Yes—Agentik can give compatible AI assistants a single MCP connection to a catalog of supported third-party tools and let those tools draw from one prepaid workspace balance. The arrangement simplifies account and payment setup, exposes a price before many runs, and keeps receipts in one place. It does not merge your model-provider invoice, existing provider subscriptions, or tools that are unavailable or unauthorized in your workspace. Agentik’s controls are also optional: you must configure execution keys, tool restrictions, and spending caps yourself, then verify that the selected tool supports bounded reservations.
What is Agentik, and how does one MCP connection work?
Agentik is a hosted gateway built around the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Instead of configuring a separate integration and payment method for every supported service, you connect an MCP-compatible assistant to Agentik once. The assistant can then search Agentik’s catalog, inspect a tool’s inputs and price, and request an execution through that connection.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Agentik’s home page names Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and other MCP-compatible clients. Client-specific conditions still apply; for example, access to a ChatGPT custom app depends on the user’s ChatGPT plan. The setup is therefore a common connection layer, not a promise that every assistant or every catalog item will work for every account.
The company currently advertises “2,400+ tools from 52 providers.” That is a time-sensitive, company-stated catalog count, not an independently audited total. Catalog contents, client support and prices can change, so check the live workspace before designing a production workflow.

Can one credit balance pay for every tool an agent uses?
A shared workspace balance can fund supported paid calls across the tools enabled for that workspace. It does not become a universal wallet for unrelated provider accounts, and it does not pay the model that decides which tool to call.
What the shared balance covers
- Paid operations that are available through Agentik and accepted by the tool’s contract draw down prepaid Agentik credit.
- Agentik describes those tool calls as billed at the provider’s price with no markup on the tool call itself.
- Free tools, when available, can run without consuming paid credit, although availability and eligibility are subject to the current catalog.
What remains separate
- Your model or assistant provider can charge separately for tokens, messages, seats or subscriptions.
- An existing balance, API key or subscription at a direct provider is not transferred into Agentik.
- Agentik spending does not cancel a provider subscription or combine with a model-provider invoice.
Think of the balance as a prepaid account for eligible Agentik executions, not as a replacement for every account involved in an agent workflow.
How do you connect an AI assistant to Agentik?
The basic connection takes an account sign-in, a setup instruction supplied to the assistant, and browser approval. Exact labels can vary by client, so follow the current instructions shown in your Agentik workspace rather than copying an old screenshot.
- Sign in to Agentik. Create or open the workspace that will own the balance and execution keys.
- Open the MCP connection instructions. Copy the setup instruction for your assistant or client.
- Give the instruction to the assistant. The assistant uses it to request the Agentik connection and discover the available tools.
- Approve in a browser. Complete the authorization page and return to the client.
- Confirm the connection. Ask the assistant to list a harmless tool or search the catalog before attempting a paid operation.
Use a separate execution key for each agent or trust level when possible. That makes it easier to revoke one agent, restrict its tools, or change its budget without changing every other connection.
How do discovery, pricing and execution work?
An agent normally moves through four stages: find a suitable tool, inspect its contract, request execution, and review the resulting run and receipt. Keeping those stages distinct prevents a natural-language request from silently becoming an unbounded purchase.
1. Search the catalog
Ask the connected assistant to search by capability, input type or provider. Treat search results as candidates, not guarantees. A listing may not be enabled for your workspace or available at the moment you need it.

Before approving a paid call, read the required inputs, the quoted or estimated price, whether the tool has a guaranteed maximum, and any provider-specific restrictions. A tool that appears to fit the task may still require a particular region, license or acceptable-use condition.

3. Request the execution
Provide the inputs and ask the assistant to show the selected tool and expected spend. The execution key determines which tools and limits apply. A prompt such as “stay under $20” is only an instruction to the model; it is not a backend enforcement mechanism.
4. Review the run
Record the run ID, state, output and receipt. The receipt is the authoritative place to see what was reserved, what was consumed and what was released or charged.
What happens between a reservation and the final charge?
For a tool with a bounded reservation, Agentik reserves the amount specified by the tool contract before dispatch. Settlement then follows measured consumption, and unused reservation is released. The reservation is not automatically the final price.
Bounded tools
A bounded tool states a maximum or otherwise supports a reservation that can be enforced. If the operation consumes less than the reserved amount, the unused portion returns to the available balance after settlement. Check the receipt rather than estimating the release yourself.
Actual-cost tools
Some tools are explicitly actual-cost. Their reservation is an estimate, and the final provider usage can exceed it. Agentik’s terms say this can create a negative paid balance; new executions stop until the workspace is funded again. That is a limitation of the tool contract, not a reason to bypass a configured cap.
Partial, interrupted or uncertain runs
A partial result or a broken connection can still have consumed billable provider resources. An uncertain run may retain its reservation while Agentik reconciles the provider response. Check the run ID, state and receipt before assuming that an error means an automatic refund. Retrying immediately can dispatch the same operation twice.
How can you set a daily spending limit for each AI agent?
Agentik’s execution keys can carry permissions, tool restrictions and optional hourly, daily, lifetime and per-tool caps. Separate keys let several agents share a workspace balance while receiving different authority.

- Create or select an execution key for the specific agent or workflow.
- Restrict the tool set to the capabilities that agent actually needs.
- Enter the desired limits for hourly, daily, lifetime and per-tool spending where the interface offers them.
- Save the key and re-open its settings to verify that the values persisted.
- Test with a low-cost or free tool and inspect the resulting receipt before granting the key to an autonomous agent.
Creating a key does not automatically create a daily cap. A rate limit is different: it controls how many requests can pass in a period, not how much those requests cost. Many inexpensive calls can stay under a request-rate limit while exceeding a spending target.
Tools without a guaranteed maximum may be blocked when you use a capped key because the platform cannot promise the same bounded-spend arrangement. Check the tool’s reservation behavior before assigning it to a tightly capped agent.
What does Agentik charge?
There are three separate cost layers: the provider price for the tool operation, the fee for adding prepaid credit, and the model or assistant’s own charges.
| Cost layer | How it works | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Tool operation | Agentik says supported paid calls use the provider’s price with no markup on the tool call. | Read the individual tool contract and receipt; actual-cost tools can settle above an estimate. |
| Funding fee | The current pricing page lists a 5.5% platform fee with a minimum of $0.80 when applicable. | The first top-up of $10 or less is advertised as fee-free; the payment screen shows the applicable fee and tax. |
| Minimum purchase | The terms state a $5 minimum credit purchase. | Confirm the current minimum and total before confirming payment. |
| Model or assistant usage | Token, message, seat or subscription charges remain with the model provider. | Review that provider’s invoice separately. |
These are current published terms and can change. The 5.5% rate and $0.80 minimum should be rechecked at payment, especially if taxes, account eligibility or a promotion applies. Agentik’s home page and pricing page also advertise a $5 promotional credit for eligible new accounts; eligibility and daily availability apply, and the home page says the credit expires 14 days after it is granted.
Is Agentik cheaper than connecting to providers directly?
The available material does not establish a tested winner or a quantified saving against direct provider connections. Agentik can reduce the number of integrations and payment setups you maintain, but a funding fee and the limits of the catalog affect the total economics.
| Decision factor | Agentik gateway | Direct provider connection |
|---|---|---|
| Tool breadth | One MCP connection to the supported, enabled catalog; the company advertises 2,400+ tools from 52 providers. | Only the provider accounts and APIs you configure, with no gateway catalog dependency. |
| Setup and keys | Centralized execution keys, permissions and optional caps. | Separate provider credentials, scopes and billing arrangements are common. |
| Price visibility | Tool contracts, reservations and receipts are visible in the Agentik run flow. | Usage details depend on each provider’s dashboard and API. |
| Spend behavior | Bounded reservations can release unused amounts; actual-cost tools may exceed estimates. | Each provider’s own authorization and billing rules apply. |
| Extra charges | Published funding fee may apply, in addition to tool and model costs. | No Agentik funding fee, but provider pricing and any account fees remain. |
| Availability and policy | Workspace enablement, catalog uptime and provider authorization are not guaranteed. | You still must satisfy the provider’s terms, geography and usage limits directly. |
Choose the gateway when centralized discovery, receipts and key-level controls solve a real operational problem. Choose direct connections when you need a provider or guarantee that the catalog does not offer. Make the decision with your own workload, provider prices and compliance requirements rather than an assumed savings percentage.
What limitations should you check before relying on a tool?
Agentik’s Terms of Sale and Service, last updated 7 October 2026, state: “A listing is not a guarantee that a tool is enabled for your workspace, available at all times, suitable for a regulated use case, or authorised by the provider for every downstream use.” That qualification should shape procurement and production design.

How should you troubleshoot an uncertain or blocked run?
- Start with the run ID. Open the run record and note whether it is queued, running, completed, failed, interrupted or pending reconciliation.
- Read the receipt. Compare the reserved amount, measured consumption and released balance.
- Check the execution key. Confirm that the tool is allowed, the cap is still active and the key has not expired or been revoked.
- Check reservation support. A capped key can block a tool that has no guaranteed maximum.
- Check available credit. An actual-cost settlement can create a negative balance; fund the workspace before launching another run.
- Contact the provider or Agentik only after preserving the record. Include the run ID and receipt so a disputed charge can be reconciled without creating a duplicate execution.
Do not treat a timeout as proof that nothing happened. Confirm the provider-side state, when available, before retrying an operation that creates an external side effect.
Who benefits most from this setup?
Agentik is most useful for teams that want several agents to discover and call supported services through one MCP connection, while administrators retain separate keys and a shared prepaid budget. It is less suitable when a required provider is absent, when a workflow needs a guaranteed maximum but the chosen tool is actual-cost, or when compliance requires a direct contractual relationship with the provider.
A vendor-published testimonial from Loïc Frissard, founder of Digitiz, says: “We used to pay for a separate AI subscription for almost every client deliverable. Now the team asks Claude for the visuals, the keyword data and the competitor research, and it all comes out of one prepaid balance. Seeing the price before each run makes client budgets much easier to keep.” This is a company-published customer statement, not an independently verified cost or performance result.
Agentik questions readers ask next
Can separate agents use the same workspace without sharing all permissions?
Yes. Create distinct execution keys and assign each one only the tools and limits its agent needs. The workspace balance can remain shared while authority, revocation and audit trails stay separated by key.

Does a capped key guarantee that every run will stay below the cap?
Only tools that support the relevant bounded-reservation arrangement can provide that kind of control. An actual-cost tool may exceed its estimate and leave a negative paid balance, so verify the tool contract before treating a cap as a hard maximum.
Can I keep using a provider’s existing subscription after connecting through Agentik?
Yes, but the accounts remain independent. Agentik does not transfer that provider’s credit, cancel its subscription or combine its invoice with Agentik’s workspace spending.

What happens if a tool disappears from the catalog after I build a workflow?
A catalog listing does not promise permanent availability. Keep the tool’s contract, inputs and a fallback procedure documented, and re-check the catalog before scheduled or client-critical runs.
Is the new-account promotional credit guaranteed?
No. The advertised $5 credit is limited to eligible new accounts, may have daily availability conditions, and the home page says it expires 14 days after grant. Confirm eligibility and the expiration date in your account before counting it in a budget.
