TikTok’s Auto-Scroll feature can be convenient when you want videos to move to the next post without swiping, but it does not appear for every user. On Android and iOS, the option may be missing because of your app version, account eligibility, location, device settings, or TikTok’s limited feature testing.
If you do not see Auto-Scroll in the share menu or playback options, it usually does not mean your phone is broken. The feature may not have rolled out to your account yet, or TikTok may be testing it with only selected users in certain regions.
The fixes below focus on the practical steps that can help: updating TikTok, restarting your phone, clearing cache or app data, reinstalling the app, trying another account, and using Android or iPhone accessibility workarounds when the built-in option is not available.
Why Auto-Scroll Is Not Showing on TikTok
TikTok’s Auto-Scroll option does not appear for every user at the same time. If you long-press a video on the For You page and do not see Auto scroll in the menu, it usually means the feature has not been enabled for your app, account, region, or device yet. This is common with TikTok features because the platform often releases changes gradually instead of making them available globally on the same day.

One of the most common causes is limited feature testing. TikTok frequently tests tools with a small group of users before wider release. Two people using the same phone model and the same TikTok version may see different options because TikTok can enable features at the account level. This means your friend may have Auto-Scroll while your account does not, even if your app appears fully updated.
Your app version can also affect whether Auto-Scroll appears. Older TikTok builds may not include the menu option, especially if automatic app updates are turned off on Android or iOS. In some cases, the feature may be present in a newer version but hidden or unstable in an older one. A temporary app glitch, corrupted cache, or outdated system components can also stop TikTok menus from loading correctly.

- Your account is not included in the current rollout: TikTok may not have enabled Auto-Scroll for your profile yet.
- The app is outdated: Older versions may not show the Auto-Scroll option in the video menu.
- The feature is not available in your region: Some countries receive TikTok features later than others.
- You are using a test or limited account experience: TikTok may show different tools across accounts as part of A/B testing.

It is also worth checking that you are looking in the right place. Auto-Scroll, when available, is usually accessed from the For You feed by pressing and holding on a video, then choosing Auto scroll from the pop-up options. It may not appear on every screen, such as profile grids, search results, TikTok Shop videos, or certain live and ad formats.
If Auto-Scroll is missing, it does not necessarily mean something is wrong with your phone. The feature may simply not be assigned to your account yet. The best approach is to confirm your app is updated, clear basic app issues, and then try supported workarounds if TikTok has not made Auto-Scroll available to you directly.
Check Whether Your TikTok App and Account Support Auto-Scroll
Before changing phone settings or reinstalling anything, confirm whether Auto-Scroll is actually available to your TikTok app and account. TikTok often releases features in stages, so two people using the same phone model and the same app version may not see the same options. Auto-Scroll can also appear on one account but not another, especially if TikTok is testing the feature with a limited group of users.
The quickest check is inside the video feed. Open TikTok, go to the For You feed, then press and hold on a video until the action menu appears. If your account has access, you may see an Auto Scroll option near controls such as Not interested, Clear mode, or playback speed. Tap it to turn the feature on. If the option is missing from this long-press menu, your current app/account combination may not support it yet.
Things to verify first
- App version: Open the App Store on iPhone or Google Play Store on Android and check whether TikTok has an available update. Older builds may not include newer feed controls.
- Account type: Try checking from a personal account if you normally use a business, creator, or secondary account. Feature tests may vary by account category.
- Region: Auto-Scroll may not be rolled out in every country or market. Using TikTok in a supported language does not always mean the feature is enabled in your region.
- Feed location: Look for Auto-Scroll in the main For You feed. It may not appear in search results, profiles, TikTok Shop videos, ads, Lives, reposts, or some shared video screens.

If you have another TikTok account, switch to it and check the same long-press menu in the For You feed. On TikTok, go to Profile, tap your username at the top, then select another account if one is already added. You can also test on a different device using the same account. It is also worth comparing Android and iOS behavior if you have access to both. TikTok features do not always arrive on Android and iPhone at the same time, and the menu layout can differ slightly between platforms. If your app is updated, you are checking the correct feed, and the option still does not appear, continue with cache clearing, reinstalling, and accessibility workarounds. In many cases, however, the result simply means TikTok has not enabled Auto-Scroll for your account yet.
Update TikTok and Restart Your Phone
If Auto-Scroll is missing from the video options menu, the first practical fix is to update TikTok. New TikTok features are often tied to specific app builds, and an older version may not include the menu item even if your account is eligible. Updating also replaces outdated interface components, fixes bugs, and refreshes feature flags that control which tools appear in the app.
On Android, open the Google Play Store, search for TikTok, and tap Update if it appears. If you installed TikTok from the Galaxy Store or another official store on your device, check there as well because the installed version may be managed outside Google Play. On iPhone, open the App Store, tap your profile icon, then scroll to pending updates and install the latest TikTok update if available. You can also search for TikTok directly in the App Store and tap Update from the app page.
After updating, fully close TikTok instead of only switching away from it. On Android, open the recent apps screen and swipe TikTok away. On iOS, open the app switcher and swipe TikTok up to close it. Then restart your phone. A restart clears temporary system glitches, reloads background services, and forces TikTok to start a fresh session the next time you open it.

- Close TikTok completely from the recent apps or app switcher screen.
- Restart your Android phone or iPhone.
- Open TikTok again and play a video on the For You feed.

If you do not see an update button, your app may already be on the latest public version available for your device or region. In that case, restarting is still worth doing because TikTok can enable or hide experimental features through server-side settings after the app reconnects. Keep in mind that an update does not guarantee Auto-Scroll will appear immediately. TikTok may still limit the feature by region, account type, watch history, device compatibility, or ongoing A/B testing.
Also confirm that your phone’s operating system is reasonably current. Very old Android or iOS versions can affect app behavior and may prevent newer TikTok features from working correctly. On Android, check Settings > System > System update, though the exact path varies by brand. On iPhone, check Settings > General > Software Update. Once both TikTok and your phone have been updated, test Auto-Scroll again before moving on to cache clearing or reinstalling the app.
Clear TikTok Cache and App Data
If TikTok Auto-Scroll is still not showing after updating the app, the next step is to clear cached files. TikTok stores temporary data such as thumbnails, video loading files, login tokens, feature flags, and interface settings so the app can open faster. Sometimes those stored files become outdated, especially after an app update or server-side feature change. Clearing the cache can force TikTok to refresh what features your account can access, including options that appear when you long-press a video.

Clear TikTok cache inside the app
The safest method is to use TikTok’s built-in cache cleaner. This does not delete your account, posted videos, drafts, saved videos, liked videos, or followers. It mainly removes temporary files that TikTok can download again when needed.

- Open TikTok on your Android phone or iPhone.
- Tap Profile in the bottom-right corner.
- Tap the menu icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings and privacy.
- Scroll to Cache & Cellular or Cache & Cellular Data.
- Tap Free up space.
- Next to Cache, tap Clear.
After clearing the cache, fully close TikTok from the recent apps screen and open it again. Then play a video on the For You feed, press and hold on the video, and check whether Auto Scroll appears in the menu. If it still does not show, sign out and sign back in before testing again.
Clear app data on Android
Android also lets you clear TikTok’s app storage from system settings. This is stronger than clearing only the cache because it resets local app data on the device. You may be signed out, and some offline or temporary items may be removed. If you have TikTok drafts, avoid clearing full app data unless you are comfortable risking drafts stored locally on that phone.
- Open Settings on your Android device.
- Go to Apps or Apps & notifications.
- Select TikTok.
- Tap Storage or Storage & cache.
- Tap Clear cache first.
- If needed, tap Clear storage or Clear data, then confirm.
What about iPhone app data?
iOS does not offer the same direct “clear app data” button for most apps. On iPhone, start with TikTok’s in-app cache option. If that does not help, the closest equivalent is removing and reinstalling TikTok. Before doing that, open TikTok and check whether you have drafts you need to post, save, or move, since drafts are usually stored on the device rather than in your online account.

Reinstall TikTok or Switch Accounts

This is different from clearing cache because it replaces the TikTok app package itself and forces the app to download fresh settings after you sign in again.
Before deleting TikTok, make sure you know how to get back into your account. Confirm your phone number, email address, username, and password, or check that your Apple, Google, Facebook, or other linked login method still works. Drafts are stored locally on your phone in many cases, so uninstalling TikTok may delete unsaved drafts. If you have videos you want to keep, publish them privately, save them to your device, or back them up before removing the app.
How to reinstall TikTok
- Open your phone’s app settings or home screen and uninstall TikTok.
- Restart your Android phone or iPhone after the app is removed.
- Open the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Search for TikTok and install the latest available version.
- Sign in to your account and open the For You feed.
- Long-press on a video and check whether Auto-Scroll appears in the menu.
On Android, you can also check that TikTok was installed from the Google Play Store rather than a third-party APK source. Sideloaded or modified versions may not receive the same feature rollouts, and some features can fail if Google Play services, device certification, or app integrity checks are not working normally. On iPhone, make sure TikTok is installed from the App Store for your current Apple ID region, since app availability and feature behavior can vary by market.

- If Auto-Scroll appears on another account: your phone and app likely support it, but your main account has not received the feature yet.
- If Auto-Scroll does not appear on any account: the feature may not be enabled for your device type, app build, region, or current TikTok rollout group.

Check TikTok’s official channels and report the missing feature
