3. Check Device Manager
Open Device Manager, expand the relevant categories, and look for warning icons. Open each recently changed device, select Properties, and review the Device status message and driver details. 4. Keep adequate free disk space
Microsoft’s crash guidance recommends keeping roughly 10–15% of the system drive free. Check the drive in File Explorer before installing updates or attempting recovery. 5. Install current Windows updates

Microsoft notes that its Device Manager reference does not contain every possible code. If 0x008DB58F is not listed, do not substitute a different code or apply a generic registry edit. Contact the application vendor with reproducible details
Send the full message, steps that reproduce the failure, application version, Windows build, and any event-log entry or dump available. Tell support whether the code appears once, on every launch, or only with one file or device. This is more useful than reporting the number without context.

A value that appears after every restart deserves the crash-recovery sequence instead of an application reinstall. What information should I provide when escalating the problem?
