Publisher support guidance states that you do not own what you play through Xbox Game Pass and that purchasing add-ons does not remove the need to purchase the game itself after it leaves. This distinction matters when a store page presents several related products:

The catalog and Xbox Wire show different dates
Refresh the live catalog and locate the newest dated Xbox Wire update. Do not rely on an older post or a cached page. If the Store page displays a purchase option, use its current availability and still verify the departure notice before deciding how urgently to buy.
The game appears on console but not on PC, or vice versa
Check the platform labels in the departure notice and the exact product page. Select the listing made for your intended device; a similarly named product can be a different platform entitlement.
The member discount is missing
Confirm that you are signed in to the subscribing account, then compare the title page, cart and final checkout. “Up to 20%” does not require a discount on every title, and a separate sale can produce a different price.

The game cannot be purchased in your region
Do not substitute an unverified edition or region. Store availability and prices can differ by country, so check the signed-in regional listing and consider finishing before removal if no compatible purchase is offered.
The purchase succeeded but the game still looks like a Game Pass title
