To leave the Samsung One UI beta, withdraw through the Samsung Members app. If the beta build is already installed, that is only the first half: back up the device with Smart Switch on a computer, then connect the phone or tablet by USB and choose Downgrade in Smart Switch PC. Samsung’s rollback reinstalls the previous approved official release, resets the device and removes data created during beta testing. Restore the computer backup afterward.

Withdrawal ends your participation in the beta program. Rollback removes beta firmware that is already on the device. They are separate actions, and confusing them is the main reason people still see beta software after tapping “Withdraw.”

Withdrawing does not uninstall software already flashed to the device. Conversely, a rollback is not a substitute for leaving the program: complete the withdrawal first so the device is no longer enrolled when it returns to the official software channel.

What should I do before leaving the beta?
Plan the rollback as a destructive reset, not as a routine update. Samsung states that rollback initializes the device and removes data generated during beta testing. A backup made after entering the beta may not restore perfectly because beta-created data can have limited compatibility with the previous release.
Use Smart Switch on a computer for the backup
Install and open Smart Switch on a computer, connect the Galaxy device with a USB cable that supports data transfer, and create a computer backup before choosing Downgrade. A cable that only charges will not provide the connection required for this process, so check that the connector fits both the Galaxy device and the computer and that the cable is rated for data.
Check what you will need after the reset
- The same Galaxy phone or tablet, with enough battery to remain connected throughout the operation.
- A computer running Smart Switch PC.
- A data-capable USB cable and a direct, stable connection.
- Your normal sign-in details and any two-factor authentication method needed to set the device up again.
- Time to restore the computer backup and reinstall apps after the official build starts.
The first four points are practical preparation for a reset; Samsung’s documented requirement is the Smart Switch PC connection and USB cable. Do not start the downgrade until the backup completes and you can access the computer backup.
How do I withdraw from the One UI beta if I never installed it?
If you joined the program but did not install a beta build, withdraw from Samsung Members. Samsung says this is sufficient to keep using the current official version.
- Open Samsung Members on the Galaxy device that was enrolled.
- Open the One UI Beta Program area.
- Open the beta-program settings menu.
- Choose Withdraw from beta program and complete the confirmation screens.
After withdrawal, no firmware rollback is necessary because the beta software is not on the device. If a beta build was installed before you withdrew, continue with the rollback procedure below; withdrawal by itself cannot replace it.

1. Withdraw from the program on the Galaxy device
Complete the Samsung Members withdrawal flow first. The exact path Samsung publishes is Samsung Members › Settings › Beta program settings › Withdraw from beta program. Confirm the request rather than simply closing the page.
2. Make a Smart Switch computer backup
Launch Smart Switch on the computer, connect the Galaxy phone or tablet with the USB data cable, and use Smart Switch’s backup function. Wait for the backup to finish before disconnecting. Samsung specifically identifies a computer backup as the backup that can be restored after rollback.
3. Connect the device for the downgrade
Leave Smart Switch PC open and reconnect the device if necessary. Use the same data-capable USB connection; the official procedure requires the computer version of Smart Switch rather than a phone-only transfer.
4. Select Downgrade
In Smart Switch PC, select Downgrade and read the warnings. Accept the confirmation only after verifying that your backup exists, because Samsung describes the operation as a reset that removes beta-generated data.

Do not unplug the cable or power off the computer while Smart Switch is reinstalling the previous official release. The device may restart during the process. Follow the on-screen prompts from Smart Switch and wait for the phone or tablet to reach the initial setup state.
6. Set up the official software
When the rollback finishes, complete the normal device setup. The result should be the previous approved official release, not the beta build that was installed before the downgrade.

7. Restore the computer backup
Open Smart Switch again and restore the backup you made before the downgrade. Samsung warns that data created during beta use may have limited recovery compatibility, so a successful restore is not a guarantee that every beta-era setting, app state or file will return exactly as it was.
8. Verify the software channel
After setup and restoration, check the device’s software information and Samsung Members status. The purpose of the process is both to remove the installed beta and to end participation; if the device still reports beta membership, review the withdrawal confirmation in Samsung Members.

What data is removed during a One UI beta rollback?
Rollback is destructive to local data because Samsung resets or initializes the device. Treat the phone or tablet as if it were being factory-reset, even though Smart Switch is reinstalling a specific approved release rather than asking you to perform a generic reset.

A backup reduces the risk but cannot change Samsung’s compatibility warning. If a particular document or photo is irreplaceable, make an additional copy before the reset instead of depending on a single Smart Switch archive.
Can a Galaxy watch use the same rollback procedure?
No. Samsung’s Beta Manager guidance says Smart Switch rollback supports phone and tablet devices only. A watch running beta software must be rolled back by visiting a service center.
The phone-and-tablet workflow therefore has a self-service path, while the watch workflow requires assisted service. Do not try to force the phone procedure onto a watch or assume that a computer connection will expose the same Downgrade command.

What if Smart Switch does not offer Downgrade?

When will the stable One UI release arrive?
Samsung does not promise a specific stable-release date for a beta program. Its explanation is that timing depends on analyzing beta feedback and implementing improvements. Leaving the beta therefore does not mean a particular stable build will be available immediately; the rollback returns you to the previous approved official release.
If you withdraw before installing the beta, you remain on the official version already on the device. If you roll back an installed beta, you use Smart Switch to return to that earlier approved release rather than waiting for the next stable update.
