The original PlayStation 2 release of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City has nine programmed radio stations: seven music stations and two talk stations. The complete original-PS2 music guide contains 103 songs, grouped across Wildstyle, Flash FM, Fever 105, V-Rock, Radio Espantoso, Emotion 98.3 and Wave 103. K-Chat and Vice City Public Radio (VCPR) are talk programs, so they do not have song lists. This guide uses the original PS2 lineup as its baseline, then identifies later-release cuts, disputed tracks, custom-music options and the limits of the seven-CD soundtrack box set.

Which songs are on each original PS2 music station?
The tables below list the complete original-PS2 music lineup. An asterisk marks one of eight cuts repeatedly documented as absent from later releases. A dagger marks Lionel Richie’s separate PS2-only exception. A question mark marks a song whose later-release status is disputed by the available lists. Which Vice City songs were removed from later releases?
Eight cuts are repeatedly identified as later-release omissions, while Lionel Richie’s “Running with the Night” is a separate PS2-only case. The distinction matters because the Lionel Richie track disappeared from later original-game PC and Xbox releases, rather than being grouped with the eight commonly cited soundtrack cuts.

GTA Base and GTAside share this eight-song list. GTAside’s “eight songs” figure describes the recurring list of later-release cuts, not a promise that every Definitive Edition build has exactly eight fewer songs than the PS2 version.
The separate Lionel Richie exception
“Running with the Night” appears in the original PS2 Flash FM listing but not in later original-game PC and Xbox releases. It should therefore be labeled separately from the eight-song list.
Why are some other tracks disputed?
In November 2021, Rockstar supplied VGC with an amended list after an incomplete first list. The amended list identifies 11 PS2-original omissions: the eight recurring cuts, Lionel Richie’s song, Trouble Funk’s “Pump Me Up” and Love Fist’s “Fist Fury.” GTA Base and GTAside list “Pump Me Up” and “Fist Fury” as retained, so the available sources do not establish whether those two songs play in every current platform build.

Push Square’s comparison also marked Joe Jackson’s “Steppin’ Out” and the Fixx’s “One Thing Leads to Another” as missing, but Rockstar’s correction explicitly reinstated them. VGC journalist Chris Scullion summarized the correction: “Rockstar has now provided VGC with an updated list, in which practically all the songs that were missing are now included.” The statement concerns the correction to Rockstar’s initial list; it does not say that songs removed because of expired licenses returned everywhere.
Do K-Chat and VCPR have music playlists?
No. K-Chat is Amy Sheckenhausen’s celebrity-interview station, while VCPR broadcasts Maurice Chavez’s discussion program Pressing Issues. They are two of the nine programmed stations, but they are not unlisted music channels and therefore do not have song tables.

Supported original-game ports provide platform-specific custom stations. The feature is separate from the licensed station playlists and should not be assumed to work identically in the Definitive Edition or on every device.
- On the original PC game: place supported
.mp3or.oggfiles in the game’smp3directory. The in-game custom station is called MP3 Player. - On Xbox: the original-game custom station is called Tape.
- On iOS: the original-game custom station is called Tape Deck.
- On the Definitive Edition: use its updated radio-station selection wheel; do not treat the original PC
mp3-folder instructions as a universal method for the remaster.

Is the seven-CD Vice City soundtrack complete?
No. The physical box set is a collection of seven station-themed albums, not a bit-for-bit recording of every in-game radio broadcast. The station CDs do not include K-Chat or VCPR, and their track lists and versions are not guaranteed to match every in-game rotation.

Licensed music rights were not identical across releases, and published comparisons also contain corrected and disputed entries. Do the talk stations ever play licensed songs?
