- Patch or platform dependency: A copy may need a particular update, operating-system support or account sign-in before it works.

Can owners of a digital copy keep playing?
An already-owned digital copy will often remain in the purchaser’s platform library and may continue to launch. However, access is controlled by the platform account and the game’s technical requirements, so there is no universal promise that every delisted title can always be redownloaded.
Check the practical conditions before assuming your copy is safe:
- Ownership: Confirm that the transaction was completed on the same PlayStation Network or Steam account you are using now. A family member’s account, a subscription entitlement or a temporary license can behave differently from a purchase.

The notice calls the action temporary and says emergency maintenance is in progress, but it gives no date for restored online play or resumed sales. Treat the status as changeable rather than as a permanent retirement announcement.

If Street Fighter V is already installed, retaining that installation reduces one risk. If it is not installed, check the owned-games library and download controls now rather than relying on a future store search. A successful download today still does not guarantee that online play will return, because downloading the program and operating the publisher’s servers are separate issues.

Physical ownership is therefore a fallback for access to the software, not a guarantee of every feature.
The commonly searched packaged edition is Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. Product reporting describes packaged PlayStation 4 and PC versions that include the original and Arcade Edition content. Before buying a used or new package, verify:

Publisher support guidance for retired online services follows this distinction: some games or features may remain usable offline, while online features are no longer available. - You do not own the game and want online play: Wait for a clear service-status update rather than assuming a physical package guarantees access.
- You are considering a different Street Fighter release: Check that title’s platform listing, server policy and offline modes separately. Delisting one release does not prove that every other release has the same status.
