Google also says the inference and personal-knowledge search run locally and that the app can work without a network connection. That supports offline use: once the application and any required local components are available, searching the on-device library should not depend on a live server. It does not, by itself, answer every data-governance question. The announcement does not fully document optional connected services, telemetry, retention, export, deletion or administrator controls.

Is Google AI Edge Foresight really offline, and does it upload meeting audio?
Google’s stated position is that Foresight performs local, secure searches and can operate without a network connection. That is the strongest available answer: the advertised inference and retrieval path is on-device. There is no published evidence in the launch material that meeting audio or transcripts must be uploaded for those functions.
At the same time, “offline-capable” is narrower than a complete privacy specification. Google has not provided a full account of telemetry, crash reporting, optional online features, retention, deletion or administrative controls in the material available for this product. What Mac do you need for Foresight?
Secondary reporting describes the app as optimized for Apple Silicon Macs. That is useful guidance, but it is not a complete compatibility guarantee. Google has not published a definitive minimum macOS release, RAM requirement, storage requirement or supported-chip matrix in the available sources.

Do not build an integration around files observed inside the app’s support directory. Updates can change those paths or schemas without notice.
