Open Apple Music in a web browser, visit an invalid address such as https://music.apple.com/404, and use the virtual wheel to reach the screen you want to preserve. Then take a normal device screenshot for a single still image, or use the browser/device’s full-page export when you need a PDF. The easter egg is a website 404 experience, not a screen inside the Apple Music app; if a link launches the app, copy the address and paste it into Safari, Chrome, Firefox or another browser.
The route, song list and even the game may change. The instructions below cover Mac, iPhone and iPad, explain when a PDF is useful, and show how to record movement when a still image cannot convey the interaction.

Where is Apple Music’s hidden iPod?
Apple Music places the interactive first-generation iPod recreation on a web 404 page. The page shows “Page Not Found” and the invitation “Give this a spin instead.” It is currently reachable through an invalid Apple Music web address such as music.apple.com/404, although Apple can change the routing or replace the page.
Use a browser rather than the native Music app. Reports published on October 23, 2026 describe the experience as a browser-only anniversary easter egg. Different invalid paths have been reported, so if /404 stops working, try another nonexistent path on the same Apple Music web domain instead of assuming your device is incompatible.

What can you do inside it?
- Rotate or drag around the virtual click wheel and press the center button.
- Browse Playlists, Artists, Songs and Settings.
- Play short song previews where they are available.
- Open Settings and then About to find the hidden Brick game. Holding the center button for several seconds is reported to reveal the Breakout-style game.
- On a desktop, use the arrow keys and Enter as an alternative to pointer input.
One iClarified report counted 1,029 songs in the U.S. version on October 23, 2026. Treat that as a dated, regional snapshot: the catalog can differ by country and may change when Apple updates the page.
How do I open the hidden iPod without launching the Music app?
- Open Safari, Chrome, Firefox or another full web browser.
- Type or paste https://music.apple.com/404 into the address bar.
- Wait for the 404 page to finish loading. You should see the “Page Not Found” message and the virtual iPod invitation.
- If tapping a link opens the Music app, do not follow it inside the app. Copy the URL, switch to the browser and paste it into the browser’s address field.
- If the path returns an ordinary error page, try a different invalid path on
music.apple.com. The exact path is not guaranteed to remain/404.
A private window can help separate the test from existing browser tabs, but it does not guarantee that Apple will serve the easter egg. The important distinction is that the request must be rendered as a web page, not handed off to the native app.

Decide whether you need a single menu, a song list, the Settings/About screen, or the Brick game before capturing. A still screenshot records only the visible state, so pause on the desired menu and move the pointer or browser controls away from the wheel.
Mac interaction
- Click and drag around the wheel to rotate it.
- Use the keyboard arrow keys to move through entries and Enter to select one.
- Press the center button to open a highlighted item or to activate controls in the game.
- For Brick, open Settings, choose About, then hold the center button for several seconds until the game appears.
iPhone and iPad interaction
Use touch gestures on the browser page. Drag around the wheel, tap the center button and wait for each screen to settle before capturing. Keep the browser in the orientation and zoom level that best frames the iPod; changing orientation after the screenshot will not recover content that was outside the viewport.

- Select Capture Entire Screen when the browser context is important or you want a record of the complete desktop view.
- Select Capture Selected Window and click the browser window to retain the page without unrelated windows.
- Select Capture Selected Portion and draw a rectangle around the virtual iPod when you need a clean, cropped still.
- Click Options if you need to change the save location, timer or pointer visibility.
- Click Capture. Open the resulting image and check that the wheel, labels and any selected menu are sharp and unobstructed.
A selected portion usually gives the clearest iPod-only image. A window capture is better for documentation because it proves the result came from a browser 404 page. Keep the original file rather than repeatedly re-saving a compressed copy.

How do I screenshot the hidden iPod on an iPhone or iPad?
- Leave the iPod at the desired state in Safari or another browser.
- Press the device’s hardware screenshot combination (the exact buttons depend on the model).
- Tap the thumbnail that appears in the corner to open the editor.
- Crop or annotate if necessary, then choose Save to Photos or Save to Files.
Apple’s iPod touch guidance documents this same general flow: press the device buttons, open the thumbnail, and select a save destination. On current iPhone and iPad models, the button combination varies, so use the combination shown for your hardware rather than holding random buttons and risking a lock or power action.
Can I save the Apple Music iPod as a PDF?
Yes, where the browser and operating system expose a full-page screenshot option, but a PDF is not automatically the best representation of this easter egg. A PDF is a document snapshot; it does not preserve the wheel’s interactivity, menu transitions or song previews. For one visible state, PNG, HEIF or another image is usually more faithful. Use PDF when you need a page-length record or a file that fits a document workflow.
Full-page export on iPhone or iPad
- Capture the webpage with the hardware screenshot shortcut.
- Tap the screenshot thumbnail to open the markup view.
- Choose Full Page if that tab is offered for the page.
- Tap Done, choose Save PDF to Files, select a folder and confirm.
- Open the saved PDF and inspect every page before sharing it.
Apple documents the Full Page option for webpages, documents and emails that extend beyond the visible screen. An interactive canvas or a 404 page may not produce a useful long document: the export can contain only the visible layout, a large blank region or an unexpectedly cropped page. Verification is essential.
PDF export on a Mac
Use the browser’s print dialog and choose its PDF save command when you need a document file. The exact labels vary by browser and macOS version. Select the page or current view, check the print preview, disable headers and footers if they obscure the iPod, and save only after confirming that the virtual device appears in the preview. If the preview is blank or omits the canvas, use an image screenshot instead.

Should I record the interaction instead of taking a still?
Use screen recording when the point is movement: spinning the wheel, moving through menus, hearing a short preview or playing Brick. A still cannot show those transitions.
Recording on a Mac
- Press Shift-Command-5.
- Choose Record Entire Screen or Record Selected Portion.
- Open Options to choose a microphone and save location if needed.
- Start recording, perform only the interactions you want to demonstrate, then stop from the menu bar.
- Trim the clip in Photos or another editor and keep the original recording as an archive.
Recording on iPhone or iPad
Add Screen Recording to Control Center if it is not already present, start it, perform the interaction in the browser and stop from Control Center or the status indicator. Apple documents screen recording from Control Center on iPod touch; newer iPhone and iPad versions use the same general system feature with model-specific controls.
Which capture format should I choose?

For a durable record, save the original image or video as well as any cropped or converted copy. The page may be temporary, and a local file remains available if Apple removes or changes the easter egg.
Why does the link open Apple Music instead of the hidden iPod?
Operating-system link handling can route an Apple Music URL to the native app. The app does not contain this browser 404 experience, so the hand-off prevents the iPod from appearing.
- Copy the address rather than tapping it from another app.
- Open the browser first, tap the address field and paste the URL.
- Confirm that the address bar still shows the web domain and that a webpage, not the Music app, is displaying the result.
- If the page is an ordinary 404, try another nonexistent path because Apple’s routing may have changed.
What should I do if the page is blank, stuck or missing the wheel?

Paste the address manually into a browser, as described above. Do not use the app’s internal search or library view.

The browser shows a normal 404
The promotion or route may have changed. Try another invalid path on music.apple.com and retry in a current browser. Because the exact path is changeable, a previously working address is not a permanent API.
The page loads but controls do not respond
Wait for the page to finish loading, then click or tap directly on the wheel. On desktop, test arrow keys and Enter. If an overlay, browser toolbar or consent prompt covers the canvas, dismiss it before capturing.
The screenshot is cropped or blurry
Resize the browser window, adjust page zoom, and capture again after the iPod is stable. Use a selected-window or selected-portion capture rather than enlarging a previously compressed image.
The PDF is blank or contains an incomplete page
Inspect the print or Full Page preview before saving. Interactive canvases do not always translate into document output; switch to an image screenshot or a recording when the PDF cannot represent the visible iPod.
