Yes—Fallen City Brawl supports two-player local co-op on one system. The campaign is a shared-screen beat ’em up for one or two players, not a native online multiplayer game. On Windows PC, connect both controllers before launch, choose NEW GAME or CONTINUE, have Player 2 press A, and select a character. Fallen City Brawl is a two-player, same-screen co-op campaign. Both fighters move through the same scrolling stage and fight together; the game does not divide the display into separate camera windows. Steam labels the feature “Shared/Split Screen Co-op,” but independent co-op listings identify the implementation as shared screen and mark divided split screen as unsupported.

How do I add Player 2 on PC?
The documented Windows sequence is short: connect the controllers before starting the game, enter the campaign, and join from the second controller.
- Connect both controllers first. Plug in USB pads or pair supported wireless gamepads before launching the Windows build. A USB PC game controller is the simplest choice for the second player.
- Launch Fallen City Brawl and choose NEW GAME or CONTINUE. The Player 2 join prompt appears from the campaign start flow rather than a separate online lobby.
- Press A on Player 2’s controller. The co-op guide identifies the A button as the join input. If the prompt does not respond, confirm that Windows and the game see the second pad before restarting.
- Select a character. Once Player 2 has joined, choose the second fighter and begin the stage together.
One player can use the keyboard while the other uses a gamepad, according to a launch-era first-impressions demonstration. The documented restrictions are that two people cannot share one keyboard-and-mouse setup, and an aggregator marks “controllers only” as unsupported; because the publisher has not published a matching restriction, a controller for Player 1 and a controller for Player 2 remains the safest configuration.

Which controller should you use on PC?
GOG lists controller support, and the Steam listing is described by a current Steam snapshot as having full controller support with a gamepad-recommended tag. The store feature list also includes Shared/Split Screen Co-op and Remote Play Together. Use a USB or Xbox-compatible PC gamepad with a clearly mapped A button for Player 2; no specific controller brand is required by the published setup instructions.
The Windows requirements are modest: Windows 10 or 11, an Intel Core Duo E6600 at 2.4 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, Intel 4400, Radeon HD 4650 or GeForce GT 8800 graphics, DirectX 11 and 2 GB of available storage. Steam and GOG list Windows builds; neither store page in the available specifications lists an official macOS or Linux version.
How does local co-op work on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2?
The Nintendo listing specifies Single system (1–2) and the feature label “Play together on one console.” That is two-player local campaign play, not an online mode. Nintendo Switch Online shown on the listing refers to Save Data Cloud, not online multiplayer.
- Start the game on the Switch or Switch 2 and choose the campaign.
- Connect or assign two controllers. In a docked or tabletop setup, the bundled Joy-Con pair can serve as two players when each Joy-Con is configured as an individual controller; two full-size pads are another option.
- At the campaign start, use the second controller when the game presents its Player 2 join prompt, then select the second character.
Nintendo marks the game as “Supported – Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch” on Switch 2. The listed download size is 225 MB on Switch and Switch 2, and the game supports TV, tabletop and handheld play modes. On Switch Lite, Nintendo warns that compatibility and play experience may differ and that additional accessories may be required, so two-player handheld play normally means bringing extra controllers and a way to support the console.

How do I start co-op on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5?
The PlayStation listing supports 1–2 players, offline play and local co-op. Sign in, connect a second DualShock 4 on PS4 or DualSense on PS5, start the campaign and use the on-screen Player 2 join prompt. The store listing does not publish a named button equivalent to the PC guide’s A input, so follow the prompt rather than assuming a specific face button.
No PlayStation Plus requirement is stated for this local/offline feature. A digital PlayStation purchase entitles the buyer to both the PS4 and PS5 versions. Both versions run the same two-player local concept on one console; they do not add native online co-op.
How do I play local co-op on Xbox?
Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC list Xbox local co-op (2–2) plus single-player support. Connect a second Xbox Wireless Controller, start the campaign and join as Player 2 when the game displays its prompt. On Xbox PC, use a supported PC gamepad for the second player.
Xbox Play Anywhere means one digital license covers the Xbox console and Windows PC versions. It does not turn the game into an online co-op title: local co-op still takes place on the device running the game with two controllers connected. The Xbox listing also notes Series X|S optimization, Smart Delivery, Handheld Optimized, 4K Ultra HD and 60 fps+, but those presentation and delivery labels do not change the two-player limit.

There is no native online multiplayer mode. Steam does not show an Online Co-op feature, co-op databases mark Online Co-Op and LAN/System Link as unsupported, Xbox capabilities list local co-op rather than Xbox online co-op, and Nintendo identifies the player count as Single system only. PlayStation similarly advertises offline local play rather than an online player count.
The one documented remote option is Steam Remote Play Together. It streams the host’s local session to a friend, so one Steam owner can run the game while the guest supplies remote input without buying a second copy. This is a host-streamed version of local shared-screen play, not dedicated netcode; connection quality and latency therefore depend on the host and guest network. It applies to the Steam build only. GOG’s DRM-free local version has no equivalent Remote Play Together flag, and the console versions have no documented counterpart.

Steam Remote Play Together checklist
- The host owns and launches the Steam version.
- The host starts the campaign and invites the friend through Steam’s Remote Play Together interface.
- Assign the guest a controller input slot, then use the normal Player 2 join prompt.
- Keep both players in the same shared camera view; Remote Play does not create a separate split-screen layout.
Does Fallen City Brawl run on Steam Deck?
A current Steam Deck verification snapshot lists the game as Verified. The cited criteria include access to all functionality with the default controller configuration, Steam Deck controller icons, legible in-game text and good performance at default graphics settings.
Verified status does not provide a second physical controller. For two people sharing one Deck, connect another compatible gamepad and use the same local join flow as on Windows. A single player can use the built-in controls; two-player sessions need two input devices.
What is the campaign and how long is it?
The official structure is seven stages with four playable characters. Combat includes combos, counters, air-throws, grappling, parries, special moves and RIOT supers, with weapons and support abilities layered into the stages. Store and fact-sheet pages do not publish a move list, button map, RIOT meter values or frame data, so exact attack commands must be learned from the in-game controls rather than an official public table.
HowLongToBeat’s entry on the GOG product page lists 0.5 h Main in 2026. That is a database estimate for a main clear, not a guaranteed co-op session length. One GOG owner review described a first clear of roughly 30–45 minutes and reported that Sgt. Clay felt substantially easier than Iron Jackson; that is one player’s experience, not a developer duration claim or a universal balance result.
Which platform is best for two-player play?
Choose based on where your second player is and which controllers you already own.

Every listed platform covers two people on the same system with one local copy. Steam Family Sharing and Nintendo family-group lending are listed license features; they do not create extra online player slots.

Prices and launch promotions vary by region and change quickly. Eastasiasoft announced a digital list price of US$14.99/€14.99 for consoles, with a 10% launch discount for a limited period. The following snapshots were checked in October 2026:

Physical editions are planned for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5, with the publisher saying they are expected to ship in November 2026. That announcement gave no more precise street date, and a live retailer listing was not confirmed in the available information. The Nintendo listing checked for this guide was digital.
An Xbox box is not currently planned. Creator Mike Wells answered on 28 October 2026: “Thanks for asking, physical version isn’t planned for Xbox currently.” Do not assume that an Xbox disc exists simply because the game is available digitally on Xbox One and Series X|S.

What should I check if Player 2 cannot join?
Most join failures come from input assignment or starting the game with a controller disconnected. Work through these checks in order.
- Reconnect before launch: close the game, connect both pads, then relaunch. The PC instructions specifically place controller connection before startup.
- Verify the second pad in the operating system: check Windows or the console accessory screen to ensure both devices respond independently.
- Use the correct input slot: Player 2 must press A on PC, or the button shown by the console prompt. Pressing keys on the first player’s device will not add a second slot.
- Enter the campaign first: select NEW GAME or CONTINUE before attempting to join; the documented PC flow does not add Player 2 from a separate online menu.
- Remove conflicting remappers: close other controller-mapping utilities if the game sees one pad twice or assigns both pads to Player 1.
- On Switch Lite, add hardware: Nintendo warns that additional accessories may be required, particularly when two people need separate controls in handheld play.
- For Remote Play Together, check the host: the host must own and run the Steam copy, invite the guest through Steam and assign the guest an input slot. Remote Play Together cannot add a player to a GOG or console copy.

Can two people play Fallen City Brawl with one keyboard?
The documented PC setup does not support two players sharing a single mouse-and-keyboard arrangement. Use two gamepads, or let one player use the keyboard while the other uses a controller; the latter configuration has been demonstrated by a launch-era playthrough.
Does the Switch version need Nintendo Switch Online for co-op?
No. The listing’s “Single system (1–2)” wording means both players are on the same console. Nintendo Switch Online is shown for Save Data Cloud on the listing, not as a requirement for this local mode.
Can I use Steam Remote Play Together with the GOG version?
