The quickest way to audit a Deezer playlist is Deezer’s free AI Music Detector. Connect Deezer, let the detector scan your playlists, then open the reported playlist and remove or replace tracks with Deezer’s normal editing controls. You can also inspect an album page for Deezer’s “AI-generated content” label.
Deezer’s detector and label focus on music generated entirely by AI, not every recording made with a limited AI-assisted step. A search filter announced for rollout worldwide before the end of 2026 is intended to hide fully AI-generated tracks, albums and associated artists; until that switch appears on your account, playlist scanning, album labels and manual editing are the practical controls.

Use Deezer’s web detector, connect your Deezer account and review the playlists it identifies. The tool is free, does not require a Deezer subscription, works in 27 languages and is designed to work across 20 major streaming platforms.
- Open the detector. Go to Deezer’s AI Music Detector.
- Select Deezer. Choose Deezer from the supported services and authorize the account connection requested by the tool.
- Start the scan. Allow the service to analyze the playlists associated with the connected account. Let the scan finish before judging a playlist from a partial result.
- Review the report. Check which playlists and tracks are identified as fully AI-generated. Deezer also provides a way to share the results, which can be useful if you are coordinating a library with someone else.
- Open the affected playlist in Deezer. Use the playlist’s normal edit menu to remove a flagged track or replace it with a human-created alternative.
The detector is an audit, not a playback setting: it tells you what was found in connected playlists, but it does not automatically rewrite those playlists. Keep the report open while editing so you can work through every flagged entry without relying on memory.

What the detector can and cannot establish
Deezer says its system has 99.8% accuracy and may miss about two AI-generated tracks in every 1,000. That figure is Deezer’s published claim, not an independent audit, so a clean report is strong evidence rather than proof that every recording was made entirely by people.
The target is fully AI-generated music. A song written, performed or produced by people with a limited AI tool used for tasks such as assistance, editing or processing is treated differently. Do not interpret a detector result as a statement that no AI software was used anywhere in the production chain.
How can I verify an AI label inside Deezer?
Open the album page for a recording and look for Deezer’s “AI-generated content” label. Deezer introduced this album-level tag in June 2025 for albums containing detected, fully AI-generated tracks.
Why the label is attached to an album
The label is applied at album level when Deezer detects AI-generated tracks in that release. It is therefore a warning about the album, not a guarantee that every track on it has the same origin. If an album mixes tracks, inspect individual track credits and the detector result before deciding whether to remove the entire release from a playlist.
Conversely, the absence of a visible label is not a certification of human authorship. Detection systems can miss a small share of tracks, and Deezer’s published accuracy figure is not an external certification scheme.

What the label means for listening
Deezer does not make detected fully AI-generated recordings unavailable. They can remain playable in the catalogue. Deezer says they are automatically excluded from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists, so a labelled album may still be accessible by direct search or a saved link while no longer being promoted through those discovery channels.

How do I remove or replace an AI-generated track in a playlist?
After the detector identifies a track, edit the playlist directly. Deezer’s ordinary playlist controls are enough; there is no separate deletion command required for detector results.
- Open the playlist named in the detector report.
- Find the flagged track in the playlist track list.
- Open the track’s playlist menu and choose the remove option.
- To keep the playlist’s mood or sequence, add a replacement track after removal and reposition it using the playlist’s standard ordering controls.
- Repeat the process for every flagged entry, including duplicate versions or alternate releases that appear separately.
Removing a track from one playlist does not remove the recording from Deezer’s catalogue or from another playlist where you saved it. If the same song appears in several playlists, search for each occurrence and edit them individually.
How to choose replacements without losing the playlist’s character
- Match the role of the original track—tempo, language, mood or era—rather than choosing the first search result.
- Check the replacement’s album page before adding it if you want to avoid another album carrying the AI-generated-content label.
- For a collaborative playlist, tell other editors why a track was changed so it is not immediately re-added.
- Keep a copy of the original playlist order or note removed tracks if the playlist is used for a set, class or event.
Can I block AI music in Deezer search?
Deezer announced an on/off search toggle on October 13, 2026. When available, it is intended to exclude fully AI-generated tracks, albums and associated artists from search results. Deezer says the measure will be introduced globally before the end of 2026, but it has not published a precise release date or guaranteed that every account will receive the switch at the same time.
What to do when the toggle appears
- Look in Deezer’s search controls or account settings for the AI-generated-content exclusion switch after the rollout reaches your account.
- Turn the switch on to hide the targeted tracks, albums and associated artists from search.
- Turn it off whenever you need to restore access to that content.
The announcement describes search exclusion, not automatic editing of saved playlists. Until the control is visible, use the detector to audit playlists, album-page labels to check catalogue entries and manual playlist editing to remove tracks you do not want.

What is the difference between fully AI-generated and AI-assisted music?
Deezer’s current labels and filters are aimed at recordings generated entirely by AI. That category is narrower than “music that used AI” because many human productions use software assistance without replacing the human creator.
| Production situation | How Deezer’s current approach treats it |
|---|---|
| A track generated entirely by AI | Target of detection, album labelling, recommendation exclusion and the announced search filter |
| A human-made track with limited AI assistance | Handled differently; an AI-generated label should not be read as proof that no AI tool was used at any stage |
This distinction matters when curating a playlist around human authorship. A detector result identifies Deezer’s fully AI-generated category; it does not provide a complete production history for every song.
Which Deezer method should I use to manage AI tracks?
Each control answers a different question. Use the detector for a playlist audit, the album label for an in-catalogue check, manual editing for a precise cleanup and the search toggle—once released—for broad discovery filtering.
| Method | Coverage | Availability | Scope | What you see | Action |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| AI Music Detector | Connected playlists | Available now as a free web tool | Fully AI-generated music targeted by Deezer’s detector | Scan report that can be reviewed and shared | Open the playlist and remove or replace tracks manually |
| Album-page label | Deezer catalogue album pages | Introduced in June 2025 | Albums containing detected fully AI-generated tracks | “AI-generated content” label at album level | Use the information when deciding what to save or play |
| Search exclusion toggle | Catalogue search for tracks, albums and associated artists | Announced October 13, 2026; global introduction promised before the end of 2026 | Fully AI-generated content | Excluded results when the switch is on | Turn the switch on or off; edit existing playlists separately |
How reliable is Deezer’s AI detection?
Deezer reports 99.8% accuracy, which it translates to roughly two missed AI-generated tracks per 1,000. Because this is a company-published performance claim rather than an independent audit, treat it as a useful estimate of the system’s reported performance, not as a guarantee for every genre, language or release.

There are two practical limits:
- Misses are possible. A track absent from a report may still be incorrectly classified as human-made.
- The category is limited. The system is designed around fully AI-generated recordings and does not answer whether a human production used an AI-assisted step.
For a high-stakes playlist—such as one used for a public programme—combine the scan with album-page checks and your own review of credits. For ordinary personal listening, the detector provides a fast way to find the tracks most likely to fall within Deezer’s fully AI-generated category.

What has Deezer reported about the growth and treatment of AI music?
Deezer’s published figures explain why the service added several layers of labelling and filtering. They are company-reported measurements tied to specific dates and definitions, not a census of every streaming service.
| Date or period | Reported figure | What it describes |
|---|---|---|
| June 2025 launch | 18% of uploads; 0.5% of streams | AI-generated share figures Deezer reported when album-level tagging launched |
| Calendar year 2025 | 13.4 million tracks | AI-generated tracks Deezer said it detected and flagged |
| Calendar year 2025 | Up to 85% of streams | Streams on fully AI-generated tracks that Deezer identified as fraudulent and excluded from royalty calculations |
| January 2025–August 2026 | More than 42 million tracks | AI-generated tracks Deezer said it excluded from algorithmic recommendations |
| June 11, 2026 | 43% of users switching to Deezer | Users who Deezer said already had AI tracks in their playlists |
| June 11, 2026 | 97% of listeners | Share unable to distinguish fully AI-generated music from human-created music in a Deezer/Ipsos blind test reported in 2026 from a 2025 survey |
| June 11, 2026 | 80% of surveyed listeners | Share who believed AI-generated music should be clearly labelled in the same Deezer/Ipsos reporting |
| October 2026 | More than 14 million albums | Albums Deezer said had been tagged by the time of its search-toggle announcement |
These figures also clarify why a playlist can contain an AI-generated track even when recommendations no longer surface it: availability in the catalogue is separate from promotion through recommendations and editorial programming.
Why does Deezer keep detected AI tracks available?
Deezer’s policy separates access from promotion. A detected fully AI-generated track can remain playable for listeners, while the service removes it from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists. That lets a user reach a recording deliberately without presenting it as a recommended discovery.
Deezer has also described rights and fraud concerns. It said that, in 2025, up to 85% of streams on fully AI-generated tracks were identified as fraudulent and excluded from royalty calculations. The percentage applies to the streams Deezer identified under its fraud analysis, not to every AI-generated stream on every service.
What should I do if a scan, label and my own judgement disagree?
Use the three signals for different purposes rather than treating one as an absolute verdict.
Best Value
- Detector report: best for finding likely fully AI-generated entries across your connected playlists.
- Album label: best for a quick catalogue warning, remembering that it is applied at album level.
- Credits and context: useful when deciding whether a mixed album or an AI-assisted human production belongs in a playlist focused on human creation.
If a track matters to the playlist’s purpose, leave it out until you can resolve the discrepancy. If it is ordinary personal listening, you can keep it while recognizing that Deezer’s published system can miss a small share of tracks and does not classify every form of AI assistance.
How can I maintain an AI-free playlist over time?
- Run an initial detector scan and remove or replace the reported tracks.
- Check new additions by opening the album page before saving a release that is important to the playlist’s rules.
- Re-scan after major imports or after moving a playlist from another service, since Deezer says many users arrive with AI tracks already saved.
- Watch for the search toggle during the announced 2026 rollout and enable it if you want search results filtered globally.
- Review collaborative edits so another contributor does not reintroduce a track you removed.
This process keeps the playlist itself under your control while Deezer’s catalogue-level controls continue to evolve.

Will turning on Deezer’s search exclusion delete AI tracks already saved in my playlists?
No automatic playlist deletion is described in Deezer’s announcement. The switch is presented as a search-results filter, so saved entries should be reviewed with the detector and removed through the playlist editor if you want them gone.
Does an AI-generated-content label mean every song on the album was made entirely by AI?
Not necessarily. Deezer applies the label at album level when detected AI tracks are present, so a release can contain a mixture; inspect the individual track context before discarding the whole album.
Can a song with a small AI-assisted production step be hidden by these controls?
Deezer says the detector, label and announced filter target fully AI-generated music. Limited assistance in an otherwise human production is treated differently, so these controls are not a universal marker for any use of AI software.
Do I need a paid Deezer plan to run the AI Music Detector?
No. Deezer describes the detector as a free web tool and says a Deezer subscription is not required, although you still connect an account or supported service so the tool can scan its playlists.
