The 16 October notes for other platforms are not a substitute for the Switch 2 status. Capcom told Switch 2 players on 18 October that their update was still in development; that wait ended with the 27 October release.

Which Switch 2 game copy are you updating?
Make sure the software on the HOME menu is the Switch 2 SKU rather than an original-Switch listing or a different platform version. The Switch 2 package launched with both the base game and the Dark Arisen Expansion, so there is no separate Switch 2 expansion purchase to patch.

- Extra headroom: Nintendo says additional storage may be required depending on the hardware and how it is used. Keep substantially more free space than the listing minimum instead of trying to calculate a patch size Capcom has not published.

How do I check whether the game is up to date?
The reliable Switch 2 check is the system’s own software-update result. If the software-information screen says the game is current, the installed copy includes the newest update available to it at that moment.

Why is the Switch 2 sleep-mode fix important?
Before 4.1, player comments collected by Nintendo Life on 18 October 2026 described freezes when returning from sleep. Capcom’s own Switch 2 notes specifically address unusually long loading or freezes when waking the game in handheld mode, making that path the most relevant regression check for this platform.
After the update reports as complete, resume a handheld session from sleep and observe whether loading returns normally. Nintendo Life commenters reported different on-console totals after the update, including 75.9 GB and 49.6 GB, and a fresh reinstall reported at 49.6 GB. Those are unverified player reports and may reflect leftover update data; they are not official storage specifications. For a successful install, follow the console’s available-space warning and retain extra room rather than relying on a single listing number.
Does a Game-Key Card still need the update?
Yes. The physical Switch 2 edition is a Game-Key Card, so it still requires a download and uses the same HOME-menu software-information update path as the eShop edition. The card does not make the game independent of internet access or storage.
Insert the card, let the required game data download, and then run the system update check. If the card is removed or the console is offline, the installed software cannot complete the download or verify a newer title update.

Does 4.1 change frame rate, resolution or graphics modes?
No such change appears in the Switch 2 4.1 notes. The update list does not mention frame-rate modes, resolution or frame generation, so it should not be presented as a performance-mode patch.
For context, producer Naoto Oyama told howtovideogame that the game targets 30 FPS in both handheld and TV modes and offers optional interpolation intended to look equivalent to 60 FPS. Oyama said interpolation can struggle in some situations and that a slight ghosting effect remains. Digital Foundry’s 12 October 2026 pre-4.1 report counted a 540p docked internal resolution, described the standard 30 FPS mode as having poor frame pacing, and observed an unlocked range of about 35 to 50 FPS. Its report measured about 130 ms of input latency with frame generation. None of those observations is identified by Capcom as changed in Title Update 4.1.
Is Hard Mode included on Switch 2?
Capcom’s 4.1 Switch 2 notes do not confirm Hard Mode. Title Update 4.0, dated 9 October 2026 on Capcom’s page for PS5 Pro, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam, added Hard Mode, carry-over restart, the Orienteer specialization and Dark Arisen support features for those platforms. Will your existing save continue after updating?

Save Data Cloud is supported for the Switch 2 game with Nintendo Switch Online, but that service backs up Switch saves only. howtovideogame reports that Capcom has not announced a method to move a PS5, Xbox or Steam save to Switch 2, so a player changing platforms should plan for a fresh Switch 2 adventure unless Capcom later announces a transfer feature.
