Most Blue Archive crashes and black screens come down to four checks: the game’s region and publisher, whether the account is linked or still a guest, whether the device meets the current minimum specification, and whether a patch or authentication service is failing. Check those before deleting anything. A reinstall can erase an unlinked guest account, while Japan’s service is moving from Yostar to Nexon during a January 2027 maintenance window and requires a completed transfer.

What should I check before trying a fix?
Identify the platform, service region, account type, and exact symptom first. China, Korea, Global and Japan use separate binaries and account systems; a repair for one service does not move a save to another.
- Platform: Android, iOS, Global PC on Steam, or the Japan Yostar PC launcher.
- Region and publisher: Global, Korea, Taiwan, Asia and North America are Nexon services. Japan remains a Yostar service until the publisher-change maintenance planned for January 2027, then moves to Nexon.
- Account: linked Google, Apple, Facebook, Naver, Nexon or Yostar ID, depending on region, versus a guest account.
- Symptom: an immediate crash, a black or frozen display, an authentication error, or a new empty account after sign-in.
Do not uninstall while you are unsure whether the old account is linked. Nexon’s Global FAQ warns: “Please note that if you’re account is a guest account (not linked), data may be lost and all game information may be deleted.”

How do I protect my Blue Archive account before reinstalling?
Link the account inside the game first, then record the linked login method. A guest save is stored locally and may disappear when app data is removed; a linked save can be restored on a clean installation.
- Open Blue Archive and reach the account or settings menu while the old save is still visible.
- Use the region’s available link option: Google, Apple, Facebook, Naver, Nexon or Yostar ID.
- Sign out and back in once, if possible, to confirm that the same account loads. Do not create a second login when a prompt offers one.
- Only after the link is confirmed should you clear data, uninstall, or rename local PC folders.
On Global PC, a Google or Apple button on the Nexon website is a Nexon-account connection; it is not automatically the same identity as tapping Google or Apple inside the mobile app. Link the mobile identity to a Nexon website account before using Steam, or you can end up with two separate cloud accounts.

What are the current Blue Archive device requirements?
Devices below the current minimum may fail to start, crash during loading, or show an unusable screen. Nexon’s 2025 iOS notice says devices that do not meet the minimum “may have difficulty running the game.”

The 2025 iOS line replaced an earlier notice that still listed iPhone 6S and 2GB RAM. Treat iPhone XS, iOS 15.0, 4GB RAM and 15GB free space as the current Global baseline unless a newer official table supersedes it. Keep extra room for a large download, updates and a reinstall; a device that has exactly the minimum free space can still fail when the operating system needs temporary space.
How do I fix Blue Archive crashes and black screens on Android?
Start with the official low-risk sequence: close background apps, optimize the phone, verify free space and requirements, then reconnect. Reinstall only after the account is linked.
Android crash and loading checklist
- Open Recent Apps and clear the list. On some phones, Close All also closes Blue Archive; reopen it afterward.
- Go to Settings → Device Care → Optimize Now. Names vary by manufacturer, but the goal is to release memory and stop competing background processes.
- Compare the phone with the minimum and recommended table above. Free at least the required 15GB, preferably 30GB on devices covered by the Taiwan recommendation.
- Use Wi-Fi for the initial or unrestricted data download if a mobile-data cap interrupts it.
- For a black screen during play, close the game completely and reconnect. This is Nexon’s official first step.
- If the black screen remains, uninstall and reinstall from the official store. On Android, Nexon gives the path Menu → Settings → Apps → Blue Archive → Uninstall.
- If a fresh installation is still black, stop repeating reinstalls and contact support with the device model, Android version and a description of when the screen turns black.
When the image is cropped or not truly black
Some Android phones need the game’s full-screen permission. Open Device Settings → Display → Full Screen Apps and enable full screen for Blue Archive. This addresses a display-layout problem, not an account or server failure.

What about BlueStacks and YostarRequestFail:GEETEST_FAIL?
Emulators are not presented by Nexon as officially supported. A Japanese community wiki documents YostarRequestFail:GEETEST_FAIL on BlueStacks with Android 11 when Chrome auto-updates. Its reported workaround is to remove Chrome updates or disable Chrome auto-update; the same page says BlueStacks 5.22.100 and later reportedly fixed the cause for some users. Community comments also describe High-performance mode on BlueStacks 5.22.x restoring play in some July 2026 cases.
These are community workarounds, not a guarantee. Do not use macros or automation: they violate the game rules. A linked account can be used on a phone after closing the emulator; the community Q&A says the save is not wiped when a Yostar ID or transfer code is linked.
How do I fix Blue Archive black screens and crashes on iPhone or iPad?
Close the app, reconnect, and check the iOS 15/iPhone XS baseline. If the official black-screen sequence reaches a reinstall, protect the account first because the same guest-data warning applies on iOS.
- Open the app switcher. On iPhone X and later, swipe up from the bottom and pause, then swipe Blue Archive up. On older iPhones with a Home button, press Home twice and swipe the app up.
- Launch the game again and reconnect on a stable Wi-Fi network.
- If the display remains black, delete the app and reinstall it. You can also clear Safari data first through Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data, then reinstall.
- Confirm that the device runs iOS 15.0 or later, is at least an iPhone XS for the Global minimum, has 4GB RAM, and has 15GB free storage. The Taiwan recommendation is iOS 16, iPhone 14, 6GB RAM and 30GB storage.
If iOS starts a new account instead of the old one
Do not delete the app. On 20 January 2026, the Japan official account reported that unusual system settings on some iOS devices could open a new account instead of the existing one. It said the original data had not been deleted or initialized and explicitly instructed players not to uninstall. Treat a “fresh” opening as an authentication or settings problem: stop, check the intended linked ID, and contact support.

After an official patch
If the Japan official account says a display issue was fixed, restart once and allow the data download to finish. A 28 October 2026 notice used exactly that process; do not assume the installation is corrupted until restart and patch download fail.

Why won’t Blue Archive launch on Global PC?
Global PC is distributed through Steam and uses a Nexon-native website account. Confirm that identity first, then work through Steam and graphics troubleshooting.
- Sign in to the Nexon website account linked to the mobile save. A Google or Apple sign-in on the website is not automatically the in-app mobile identity.
- Confirm that Steam has enough free disk space for the larger PC build before verifying or reinstalling files.
- In Steam, use the game’s file-verification command after closing the client.
- Install the latest graphics driver directly from the NVIDIA, AMD or Intel vendor, then reboot.
- On a laptop with integrated and dedicated graphics, assign Blue Archive to the dedicated GPU in the operating system or vendor control panel.
- If the window is black or fails to display, community PC troubleshooting suggests trying the launch options
-windowedor-dx11, and trying “Run as administrator.” These are additional hygiene steps, not Nexon’s official guarantee.
Renaming %LocalLow%Nexon Games resets local data. Do that only after confirming a linked Nexon account, because local settings and cached files will be discarded. Linux and Steam Deck compatibility are listed by community installation documentation, but Nexon’s support path is centered on the Windows/Steam configuration.
Why does the Japan PC client crash, freeze, or show XIGNCODE3?
The Japan Yostar PC client has its own anti-cheat and publisher deadline. Keyboard macros, AutoHotKey and Cheat Engine can force-close the game because assist tools are forbidden by the terms of service.
XIGNCODE3 or immediate boot failure
- Exit macro, automation and memory-editing tools before starting Blue Archive.
- Check the generated
xigncode.logand use the XIGNCODE vendor’s FAQ or support channel when the log identifies a block. - If the block persists, reinstall the game, reinstall the GPU driver and review antivirus exclusions for a false positive. Contact Yostar/Nexon support rather than trying to bypass the anti-cheat.
High CPU, fans or a freeze
A Japanese community troubleshooting page reports that V-Sync can leave frame rate uncapped in some environments. In the game, open top-right menu → Options → Graphics → V-Sync and try turning it OFF. For a freeze, Alt+F4 closes the client; F10 quits and F11 toggles full screen. Gamepads are supported.
How long will the current Japan PC client work?
The official transfer FAQ states: “現在の「ブルーアーカイブPC版」は、パブリッシャー変更のメンテナンス開始前までご利用いただけます。” In English, the current Blue Archive PC version remains available only until publisher-change maintenance begins. Nexon is preparing a replacement PC environment and a web purchase path, but no date or platform has been announced; Nexon has not confirmed Steam for Japan. This is a deadline, not an immediate shutdown on 29 October 2026.
How do I fix a Blue Archive login error or an account that looks new?
A login error is often an account or publisher mismatch, not a damaged installation. Do not delete the app while the correct identity is uncertain.

Global, Korea, Taiwan, Asia and North America
- Use the same linked provider used when the save was created. A Google, Apple, Facebook, Naver or Nexon button can lead to different accounts if you choose a different provider.
- On Steam, sign in to the linked Nexon website account; mobile in-app SSO alone is insufficient.
- If the game opens an empty tutorial account, stop at once. Check the account-link screen and contact customer service with the player name, user number, server/region and purchase receipts if available. Do not progress the empty account or delete the app while investigating.
Japan’s January 2027 publisher change
Japan is a separate transition. Nexon’s official transfer page is https://cmn-jp.nexon.com/transfer/bluearchive/.
The page states: “ゲストアカウントの状態では引き継ぎできません。” (A guest account cannot be transferred.) It also says: “引き継ぎの手続きをしないと、パブリッシャー変更メンテナンス後に同じゲームアカウントでログインできなくなります。” (Without the transfer procedure, you will not be able to log in with the same game account after the publisher-change maintenance.) Finally, Yostar ID “will no longer be usable with Blue Archive” when the January 2027 maintenance ends.
- Before maintenance, link the Japan save to a Yostar ID. A guest account cannot be moved.
- Submit the pre-application on the transfer page when the November 2026 procedure opens. The exact January maintenance start and end times had not been published as of 29 October 2026.
- After maintenance, sign in with a Nexon member account. Register at https://jp.nexon.com/regist/?gm=portal if needed; a phone number is not required.
- If the account was created only through X (Twitter), register a new Nexon member account. One Nexon member account binds to one Blue Archive account, so separate saves require separate Nexon member accounts.
Transferred game data includes paid and free Pyroxene, packages, items and remaining time on timed items. Yostar ID personal information such as name and address does not carry over, while in-game greeting, introduction and chat text does. Use serial codes before maintenance. Nexon listed a transfer package of 100 free recruits, one Special Anniversary 3-star Student Select Ticket, 24,600,000 Credits, 75 Supreme Reports, 250 Advanced Reports, 1,585 Advanced Enhancement Pearls, 8,175 Universal Blueprint Set Boxes and 2,000 AP; distribution dates were still to be announced.
Japan’s schedule currently lists the announcement on 25 October 2026, transfer instructions in November, the publisher switch in January 2027, and Blue Archive Fes on 23–24 January 2027. The Chinese service remains with Yostar; Global and other Nexon regions do not use this Japan transfer procedure.
Could the network or a patch be the real cause?
Yes. Large data downloads can fail on capped cellular connections, and a just-released patch can require a restart before the corrected files are installed.
- Switch to reliable Wi-Fi for the initial download and updates.
- Restart after an official notice says a fix is delivered through data download.
- Do not use a VPN as a routine crash fix. Community pages discuss VPN access to region-locked Japanese stores, but that is not Nexon’s recommended repair and may conflict with store or game terms.
- Check the official Japan notices and contact page at https://bluearchive.jp/, including the official account @Blue_ArchiveJP, for service-specific incidents.
When should I contact support?
Contact support after the account is linked, the device meets the requirements, the official close/reconnect path is complete, and one clean reinstall has failed. Repeating deletion can destroy the evidence and, for guests, the save.

Include the region and publisher, platform and model, OS version, account-link method (never send a password), exact error text, when the problem began, whether Wi-Fi or cellular is affected, and screenshots or logs such as xigncode.log. No publisher has released a crash-rate, black-screen incidence or login-failure percentage, so there is no responsible percentage estimate to use when deciding which symptom is “most common.”
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I lose my Blue Archive account if I uninstall the app?
You can lose a guest account because its data may be stored only on the device. Link the save to the region’s supported provider and verify the link before uninstalling; linked accounts can be restored after reinstalling.
Can I use my Japan Blue Archive account on the Global server?
No. Japan, Global, Korea, Taiwan and China use separate binaries and account graphs. The Japan transfer moves the Japan service from Yostar to Nexon; it does not convert a Japan save into a Global account.
Why does Blue Archive keep opening the tutorial after I sign in?
Usually the selected provider or region is different from the one holding the original save. Stop playing the new tutorial, check the original linked ID and contact the correct regional support team; do not uninstall while the account state is unclear.

The official troubleshooting material is written for Android phones and tablets, not emulators. Community reports describe workarounds for a BlueStacks GEETEST_FAIL error, but emulator behavior can change and macros or automation tools can trigger anti-cheat closures.
What happens to Yostar ID after Japan changes publisher?
Yostar ID stops being usable for Blue Archive when the January 2027 publisher-change maintenance ends. A completed transfer and a Nexon member account are required to continue using the same Japan game account.
