Connect to the hotel network and sign in
- Open Settings > Wi-Fi. Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on.
- Tap the hotel’s network name. Use the exact name provided by the hotel rather than guessing between similar network names.
- Wait for the welcome or sign-in screen. Hotel Wi-Fi often uses a captive network page. Follow the prompts to enter the requested details—such as a username, password, email address, room information, or access code—or accept the terms. Requirements vary by property; ask the hotel if you do not know what to enter.
- Check for a blue checkmark beside the network name in Wi-Fi settings, then try a website or app. A checkmark means the iPhone has joined the Wi-Fi network; it does not by itself confirm that the hotel login is complete or that internet access is working. Apple describes captive networks, including those in hotels, in its captive Wi-Fi instructions.
Some captive networks may charge for access. Confirm any fees, device limits, and access rules with the hotel or its Wi-Fi provider; these are not universal iPhone settings.

If the hotel Wi-Fi sign-in page will not open
Prompt the welcome screen manually
Go to Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the More Info button beside the hotel network, then tap Join Network. This is Apple’s documented way to bring up a captive network welcome screen.

If you dismissed the sign-in page, reconnect to the network and check the options shown. Apple says that choosing Cancel on the login screen disconnects the device. If you reached the screen through More Info and see that the network is not connected to the internet, Without Internet dismisses the welcome screen and turns off Auto-Login while keeping the device associated with the network; Other Network returns to Wi-Fi settings and disconnects it; and Cancel returns to the welcome screen.

Adjust automatic joining only if needed
To have the iPhone show the welcome page again next time, turn off that network’s Auto-Login setting. If you want the phone to join the network automatically, check that Auto-Join is on. The labels and options are described in Apple’s captive-network guidance.
When Wi-Fi says connected but there is no internet
First distinguish joining the hotel’s Wi-Fi from getting online through it: the phone can be associated with the network while the sign-in step remains incomplete. Confirm you used the hotel’s intended network and finished any requested login or terms acceptance.

- Check basic settings: Make sure Wi-Fi is on and Airplane Mode is off. Apple’s Wi-Fi troubleshooting guide notes that a “No Internet Connection” message can indicate another issue.
- Ask whether the problem affects other devices: Check with hotel staff about the access point, sign-in portal, and property-wide service. If other devices also fail on the hotel network, that points toward a network or service issue rather than an iPhone-only problem.
- Compare with another Wi-Fi network: If the iPhone works elsewhere but not at the hotel, the hotel network or its access requirements may be the cause. If it fails across networks, follow Apple’s broader troubleshooting guidance or contact Apple Support.
- Consider VPN or security software only after basic checks: Apple recommends uninstalling such software, restarting the iPhone, and testing as a diagnostic sequence. Removing it can affect your protections; contact the software provider or your administrator if you are required to use it.
Private Wi-Fi Address: keep it on unless the hotel needs help authorizing the iPhone
Private Wi-Fi Address helps reduce tracking by using a different private MAC address for each network. Apple recommends keeping the feature enabled where supported. If the hotel cannot identify or authorize your device, ask its technical support before changing the setting. Apple explains the feature and how to adjust it in its Private Wi-Fi Address guide.

On iOS 18 and later, Apple documents Off, Fixed, and Rotating modes. Fixed is the default on WPA2-or-stronger networks; weaker or open networks default to Rotating. Your iPhone may show different options if it runs an earlier version.

Save network reset for last
Resetting Network Settings is not a routine fix for a hotel sign-in page. Apple says this reset removes saved Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN/APN settings. Try the simpler checks and ask hotel support first; consider the reset only if other troubleshooting has failed, as described in Apple’s Wi-Fi troubleshooting steps.
