To make a League of Legends playlist, start with the official Riot Games Music catalog on Spotify or YouTube Music, choose a theme such as champion music, Worlds anthems, virtual artists, or Sessions, then create a playlist and add the tracks you find. Spotify has an Official League of Legends hub announced in its partnership with Riot, while YouTube Music lets you search official Riot uploads and save them to a playlist. Catalogs, controls, and regional availability can change, so treat the playlist as a curated selection rather than a guaranteed complete archive.

The important legal distinction is separate from the playlist mechanics: streaming a song for personal listening does not automatically give you permission to put it in a video or livestream. Riot designates certain tracks as creator-safe under its published guidelines; other music may require permission or a license.

What do I need before creating the playlist?

You need an account on Spotify or YouTube Music, an internet connection for the initial search, and a short list of the League music you want to collect. A free account can be enough to build a playlist, although playback, advertising, offline listening, and background-play rules depend on the service and plan you use.

  • Choose one service first. A playlist made in Spotify does not automatically appear in YouTube Music, and the reverse is also true.
  • Decide whether the list is for listening or for publishing content. Personal listening and reuse in a monetized video have different rights requirements.
  • Keep names flexible. Riot’s releases include champion themes, cinematic and esports songs, virtual-band projects, collaborations, and Sessions albums, so a title such as LoL instrumental focus is more useful than assuming every track belongs to one album.
  • Expect regional differences. A release can be visible in one country and unavailable in another because streaming rights differ.

Riot said in its 2019 music retrospective that more than 200 songs were available across streaming platforms at that time. That is a historical snapshot, not a current count, and it does not mean every song remains available on both services today.

Which service should I use: Spotify or YouTube Music?

Both services can hold a League of Legends playlist. Spotify has the clearest documented Riot partnership and an announced Official League of Legends hub; YouTube Music is convenient if your listening already centers on YouTube and official Riot uploads. The available announcements do not establish that either service has a larger current catalog.

Decision point Spotify YouTube Music
Finding official League music Spotify and Riot announced an Official League of Legends hub and curated playlists in 2020. Search Riot Games Music and individual releases as well. Search for official Riot Games Music uploads, album names, artists, or individual tracks. Current channel and playlist labels can vary.
Creating and editing a playlist Use the service’s current create-playlist control, then add tracks from search results or an album page. Button wording can change between mobile, desktop, and web. Use the current create-playlist and save-to-playlist controls. The exact menu label may differ by app version and device.
Catalog completeness Not established. Riot’s older announcements confirm distribution on Spotify but do not document a current, territory-by-territory catalog. Not established. A historical Riot announcement named YouTube among the services carrying its music, but availability can change.
Best fit Listeners who want the announced League hub, Spotify’s normal playlist workflow, or a playlist they already share there. Listeners who already use YouTube Music, prefer searching video-linked music, or want their League list alongside other YouTube listening.

Choose the service that works on the devices you already use and where your friends or collaborators can access the list. If a track is missing, search the other service rather than assuming the release was never official.

How do I make a League of Legends playlist on Spotify?

Use Spotify’s League hub or a direct search for Riot Games Music, then add the exact tracks you want to a new playlist. Spotify’s interface changes periodically, so the names below describe the action rather than promising one permanent button label.

  1. Open Spotify and sign in. The desktop app, web player, and mobile app all support playlists, but their menus are arranged differently.
  2. Open the official starting point. Search for League of Legends and look for Spotify’s Official League of Legends hub or playlists associated with Riot. The hub was announced in Spotify’s August 24, 2020 partnership news; its current layout may not match the announcement.
  3. Search the artist or release. Enter Riot Games Music, a champion name, a song title, a virtual artist, or a release such as a Worlds anthem. Search results can include user-made playlists, so inspect the artist and album information before adding a track.
  4. Create the playlist. Choose the create-playlist action from your library or playlist area, give the list a name, and add an optional description that identifies its theme and the date you last checked it.
  5. Add tracks. From a search result, album page, or track menu, select the option that adds the song to your new playlist. Repeat for each release; adding an entire album is faster when you want the album sequence intact.
  6. Verify the additions. Open the playlist and check the artist, version, and runtime. A song with a similar title may be a cover, remix, fan upload, or a different language version.
  7. Set the order and visibility. Drag tracks into the order you want, then use Spotify’s current privacy or sharing control to keep the list private, share it with a link, or make it visible to other listeners.

How can I use Spotify’s hub without losing my own theme?

Use the hub as a discovery shelf, not as your final organization. Add promising tracks to your playlist, then remove songs that do not match your intended mood. Spotify’s announcement described playlists inspired by the game and its esports community, so the hub may mix high-energy anthems, character music, and other formats rather than following one consistent listening arc.

What should I do when a Spotify track is unavailable?

Open the track’s album and artist pages to see whether another official version is listed. If it remains unavailable, note the title in your playlist description or a separate text list and check YouTube Music; do not replace it with an unverified upload simply to fill a gap.

How do I make a League of Legends playlist on YouTube Music?

On YouTube Music, search official Riot Games Music uploads and use the current playlist controls to create a list and save each result. Because the available information does not document a fixed set of current labels, follow the action names shown in your app rather than relying on an old screenshot.

  1. Open YouTube Music and sign in. Use the app or web interface associated with the account where you want the playlist stored.
  2. Search broadly first. Try Riot Games Music, then narrow the search with a track title, champion, album, Worlds event, or Sessions release.
  3. Check the source. Read the artist, album, and channel information attached to the result. Search can return commentary, lyric videos, covers, or fan uploads alongside official music.
  4. Create a playlist from the result or your library. Select the current option to save the song to a playlist, choose to create a new playlist, and enter a descriptive name.
  5. Continue adding songs. Save tracks one at a time or add a release when the app offers an album-level action. Confirm that the item is the audio version you want.
  6. Open the playlist editor. Reorder tracks, remove duplicates, and update the description. The location of these controls can differ between the mobile app and desktop web player.
  7. Share or keep private. Apply the playlist’s current privacy setting only after checking that it does not expose a draft list you intended to keep private.

Riot’s older retrospective named YouTube among the services carrying its music, but it did not promise identical catalogs or permanent availability. If a search produces no official result, try the exact album or artist name, remove punctuation, and check the other service.

What theme should I use for my League playlist?

A theme makes a long catalog easier to navigate and gives you a natural way to order the tracks. The following categories reflect the main types of Riot music described in its announcements and catalog pages.

Champion and region themes

Build a focused list around one champion, faction, or region. Instrumental themes work well for study or background listening; put the clearest character motif near the beginning so the playlist announces its subject immediately. If several versions of a theme exist, keep the one that matches the mood instead of adding every duplicate.

Virtual artists and collaborations

Riot has released vocal music through fictional or virtual acts and collaborations. A vocal-focused playlist can alternate energetic singles with slower tracks, while a single-act list can preserve the identity of that project. Use the artist and album fields to distinguish an official collaboration from a similarly named fan playlist.

Worlds anthems and esports releases

For workouts, gaming sessions, or event-day listening, group Worlds anthems and other esports songs together. Order them by intensity rather than release date if you want a continuous build; use chronological order when the playlist is meant to document tournament eras.

Sessions and relaxed background music

Riot describes Sessions as music developed with musicians for use in content under its posted guidelines. This makes Sessions a useful starting category for instrumental or low-distraction listening. The Sessions page describes the Star Guardian Taliyah release as a 29-track album; treat that figure as the description of that release, not as the size of the entire Sessions collection.

A mixed League favorites list

A mixed list is practical when you want one playlist for everyday listening. Start with three or four anchor tracks, then alternate vocal, instrumental, and cinematic material so that similar sounds do not cluster unintentionally. Add a short description such as champion themes, Worlds, and Sessions; checked October 2026 so you remember why each song is there.

How should I order, label, and maintain the playlist?

Good maintenance prevents duplicates and makes the list useful months after you create it. Treat the playlist as an evolving index of official releases rather than a claim that it contains every League song.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Choose an opening mood. Put a recognizable theme, a favorite anthem, or a calm instrumental first, depending on whether the playlist is for gaming, focus, or casual listening.
  2. Use a deliberate sequence. Alternate vocal and instrumental tracks, group songs by region, or create a gradual energy curve. Avoid changing the order randomly every time you add a release.
  3. Record the source category. Add a note in the description or use a naming convention such as Worlds, Champion, or Sessions when you maintain several lists.
  4. Remove duplicates and unofficial substitutes. Check artist and album fields before keeping two tracks with nearly identical names.
  5. Review after new releases. Search Riot Games Music periodically and compare the result with your theme. New additions may be region-locked or appear under a different album title.
  6. Keep a backup of the concept. Playlist services do not provide a universal export format. Saving the title, theme, and key track names in your own notes makes it easier to rebuild the list if an item disappears.

Do not label a playlist “complete” unless you have defined a narrow scope, such as “all tracks from one named album.” Riot’s historical figure of more than 200 songs and the continuing release categories show why a universal, permanent list is difficult to verify.

Can I use the playlist in a stream or video?

Not automatically. Playing music through Spotify or YouTube Music for your own listening is different from synchronizing that music with a stream, gameplay video, podcast, or monetized upload.

Arcane League Of Legends: Season Two (Original Score)
  • The dust has settled in Piltover but the Arcane is ever present

Riot’s Creator-Safe guidance says it designates a song as creator-safe only when players may use it in player-created content and monetize that content in accordance with the guidelines. Riot links to a Riot Games Creator-Safe Playlist on Spotify and a League of Legends Creator-Safe Playlist on SoundCloud. The designation belongs to the specific tracks and the stated conditions, not to every song in Riot’s broader catalog.

  • Check the current creator-safe list before publishing. Playlist contents and terms can change.
  • Do not infer permission from ownership or availability. Riot says music outside the creator-safe playlist generally requires permission or a license, and a recording can involve Riot plus external rights holders.
  • Follow monetization and attribution rules. Read the current Riot guidelines for the project, platform, and revenue model you intend to use.
  • Do not claim the audio through Content ID or a similar system. Riot’s guidance prohibits claiming creator-safe audio through those systems.

If your goal is simply to listen while playing, keep the playlist as a personal listening list. If you plan to broadcast or upload, build a separate list containing only tracks whose current creator-safe status and conditions you have verified.

What does Riot’s music catalog include?

League of Legends music is not one soundtrack with one fixed track count. Riot’s own descriptions show several release families, each suited to a different playlist purpose.

Catalog detail What the published figure means How to use it in a playlist
More than 200 songs Riot’s 2019 10-year music retrospective described over 200 songs available across streaming platforms at that time. It is not a current count. Use it as a reminder to search by category and release, not as a promise that one service contains every item.
Over 4.8 million monthly Spotify listeners Spotify reported this audience for the official League of Legends soundtrack in its August 24, 2020 partnership announcement. It is a historical metric. It explains why Spotify’s League hub is a useful discovery point, but it does not measure your playlist or current popularity.
29-track Star Guardian Taliyah Sessions album The Sessions page uses “29-track album” for that release; the page does not provide a publication date in the available material. Use the release as a relaxed, album-length source and decide whether to preserve its sequence.
26 orchestral works on a vinyl edition Riot’s 2019 retrospective described a physical edition containing 26 orchestral works and named iam8bit as a source. Search for the exact release if you collect physical media; do not assume current stock.

These figures describe particular announcements and releases. They should not be combined into a current catalog total, and they do not establish that every item is streamable in every country.

Why can’t I find a League song?

Missing results usually reflect search wording, regional licensing, a removed release, or a difference between an official recording and a fan upload. Work through the checks below before concluding that the song never existed.

  • Try the exact title without punctuation. Apostrophes, subtitles, and featured-artist names can change search results.
  • Search the artist and album separately. A track may be indexed under a virtual artist or a compilation rather than under the game title.
  • Check both services. Historical distribution across Spotify and YouTube does not guarantee simultaneous availability now.
  • Look for a regional notice. If the service identifies territory restrictions, there may be no legal workaround within that account.
  • Distinguish audio from video uploads. A YouTube video may exist while the corresponding YouTube Music or Spotify recording is unavailable.
  • Remove dead entries. Keep the title in a separate note if you want to remember it, but do not leave an unplayable item in the active listening sequence.

Because no current regional catalog audit is established, avoid promising readers that a particular service will contain a named song everywhere.

Is there a physical League of Legends soundtrack?

Riot’s 2019 retrospective described a vinyl edition containing 26 orchestral works and identified iam8bit as a source. That supports the existence of a collector release, but current stock, edition details, seller identity, and price are not established here.

If you are shopping, verify the exact title, pressing, condition, shipping region, and whether the listing is an authorized product. A vinyl record is a separate purchase from a Spotify or YouTube Music playlist and will not automatically add digital tracks to either service.

How can I make the playlist useful on different devices?

Keep the playlist’s structure simple enough to work on mobile, desktop, and web. Use a clear title, a short description, and an order that makes sense without relying on a particular screen layout. If you share it, send the playlist link from the service rather than screenshots, because screenshots do not update when tracks change.

For travel or unreliable connections, check the offline-listening terms of your own Spotify or YouTube Music plan. Offline availability, playback limits, and downloaded files are controlled by the service; they are not a property of Riot’s music catalog.

What is the safest workflow for a creator who also wants a personal playlist?

Maintain two separate lists. Put any song you enjoy in the personal listening playlist, then make a second production playlist containing only music that appears on Riot’s current creator-safe list and fits the published conditions for your content.

  1. Create the personal playlist using the Spotify or YouTube Music steps above.
  2. Before recording or streaming, open Riot’s current Creator-Safe guidance and its linked playlist.
  3. Copy only the tracks whose status and usage conditions you can confirm.
  4. Save a dated note of the guideline page and track list for your project records.
  5. Recheck the guidance before a later upload, because a playlist or policy can change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I move a Spotify League of Legends playlist directly to YouTube Music?

There is no universal cross-service playlist format described in the available official material. Re-create the list manually, or use a transfer feature offered by the services only after checking what data it imports and whether unavailable regional tracks are skipped.

How do I tell whether a YouTube Music result is an official Riot recording?

Open the result’s artist, album, and channel details and compare the release name with Riot Games Music information. If the page is a cover, reaction, lyric upload, or fan compilation, do not treat it as the official recording for catalog or rights purposes.

Can I download Riot music as MP3 files from my playlist?

A streaming playlist does not by itself provide an MP3 export. Any offline feature, file access, or download format is governed by the service and your plan, so avoid third-party ripping tools and check the platform’s current terms.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Why did a song disappear from my playlist after I added it?

Licensing or regional rights can make a previously playable recording unavailable. The entry may remain hidden or disabled; search the artist and album again, check the other service, and remove or replace the item if it cannot play in your region.

Is the 26-work vinyl edition still sold?

The 26 orchestral works figure comes from Riot’s 2019 retrospective, which named iam8bit as a source. Current inventory and pricing are not established, so verify a seller’s present listing and edition details before buying.
