Yes, but compatibility depends on the Turtle Beach model and how you connect it. The Recon Cloud Hybrid Controller is the clearest choice for cloud gaming: Xbox describes it as designed for Xbox and cloud gaming, with Bluetooth support for Android 8.0+ and Windows PCs. The Stealth Ultra and Rematch Core also support Windows PC games, but their wireless options differ. For Xbox Cloud Gaming, check both the controller’s documented connection mode and the phone, PC, TV, or other device running the game.
Does a Turtle Beach controller work with Xbox Cloud Gaming?
It can, provided the controller’s connection method is supported by the device running the cloud game. Xbox says compatible Bluetooth-enabled wireless controllers can be used for cloud gaming; its examples include Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Adaptive Controller, DualSense, and DualShock 4. That guidance does not name every Turtle Beach model, so compatibility should be assessed model by model rather than assumed for the brand as a whole.

Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallThe Recon Cloud is the most clearly positioned for this use. Xbox’s product page calls it “Designed for Xbox & Cloud Gaming” and says it is built for wireless gaming on Android 8.0+ devices and Windows PCs, as well as wired gaming on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PCs. Its Bluetooth connection is the documented wireless route for Android and Windows; on Xbox consoles, the stated connection is wired.
That distinction matters because cloud gaming happens on the host device, not on the controller. A Bluetooth-compatible phone or PC still needs to support the particular controller and cloud-gaming service. For a TV, browser, or app, check that host’s controller support too; the product information here does not establish compatibility with every TV model, browser, or cloud-gaming app.

Can I use a Turtle Beach controller for PC games?
Yes. The Recon Cloud, Stealth Ultra, and Rematch Core each have documented Windows compatibility, though their connection choices are different. Compatibility with Windows does not by itself guarantee that every individual PC game will recognize every button or feature, so check the game’s own controller options if input does not work as expected.
| Controller | Documented Windows connection | Other documented compatibility | Cloud-gaming detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Recon Cloud Hybrid Controller | Wired USB or Bluetooth | Android 8.0+ by Bluetooth; Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One by cable | Xbox describes it as designed for Xbox and cloud gaming |
| Stealth Ultra | Wireless USB transmitter, Bluetooth, or wired USB | Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One by transmitter or wired USB; Bluetooth is listed for Windows PCs and supported devices | Cloud use depends on the host device supporting the selected connection |
| Rematch Core | Wired USB; Windows 10/11 | Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One | Wired connection; no specific cloud-gaming positioning is stated |
The Stealth Ultra offers the most connection choices among these three documented models for PC: a wireless USB transmitter, Bluetooth, or a wired USB connection. Its product page lists battery life of up to 30 hours, but does not state the conditions for that figure. The Rematch Core is a simpler wired option. Turtle Beach says it is plug-and-play and designed for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10/11.
Which connection should I use?
Choose the connection listed for your exact model and host. A controller may work with Windows through one method but not another on a phone or console; “wireless” is not a single universal compatibility mode.

The Recon Cloud’s Xbox product page lists its device weight as 0.67 lb; it does not state a publication year for that specification. The same page lists the detachable cable length as 10 ft/3 m. These figures describe the product listing, not a guarantee about fit or comfort for every player.
How do I connect a Turtle Beach controller for cloud gaming?
Start by matching the controller’s documented connection to the device that will run the cloud game. Then connect it before opening the game, so the host and game have a chance to detect the controller.
- Identify the model. Check the controller name and confirm whether it is Recon Cloud, Stealth Ultra, or Rematch Core. Do not assume another Turtle Beach model has the same wireless support.
- Choose a supported connection. For a phone, Recon Cloud’s documented wireless option is Bluetooth on Android 8.0 or later. For Windows, the documented options vary by model as shown above. Rematch Core is wired.
- Connect the controller to the host device. Use Bluetooth pairing where the model and host support it, the USB cable for a wired connection, or the Stealth Ultra transmitter where supported. The exact pairing screens and labels depend on the device and operating system.
- Open the cloud-gaming service and check input. If the service or game does not respond, confirm that the host shows the controller as connected and that the game accepts controller input. A successful connection to the device does not establish that every game supports every controller feature.
Xbox’s cloud-gaming guidance, published on Xbox Wire on November 20, 2024, describes using compatible Bluetooth-enabled wireless controllers. Treat that as host-and-controller guidance, not a promise that every Bluetooth controller works with every cloud app or device.

What should I do if the controller is not detected?
Check the connection path first. Many apparent compatibility problems come from using a connection mode that is not documented for that controller and host, or from expecting one mode to work everywhere.
- For a wired controller: reconnect the USB cable and verify that the host recognizes the controller before launching the game. Rematch Core is specified as plug-and-play, but Turtle Beach also recommends downloading its PDP Control Hub app from the Microsoft Store to make sure the controller has the latest firmware.
- For Bluetooth: confirm that both the controller model and the host support Bluetooth for the intended use. Recon Cloud lists Bluetooth for Android 8.0+ and Windows PCs; Stealth Ultra lists Bluetooth for Windows PCs and supported devices.
- For the Stealth Ultra transmitter: use the transmitter for a host and platform where Turtle Beach lists it as supported. Its product information lists the transmitter for Xbox and Windows PCs, not as a universal phone connection.
- If the host detects the controller but a game does not: check that game’s input settings and restart the game after connecting the controller. Windows compatibility is not a guarantee that every PC title exposes identical controller support.
Do not install or rely on a model-specific app as a universal fix. The firmware recommendation in Turtle Beach’s FAQ applies to Rematch Core; it is not a claim that all three models require the same app or update process.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a Turtle Beach controller on a Chromebook?
The compatibility information cited here specifies Windows PCs and, for Recon Cloud, Android 8.0+ devices; it does not establish Chromebook support. Check the exact controller’s compatibility listing and the Chromebook’s support for its connection type before relying on it.
Will a Turtle Beach controller work with cloud games on a smart TV?
There is no universal answer for smart TVs: support depends on the TV model, its operating system, the cloud-gaming service, and the controller’s connection mode. Confirm all four before purchasing or troubleshooting.
Does a wired Turtle Beach controller need charging?
The Rematch Core is a wired controller, so its documented connection is USB rather than a wireless link. The cited product information does not state battery specifications for the other models beyond the Stealth Ultra’s listed battery-life figure.
Does the Recon Cloud include a phone clip?
The cited Xbox product details establish its Android Bluetooth support and detachable cable length, but do not establish whether a phone clip is included. Check the package contents for the exact listing and region.
