If you miss one, guides say you can return to that chapter from the campaign menu. The official achievement list confirms an all-campaign collectible goal, but does not document the save mechanics, so verify your tally in the War Journal rather than assuming a pickup is saved immediately.
What carries over—and what the evidence confirms
Xbox Wire’s September 9, 2026 achievement list includes “Memories From E-Day,” described as “Find all Collectibles in the Campaign (any difficulty).” The list covers campaign achievements across Acts 1 through 5, establishing that the collectible goal spans the campaign rather than ending with an individual chapter.

For the mechanics behind that goal, a Gamer Social Club review dated October 1, 2026 reports that collectibles are organized by act and chapter, and that replaying a chapter does not remove previously collected items from the overall tally. A TechWiser Act 1 collectibles guide likewise says individual chapters can be replayed from the campaign menu to find missed items.
Those chapter-replay and persistence details come from secondary reporting, not official save-system documentation. The available sources do not establish whether a collectible found during replay is saved as soon as it is picked up or only after the chapter is completed.

How to recover a missed campaign collectible
- Open the campaign menu and select the option to replay the chapter where the item was missed. The guide reports chapter replay is available, but does not specify the exact menu labels.
- Find and collect the missed item during that replay.
- Check the War Journal’s collectible tally after replaying to confirm the item is counted. Do not assume that quitting before the chapter ends preserves a newly collected item; that save detail is not established by the available reporting.
Keep campaign collectibles separate from beta progression
The official Gears of War beta FAQ discusses a different system: some open-beta rewards carry over to launch, while class progression, player level, and other medal progress reset. Those statements concern beta multiplayer progression; they do not explain whether campaign collectibles persist between chapters.
As of October 3, 2026, Xbox lists Gears of War: E-Day for release on October 6, 2026. Its Xbox product page describes Xbox Series X|S and PC availability and shared progression through Play Anywhere. That cross-platform feature is separate from the chapter replay and collectible-save behavior discussed here.
