Where do you get the game’s current system requirements?
Use the latest publisher or authorized-store specification page available for the exact edition. Record the page’s update date or the date you accessed it so your conclusion has a time boundary.
Copy minimum and recommended entries separately. Capture every field the page provides:
- Operating-system edition and version
- Processor model
- Graphics processor model
- System memory (RAM)
- Storage capacity
- Whether an SSD is required or recommended
- Graphics API, such as a stated DirectX version
- Dedicated video memory or other GPU-memory condition
- Internet connection, launcher, account or other stated requirement

- Processor and installed RAM: open Settings > System > About. Note the processor’s full model name and the installed RAM amount. Windows labels can vary by release, so copy the model text rather than relying on a shortened family name.
- Graphics processor: open Task Manager, choose the Performance tab and inspect each GPU entry. Record the complete model and, where shown, dedicated GPU memory. If more than one adapter appears, identify which one the game is configured to use.
- Windows version: in Settings > System > About, record the Windows edition and version/build information that the requirements page asks for.
- Free storage: open File Explorer > This PC and check free space on the drive where the game will be installed. Capacity alone is not an SSD guarantee; verify the drive type if the publisher specifies an SSD.

If Windows reports a generic adapter name or the model is unclear, use a reputable system-information utility or the computer manufacturer’s support documentation to identify the exact component. Do not compare “8 GB graphics” or “gaming PC” labels without the model.
How do you compare your PC with minimum and recommended requirements?
Compare each named component directly. Matching one number cannot compensate for a different component below minimum—for example, extra RAM does not make an underpowered GPU pass.

Use one of these precise outcomes, always naming the game, edition and date of the specification you checked:
- Below a listed minimum: at least one required component or condition is below the publisher’s minimum.

- Meets the listed recommended specification on paper: the recorded machine matches every published recommended item and condition.

“On paper” matters. Minimum and recommended tables are not guarantees of frame rate, settings, stability or an enjoyable experience. They are eligibility targets supplied by the publisher or store.

Is meeting minimum specs enough?
Usually, minimum is the threshold for attempting the game, not a promise of a particular experience. A machine that barely meets minimum may require lower visual settings, reduced resolution or other compromises, while the publisher’s recommended target is the stronger paper match.
Do not convert a minimum match into a performance claim. There is no organizer-published FPS result, hardware-pass rate or cross-nominee benchmark that establishes how every nominee performs on a given class of PC.

If the shortfall is software-related rather than hardware-related, diagnose that issue separately. Cleanup or repair software cannot make under-spec hardware meet a game’s minimum requirements.
