Cyberpunk 2077 does not have one universal PC requirement. CD PROJEKT RED publishes separate targets for 1080p low, 1080p high, 1440p ultra, 4K ultra, ray tracing, and RT Overdrive. The practical starting point is the official minimum: 1080p on the Low preset at an average of 30 FPS. Higher resolutions, ray tracing, and path tracing require their own CPU, GPU, memory, and SSD tiers; meeting a standard Ultra row does not automatically qualify a system for RT Overdrive.

What PC do I need for Cyberpunk 2077?

CD PROJEKT RED describes the minimum this way: “The changes to the minimum requirements are a reflection of our new standard of requirements, which we believe better represent the minimum PC configuration required to run the game at 1080p, while maintaining an average of 30 FPS at low preset.” That statement applies to the published minimum target; it does not promise the same result on every PC that looks similar on paper.
Can my PC run Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p?
For 1080p, compare your complete system with either the Low minimum or the High target. The Low row is the compatibility test, while High is the appropriate reference if you want a sharper preset without enabling ray tracing.

The minimum tier is intended for 1080p gameplay on Low at an average of 30 FPS. It still requires the specified CPU, graphics card, RAM, operating-system tier, and SSD; a compatible GPU alone is not enough. If any one of those parts falls below the row, lower settings may help image quality or frame pacing, but they do not turn an unsupported storage or memory configuration into an official match.
1080p High
The High row is a separate official configuration for standard rendering. Select it when your monitor is 1920×1080 and you want the High preset rather than Low. Do not read the row as a universal 60-FPS promise: the published requirement framework identifies the target configuration, while exact frame rates depend on the specific hardware, driver, crowd density, and upscaling settings.

What GPU do I need for Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p?
Use the official 1440p Ultra row, not the 1080p High row, as your hardware reference. A 2560×1440 image contains substantially more pixels than 1080p, and Ultra settings add their own workload even when ray tracing remains disabled.
Check the graphics card, processor, system memory, and SSD listed for the 1440p target as a package. Resolution, preset quality, ray tracing, and upscaling are independent choices: enabling an upscaler can reduce rendering load, but it does not change which official tier your unscaled hardware belongs to. Yes, CD PROJEKT RED publishes a 4K Ultra target for standard rendering. It is the most demanding resolution-and-preset reference in the non-ray-traced framework, so compare your full system with that row before assuming a 4K monitor will be comfortable.
4K Ultra and 4K with ray tracing are different decisions. The former uses the standard Ultra requirement; the latter uses the separate RT guidance and may require a much faster GPU. If your hardware is between tiers, reducing the preset or output resolution is a more predictable adjustment than assuming a 4K label guarantees a fixed frame rate.

What are the Cyberpunk 2077 ray-tracing requirements?
Ray tracing has its own official configurations. A system that satisfies 1080p High, 1440p Ultra, or 4K Ultra with ray tracing disabled should not automatically be described as meeting an RT target.
RT presets
CD PROJEKT RED lists separate CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, and operating-system combinations for ray-traced presets. Match the row for the resolution and RT preset you intend to use, then consider upscaling as an additional setting rather than a replacement for the requirement.
RT Overdrive and path tracing

Because path tracing changes the rendering workload, choose RT Overdrive first, then select resolution and upscaling. Do not extrapolate from a standard Ultra graphics card or from a non-RT benchmark.

Do I need an SSD for Cyberpunk 2077?
Yes. The current requirements framework includes an SSD in the supported configurations. Storage is a prerequisite alongside the CPU, GPU, RAM, and operating system, not an optional performance accessory.
