Deezer is currently the only service in this comparison with a documented listener-facing control intended to remove fully AI-generated music from discovery. Deezer announced on October 13, 2026, that it would roll out a global on/off toggle before the end of 2026. When enabled, the control is designed to exclude fully AI-generated tracks, albums and related artists from search results. Spotify’s documented tools identify possible AI artist identities and record creator disclosures, while Apple Music’s published mechanism is optional supplier metadata rather than a listener filter.
The distinction matters because these services are addressing different things. Deezer is targeting the visibility of fully synthetic recordings, Spotify is labeling an artist’s apparent identity and the way creators used AI, and Apple is defining how suppliers can disclose material AI use in delivered assets. None of the three systems should be treated as proof that every recording made with any AI assistance will be hidden or labeled.

Can I block AI-generated songs on Deezer?
Deezer has announced a switch that will let listeners exclude fully AI-generated tracks, albums and related artists from search results. As of October 25, 2026, the company says the global rollout is planned before the end of 2026, so the control may not yet appear in every account, country or app version.
What the Deezer toggle removes
The announced setting is deliberately narrow. It applies to music Deezer classifies as fully AI-generated, rather than to any song in which a human used an AI tool during writing, arrangement, mixing or mastering. A human-made recording with limited AI assistance is therefore outside the stated target of the switch.

The control affects search visibility for three related objects: individual tracks, albums and related artist profiles. It is not described as a download restriction, a catalog deletion or a guarantee that every synthetic track has been detected. Tracks can remain available to listeners under Deezer’s labeling and recommendation policies even when they are excluded from search for people who enable the switch.
What Deezer already does without the switch
Deezer says detected AI-generated tracks are already removed from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists. The company’s detector program began in January 2025; at launch, Deezer reported finding roughly 10,000 fully AI-generated tracks each day, about 10% of its daily deliveries. That treatment changes what appears in recommendation surfaces, but it is different from allowing a listener to suppress results in search.
In October 2026, Deezer reported that more than 42 million AI-generated tracks had been excluded from recommendations between January 2025 and August 2026, and that more than 14 million albums had been tagged. It also said it was receiving nearly 90,000 fully AI-generated tracks per day, exceeding 50% of all daily deliveries on peak days. Those are Deezer’s own platform measurements, not an independent census of the entire streaming industry.
How Deezer’s separate playlist detector works
Deezer launched a free detector in June 2026 that can scan playlists from 20 major streaming platforms. Deezer claims 99.8% accuracy for that tool. The company says a detected track remains playable, receives an AI label and is kept out of algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists. The scanner is therefore useful for auditing a playlist, while the announced account toggle is intended to change search results.
Does Spotify have an AI-music filter?
Spotify has not documented a global listener switch that removes all fully AI-generated recordings from search. Its announced approach combines artist-identity labels, creator-supplied credits and recommendation rules, so it answers a different question from Deezer’s planned track exclusion.
What an AI Persona badge means
Spotify announced AI Persona badges on August 11, 2026, with rollout beginning in mid-September. The badge identifies an artist profile that may represent an AI-generated identity. An artist can disclose that status, or Spotify can review a profile and apply a badge; reviewed artists are notified and given an opportunity to appeal.
Spotify explicitly separates the badge from the production history of an individual song. A profile may look synthetic even when a particular recording was made by people, and a song can use generative tools without the artist profile receiving an AI Persona badge. Treating the badge as a track-level authenticity verdict would therefore overstate what Spotify says it measures.

How Spotify handles discovery and credits
Spotify says AI Personas will not be included by default in editorial or algorithmic recommendations. A listener who follows an AI Persona can still encounter that music, which means the policy is a default recommendation treatment rather than an absolute block.
Spotify also describes AI Credits, where artists disclose how AI participated in the creative process. The company presents those credits alongside other measures, including Verified by Spotify, SongDNA and Artist Profile Protection. These tools can add context about identity, authorship or process, but the cited announcement does not describe a user-controlled setting that removes every fully AI-generated track from search.
Does Apple Music label AI-generated songs?
Apple Music’s documented mechanism is an optional metadata disclosure supplied with delivered content, not a consumer-facing AI filter. Apple Music Specification 5.3.27 defines an <ai_transparencies> block that suppliers can use when AI is involved in a material portion of a composition, sound recording, music video or artwork.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsWhat the Apple specification requires from suppliers
The specification gives distributors and rights holders a structured place to report material AI use across several asset types. It does not establish that Apple independently detects synthetic music, and the document reviewed does not describe a listener control for hiding AI-generated tracks or searching only for human-made recordings.
The field is optional in the documented specification. If a supplier omits the tag, the specification says that no transparency tag is assumed. That is a statement about metadata interpretation, not confirmation that the work contains no AI contribution. Consequently, an absence of an Apple label cannot be read as a clean bill of human-only production.
What is the difference between Deezer, Spotify and Apple Music’s AI systems?
The services differ in the object they identify and in who controls the resulting visibility. Deezer’s announced control is listener-operated and focused on fully synthetic recordings. Spotify’s badges and credits describe an artist profile or creative process. Apple’s mechanism records supplier disclosures without a documented listener filter.
| Comparison point | Deezer | Spotify | Apple Music |
|---|---|---|---|
| Listener control | Planned toggle excludes fully AI-generated tracks, albums and related artists from search | No cited global exclusion toggle; badges and recommendation treatment are the documented controls | No cited listener filter in the official specification |
| What is identified | Fully AI-generated music; limited AI assistance in human work is treated differently | Possible AI-generated artist identity, plus creator-supplied AI Credits about process | Material AI use disclosed by a supplier for compositions, recordings, videos or artwork |
| Discovery treatment | Detected tracks are excluded from algorithmic and editorial recommendations; the toggle changes search results | AI Personas are excluded from recommendations by default, with followed profiles as an exception | Discovery treatment is not established by the cited specification |
| Detection or disclosure model | Platform detection, labels and a playlist-scanning detector | Artist self-disclosure, Spotify review, badges and AI Credits | Optional supplier-delivered metadata; omitted tags mean no transparency tag is assumed |
Which streaming service lets you avoid AI music?
If your requirement is a documented way to remove fully AI-generated music from search, Deezer is the only option in this comparison that has announced such a control. Its availability depends on the promised rollout, and the setting does not claim to catch every AI-assisted production.

Spotify is more suitable when you want signals about whether an artist identity may be synthetic or how an artist says AI was used. Because followed AI Persona profiles can still surface in recommendations, those labels support informed choices rather than guaranteeing avoidance.
Apple Music is the least prescriptive for listeners in the evidence available here. Its metadata field can improve transparency when suppliers populate it, but there is no documented Apple Music switch that filters AI-generated music and no basis for assuming that an untagged item was made entirely by humans.
What does “fully AI-generated” mean compared with AI-assisted music?
“Fully AI-generated” refers to a work Deezer classifies as created by generative systems rather than a human-led production that merely used software assistance. The practical boundary matters: a producer might use an AI tool to suggest lyrics, separate stems, repair noise or generate a brief texture while retaining human composition and performance decisions. Deezer’s announced toggle is not intended to remove every such recording.
Spotify’s AI Credits are designed to expose that broader range of use, because they can describe the creative process rather than declare that an entire track is synthetic. Apple’s specification likewise speaks about AI in a material portion of an asset, which can include a composition, recording, video or artwork. These categories overlap, but none is interchangeable with the others.

How reliable are the services’ labels and detection claims?
There is no independent, apples-to-apples benchmark in the cited material that tests Deezer, Spotify and Apple Music against the same catalog. Deezer’s figures should therefore be read as company-reported operational results, while Spotify’s badges and Apple’s metadata depend on different review or disclosure pathways.
Deezer and Ipsos reported in 2025 that 97% of respondents in a blind test could not distinguish fully AI-generated music from human-made music. In the same survey, 80% agreed that fully AI-generated music should be clearly labeled, and 73% wanted to know whether a service recommends such music. The results explain the demand for transparency, but they do not measure detector accuracy across all platforms.
Deezer CEO Alexis Lanternier framed the policy as a choice between transparency and listener control, saying the company wanted to respect artists, songwriters and fans. He also said users had asked for the ability to remove AI-generated music from their streaming experience. Those statements describe Deezer’s policy rationale, not an independent validation of the company’s classification system.

How should you use each service’s controls?
When the Deezer toggle reaches your account
- Install the latest Deezer app or use the current web player after the announced rollout window.
- Look in account or playback preferences for the AI-generated-music exclusion setting; Deezer has not published one universal menu path in the announcement.
- Enable the switch and test a known AI-labeled result in search. The expected behavior is exclusion of the track, album and related artist from results, not deletion from Deezer’s catalog.
- If the control is missing, check the account region and app version. A global announcement does not guarantee simultaneous availability for every listener.
When you are evaluating Spotify results
- Check an artist profile for an AI Persona badge and read it as an identity signal, not proof that every song is synthetic.
- Open available track or artist details for AI Credits to see whether the creator disclosed a particular use of AI.
- Remember that following a profile can override the default recommendation treatment, so an AI Persona may still appear in your personal feed.
When you are evaluating Apple Music metadata
- Understand that the transparency block is supplied through the delivery metadata and may not be exposed as a prominent consumer label.
- Do not infer human-only production from a missing tag, because the specification treats omission as no transparency tag assumed.
- Use the metadata as one disclosure signal rather than as an independently verified detection result.
What should listeners expect as these policies change?
AI-music policies are still moving targets. Deezer’s toggle is scheduled for the end of 2026, Spotify’s badges began rolling out in mid-September 2026, and Apple’s behavior depends on how suppliers implement Specification 5.3.27. App updates, regional rollout stages and policy revisions can change what a listener sees without changing the underlying definitions.

Deezer is building a user choice to suppress a defined class of fully synthetic music in search, Spotify is adding context around artist identity and creative use, and Apple is standardizing an optional disclosure channel for suppliers. Checking the wording of each label is more reliable than treating every reference to AI as the same category.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will Deezer’s switch hide songs made with a small amount of AI assistance?
No. Deezer says the planned control targets fully AI-generated tracks and albums, while human-led recordings that use limited AI tools are treated differently. The exact classification of borderline productions may depend on Deezer’s detection and labeling decisions.
Can a Spotify AI Persona still appear in my recommendations?
Yes. Spotify says AI Personas are excluded from recommendations by default, but a listener who follows one may still encounter its music. The badge describes the apparent artist identity, not the provenance of each recording.
Can I search Apple Music for only human-made recordings?
The published Apple Music specification does not document a listener search filter for that purpose. Its optional transparency metadata can be supplied for material AI use, but the absence of a tag does not establish that a recording is entirely human-made.
Are Deezer’s AI-music numbers independently verified?
The published counts, daily delivery estimates and 99.8% detector accuracy are Deezer’s own platform claims. The available material does not provide an independent test using the same catalog and criteria for all three services, so the figures should not be used as a direct cross-service ranking.
When will Deezer’s AI filter be available everywhere?
Deezer announced a global introduction before the end of 2026, but did not give a single date at which every account would receive it. Availability can therefore vary by region, account and app release during the rollout.
