GoTrusted can be inexpensive and technically flexible, but its 2026 buying decision comes with important qualifications. The service advertises a seven-day trial, several VPN protocols and 136 locations. However, its privacy policy is dated May 1, 2017, the available disclosures distinguish traffic monitoring from connection metadata rather than promising a simple “no logs” policy, Windows support is not uniform across releases, and published device limits conflict. This review assesses GoTrusted’s current public terms and independent coverage; it does not claim personal installation, speed, streaming or support testing.

What is GoTrusted VPN?

GoTrusted is a paid VPN subscription that routes your internet traffic through a provider-operated VPN connection. Its homepage says the company has operated since 2005, supports unlimited usage and offers 136 locations. Those are GoTrusted’s own claims, not independently verified server counts or a complete public inventory of locations. You can review the claims at GoTrusted’s homepage.

The practical reason to consider GoTrusted is breadth: the support FAQ lists eight connection methods, including WireGuard, OpenVPN, IKEv2 and its custom SSL protocol. The practical reasons for caution are equally concrete: an old privacy document, unclear retention detail, conflicting simultaneous-connection limits and operating-system caveats. Treat the service as a product that needs careful verification at checkout and during setup, rather than assuming every advertised feature applies identically to every device.

How much does GoTrusted cost, and what does the seven-day trial include?

The signup page lists three public billing options. The trial requires choosing a plan and entering payment information for billing after the trial. GoTrusted says no billing occurs if you cancel during the seven-day trial. Prices and checkout language can change, so confirm the live page immediately before subscribing at GoTrusted’s signup page.

Plan shown on signup page Advertised effective price How billing is described Important qualification
Monthly $5.99 per month Billed monthly Recurring subscription unless renewal is changed or the plan is canceled
Annual $4.99 per month $59.88 every 12 months The monthly figure is an annualized rate, not a monthly invoice
First two-year term $3.99 per month $95.76 for the first two-year term The page specifically labels this amount as the first two-year term; check what renewal costs afterward
Free trial Seven days Payment details are collected for post-trial billing No billing if canceled during the trial, according to the signup page

Automatic renewal is not an assumption—it is stated in GoTrusted’s signup terms: “Your subscription will continue and renew automatically unless terminated by GoTrusted or until You notify GoTrusted of Your decision to change Your subscription renewal.” Before submitting payment, record the renewal interval, next charge, cancellation method and any refund language displayed in checkout. The reviewed terms do not establish a separate money-back guarantee, and the prices above should not be treated as permanent.

How should you cancel?

  1. Sign in to the GoTrusted account associated with the trial or subscription.
  2. Open the account or subscription-management area and look for renewal, cancellation or plan-change controls.
  3. Turn off renewal or submit the cancellation request before the seven-day trial ends if you do not want a charge.
  4. Save the confirmation email or screen, then check your payment statement after the expected billing date.

If the live account page does not expose a clear cancellation control, use the support contact details on GoTrusted’s support page and retain your request. The public material reviewed here does not specify a guaranteed refund timetable.

Is GoTrusted VPN safe, and does it keep logs?

There is not enough current, specific evidence to call GoTrusted a verified no-logs VPN. The provider says it does not monitor individual session traffic except for general network-performance monitoring, but other coverage describes connection-related information such as session timing and packet sizes. Content monitoring and connection metadata are different privacy questions: a provider may not inspect the content of a session while still recording when a connection occurred or how much data moved.

What GoTrusted’s privacy policy says

The privacy policy is dated May 1, 2017, which is unusually old for a service handling account and payment data. It says registration requires a first and last name, password, valid email login, billing address and one of a valid credit card, PayPal account, corporate payment code or invoicing agreement. It also describes tracking website visits by domain name, browser type and MIME type, plus cookies used for traffic patterns and registration administration. The policy says some information may be provided to third parties when necessary to deliver products and services. Read the dated document at GoTrusted’s privacy policy.

A dated policy is not proof that these practices are still unchanged, nor is it evidence of a recent independent audit. The pages reviewed do not provide a current third-party audit report, a warrant-canary history or a detailed retention schedule. Readers who need strong privacy assurances should ask GoTrusted for a current policy and explicit answers about retention, deletion, legal requests and connection records before paying.

What does “does not monitor individual session traffic” mean?

GoTrusted’s support FAQ states: “With the exception for general network performance monitoring, GoTrusted does not monitor individual session traffic.” That is the provider’s statement, not independent confirmation. TechRadar’s review says GoTrusted may gather connection information including session timing and packet sizes. Therefore, “no logs” is too broad unless a current primary policy clearly defines what is collected, how long it is retained and whether it can be linked to an account. The relevant statements appear in the support FAQ and the TechRadar review.

Which protocols and devices does GoTrusted support?

GoTrusted’s FAQ lists the following protocols: its custom SSL protocol, WireGuard, OpenVPN, IKEv2, Cisco VPN, L2TP, IPSec and PPTP. Availability and configuration can vary by operating system, and some setup details require signing in. The official download page is the authority for current client versions: the result reviewed listed Windows client version 2.4.0.7 and macOS client version 2.4.0.8, but software versions can change.

Platform or method What the official pages say What to verify before setup
Windows 10 Client listed on the download page Current installer version and supported update level
Windows 11 23H2 and earlier Client listed for these releases Whether your exact build is accepted by the current installer
Windows 11 24H2 The page directs users to downgrade to 23H2 or use WireGuard Whether a native client update has since been published
macOS Client listed; reviewed result showed version 2.4.0.8 Current macOS version requirements and installer signature
iPhone and iPad Users are directed to the App Store App availability and current iOS/iPadOS requirements
Android Users are told to sign in for setup details Instructions, supported Android releases and any manual-profile requirements
Manual VPN clients FAQ lists WireGuard, OpenVPN, IKEv2, Cisco VPN, L2TP, IPSec and PPTP Which server files, credentials and regions are available to your account

Check GoTrusted’s download and configuration page immediately before installation. If you run Windows 11 24H2, do not assume the older client will work: use the provider’s WireGuard path or the recommended 23H2 route only after weighing the security and maintenance implications of changing an operating-system release.

What is the safest protocol choice?

For a modern manual configuration, WireGuard is generally the first protocol to investigate because GoTrusted explicitly offers it for newer Windows users. OpenVPN and IKEv2 provide alternatives when a network or device does not support WireGuard. PPTP is listed in the FAQ but is an obsolete protocol by contemporary security standards; its presence in a compatibility list should not be treated as a recommendation for sensitive traffic.

How many simultaneous devices can use one GoTrusted account?

The published limits conflict, so you should not buy on the assumption that a particular number is guaranteed. GoTrusted’s support FAQ recommends up to three desktop connections and four mobile connections, subject to restrictions against bandwidth abuse. A vpnAlert review updated August 12, 2026 lists one simultaneous connection.

Source Limit stated How to interpret it
GoTrusted support FAQ Up to three desktop connections and four mobile connections Provider guidance, with flexibility subject to no bandwidth abuse
vpnAlert review, updated August 12, 2026 One simultaneous connection Independent review figure that conflicts with the FAQ

The source set does not resolve whether the figures refer to different account types, app families or a policy change. Ask support for the limit that applies to your plan and obtain the answer in writing if you need a household or team deployment. A provider-defined “up to” number is not the same as a contractual guarantee.

How many locations does GoTrusted offer, and can it unblock streaming services?

GoTrusted’s homepage claims 136 locations and broad site access, but no independently verified server count or complete public location list is provided in the reviewed material. The FAQ says users can change connection regions in the app. Some location and configuration details may appear only after you sign in.

The homepage also promotes gigabit network capacity and unlimited usage. Those are marketing claims, not measurements supplied by an independent laboratory. vpnAlert published its own speed tests and streaming assessment in its review, but those results belong to that reviewer’s test conditions and should not be presented as personal testing or as a permanent performance guarantee. Read the assessment at vpnAlert’s GoTrusted review.

What should you try if the connection is slow?

  1. Open the app’s location selector and choose a geographically closer region.
  2. Change connection mode or protocol, starting with WireGuard or another protocol supported by your device.
  3. Disconnect other high-bandwidth activity and test again on the same network.
  4. Check whether the problem occurs only on one location; a single overloaded endpoint does not establish a service-wide speed result.
  5. Use the support FAQ’s troubleshooting guidance and contact support if several regions fail.

These steps address common routing and congestion causes, but they cannot establish a guaranteed speed, latency or streaming result. Streaming platforms can also change their VPN-blocking methods without notice.

What support does GoTrusted provide?

The official support page offers email or form-based contact and a phone number. Its FAQ contains protocol, location and slow-connection guidance, although some setup information requires account sign-in. vpnAlert’s reviewer reported finding no functioning live chat and receiving no response within 24 hours during that review. That is the reviewer’s experience, not a current guaranteed response time.

For a support request, include your operating-system version, app version, selected protocol, chosen region, exact error message and the time of the failure. Do not send a password or full payment-card number. Keep the ticket number and any cancellation evidence separately from troubleshooting correspondence.

Is GoTrusted worth subscribing to in 2026?

GoTrusted is most defensible for a reader who values a low listed price, wants several legacy and modern protocol options, and is comfortable checking compatibility and privacy details personally. It is harder to recommend for someone who requires a recently dated privacy policy, independently verified infrastructure, a clearly documented one-account device allowance or dependable live support.

Potential advantages

  • A seven-day trial is advertised, with no charge if canceled during the trial according to the signup page.
  • The listed plans are straightforward: $5.99 monthly, $59.88 annually or $95.76 for the first two-year term.
  • The FAQ names WireGuard, OpenVPN, IKEv2 and other protocols, giving users alternatives when one connection method fails.
  • Location switching and troubleshooting guidance are documented in the provider’s support material.

Material drawbacks

  • The May 1, 2017 privacy policy is too old to serve as strong evidence of current data handling.
  • Connection metadata such as session timing and packet size is discussed in independent coverage, so “no logs” is not an established conclusion.
  • Windows 11 24H2 users may need WireGuard or a move back to 23H2 for the listed client.
  • Device limits conflict between the provider FAQ and an August 2026 independent review.
  • The 136-location, gigabit-capacity and broad-access claims are provider marketing statements without a published independent inventory or benchmark.
  • Automatic renewal requires active cancellation or a renewal change, and the reviewed material does not establish a separate refund guarantee.

vpnAlert gave GoTrusted a 6.6/10 score in its review updated August 12, 2026. That is the reviewer’s rating, not a measurement by this article. Use it as one outside opinion alongside the primary terms and disclosures.

What should you verify before entering payment details?

  1. Confirm the price, billing interval and post-trial renewal amount on the live signup page.
  2. Read the cancellation and refund wording presented at checkout, not only an older policy page.
  3. Ask support which simultaneous-connection limit applies to your account.
  4. Check the download page for your exact operating-system release, especially Windows 11 24H2.
  5. Request current answers about connection-data retention, deletion and third-party disclosures if privacy is your main reason for using a VPN.
  6. Confirm that the locations and protocols you need are available after signing in.

GoTrusted VPN verdict for 2026

GoTrusted is a budget-oriented VPN with a useful protocol list and a trial, but the public evidence does not support an unqualified privacy or reliability endorsement. The dated policy, possible connection metadata, conflicting device limits and Windows-version caveat deserve more weight than the headline “136 locations” claim. Subscribe only after verifying the current checkout terms, your device support and the connection limit that GoTrusted will actually honor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is GoTrusted’s privacy policy current enough for a business VPN account?

The policy page carries a May 1, 2017 document date. That age means an organization should request a current written policy, retention schedule and data-processing terms before routing business traffic through the service.

What payment methods does GoTrusted list for registration?

The privacy policy says registration can use a valid credit card, PayPal account, corporate payment code or invoicing agreement, along with identity and billing details. Confirm which methods are enabled for your region on the live signup form.

Can I use GoTrusted without installing its Windows client?

GoTrusted lists manual protocols such as WireGuard, OpenVPN and IKEv2, so a compatible third-party VPN client may be possible. You would still need the account-specific server addresses, credentials and configuration files that GoTrusted makes available after sign-in.

Does GoTrusted offer live-chat customer service?

The official support material lists email or form contact and a phone number. In its August 2026 review, vpnAlert said it found no functioning live chat and did not receive a response within 24 hours; that report is not a guaranteed statement about current response times.
