- Reset only if necessary. Open the quest or mission menu and select Reset current quest. Replay the objective from its beginning.
- Record a reproducible failure. If the same block returns, capture the details before making further changes and report it to Mojang.
A restart is a general remedy for transient session state, not a guaranteed repair for damaged or inconsistent save data. A reset is more disruptive because it can roll back the current mission’s objective progress.

Why updating matters for quest markers
The hotfix names incorrect quest markers in Wrath of the Sculkers and Training with the Enchantsmith. If your marker points to an implausible location, update before repeatedly abandoning or resetting the mission; the marker itself may be the bug rather than your route.

How do I reset the current quest?
Open the in-game quest or mission menu and choose Reset current quest, then confirm and replay the objective. The command is the built-in way to restart the active quest, but Mojang has not published a universal reset guide that defines exactly what every quest preserves.
What to do before confirming the reset
- Write down the current objective and any sub-objective you have already completed.
- Return to the objective area and check for a key, dropped item, lever, door, or conversation prompt that may still be available.
- Look at the marker after installing 1.1.3.0; an incorrect marker can send you away from the real trigger.
- Capture a screenshot or short clip if the objective is absent. A reset can remove the original state that a bug report needs.
A community report describes the reset helping when a required key was missing. Treat that as an anecdotal workaround, not proof that resetting repairs every stuck quest. If the reset itself fails or the same objective becomes blocked again, stop cycling it and collect reproducible details.

Install version 1.1.3.0 or newer. Mojang’s issue MCD2-67 records a confirmed blocker in which the Prime Enchanter arena’s center platform remained lowered, preventing progression after a player left and later rejoined a session; the issue is marked fixed in 1.1.3.0.
If you are already trapped in the arena
- Check the game version and apply the update before attempting another reset.
- Quit to the main menu, close the game, relaunch, and re-enter the mission.
- Approach the arena again and verify whether the center platform rises and the encounter can continue.
- If the platform remains lowered on the updated build, record the exact sequence, including whether you left and rejoined, then report it rather than repeatedly abandoning the mission.
Do not treat a lowered platform as a navigation mistake when the symptoms match MCD2-67. The documented fix is version-based, so an older client can continue to reproduce the blocker.

Why is my quest marker pointing to the wrong place?
First determine whether the quest is one of the two named in the 1.1.3.0 hotfix: Wrath of the Sculkers or Training with the Enchantsmith. Update, restart the session, and recheck the marker before resetting mission progress.
Marker-check procedure
- Open the quest or mission menu and confirm the selected quest is the one you intend to track.
- Read the current objective text, not just the map pin.
- Travel back to the last known objective area and look for an interactable that matches the text.
- After updating and relaunching, toggle away from and back to the quest if the menu permits it, then check whether the marker changes.
- If the marker remains wrong, capture the map, objective text, version number, and location shown by the marker for a report.
Resetting can be reasonable when the objective trigger genuinely failed, but it is not the first response to a marker that the hotfix already identifies as potentially incorrect.

A known case is tracked as MCD2-92: after defeating the Soul Corrupted Witch and speaking to a villager, the quest menu could remain open. No universal player-side fix has been published for that condition.
Safe actions for a frozen menu
- Wait briefly to ensure the game is not finishing a transition, then try the normal back or close control once.
- If the menu remains frozen, quit to the main menu rather than repeatedly pressing controls.
- Close and relaunch the game, then load the mission again.
- Note whether the lock returns at the same boss-and-villager sequence. Reproduction at the same point is valuable evidence.
If you cannot reach the main menu, use your platform’s standard application-close command. Avoid deleting save data or repeatedly forcing shutdowns while troubleshooting; those actions can create additional uncertainty and are not documented as fixes for MCD2-92.

How do I check whether the game or save is the real problem?
Compare the failure across sessions without changing several variables at once. First test the updated build after a full relaunch. Then note whether the same quest, location, and interaction fail every time, or whether the problem disappears after re-entering the mission.

- The marker or menu behaves normally after a complete close and relaunch.
