activate a physical card
Some physical cards are inactive until the retailer completes the sale. Take the card and proof of purchase back to the retailer where it was bought and ask them to verify activation. Minecraft support cannot substitute for the store’s activation system. Do not discard the receipt after the retailer checks the transaction.
6. Rule out a browser or temporary service problem
Reload the page, clear the browser’s stored data, try another browser and retry later if the service may be experiencing an outage. Record the exact error message rather than repeatedly submitting the same code, and keep your receipt while you wait. A different browser can also help distinguish a local session problem from an invalid code.
7. Handle older Java-only cards separately
Minecraft says Java-only gift cards purchased before December 1, 2020 may require Minecraft Player Care assistance. Current Java & Bedrock bundle codes are redeemed through Microsoft Store, so an older Java-only card should not be treated as a current bundle code. Tell support the card type and purchase date when asking for help.

If a promotional code never arrived or needs replacement, check the promotion terms and contact the sponsor that issued it. Minecraft Player Care may not be able to distribute or replace codes supplied by a partner. The official support article explains the distinction at Minecraft Help. Include the qualifying product, retailer, purchase date and proof of purchase, but do not send an unused code in a public message.
When should I contact Minecraft or platform support?
Contact support after you have checked the code characters, account, region, activation and browser. Use the route that controls the failure:
- Minecraft redemption or account issue: Use Minecraft’s support guidance and include the exact error, offer name, account involved and proof of purchase.
- Retail activation issue: Return to the retailer that sold the physical card; ask them to confirm that the sale activated it.
- Partner promotion issue: Contact the sponsor named in the promotion terms first, because the sponsor controls delivery and replacement of its codes.
- Console-store purchase issue: Contact the relevant platform’s support route when the purchase was processed by that store and the offer promised direct delivery.

What support usually cannot fix
Support cannot turn an already-used code into a second claim or guarantee that a partner will issue a replacement. If another Microsoft account redeemed the code, explain the situation and provide order history, but the official instructions do not describe a transfer process. Likewise, a retailer must address an unactivated physical card, while a sponsor generally controls a missing partner code.

A Minecraft gift card or prepaid card is a legitimate way to obtain eligible content when you do not already have a code. Check the card’s region, edition, code type and current retailer terms before buying, especially if it is a gift. Confirm that the product is intended for the recipient’s market and that the card has not been scratched or exposed before purchase.
Participating LEGO Minecraft sets are another partner route: Minecraft lists a LEGO x Minecraft promotion in which the DLC code comes from the instructions inside qualifying sets. Verify the exact set and promotion terms; the presence of a Minecraft logo alone does not establish eligibility. Keep the instructions and purchase receipt until the DLC has been claimed.
Do not use websites or people promising free Minecoins. Minecraft’s Marketplace FAQ says there is no way to earn or obtain Minecraft Coins for free and warns that such offers may be scams. Never provide your Microsoft password or payment details to a site claiming it can generate free coins or redeem codes. A legitimate promotion identifies its sponsor, qualifying product and redemption instructions rather than asking for your login credentials.

Can Aurora Cape be used on a platform different from the one used for redemption?
