Genmoji is one of those iOS features that sounds a little gimmicky until you actually try it—and then you realize it changes how you communicate. Instead of settling for the same handful of emoji options, you get a fast, creative way to make reactions feel more like you. And because it lives right inside Messages, it’s less about “playing with an app” and more about using your iPhone to express yourself in real time.
If you’ve been waiting for a meaningful “emoji upgrade” on iPhone, iOS 18.2 delivers. It’s not just new characters—it’s a new way to respond, share, and react, with your personality baked into every message.
