The free social-media Double XP promotion for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 (MW4) is no longer claimable. Activision’s deadline was October 26, 2026, at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. It was a token giveaway tied to an X post—not an automatic, game-wide Double XP weekend—so players who did not complete the post before the cutoff should not expect a new token from that promotion.
What was the MW4 free Double XP promotion?
The launch promotion offered an MW4 Double XP token to players who posted on X (formerly Twitter). The reward was separate from the normal multiplayer event schedule and did not turn on Double XP for every player automatically.

Can I still claim the October 26 MW4 reward?
No. The social-post claim window closed at 10 a.m. PT on October 26, 2026. Because the cutoff has passed, a new post made after that time should not be treated as an eligible claim, and the launch reporting does not identify a late-claim process.

The offer’s duration and delivery timing were never confirmed publicly in the launch coverage. That means there is no reliable number of minutes or hours to attach to the social token, nor a guaranteed timetable for when it would appear in an Activision account.

Before the deadline, the required post had to contain all three elements below:
- Your Activision ID.
- The tag
@CallofDuty. - The exact phrase
MW4 2XP. It did not need to be formatted as a hashtag.

Privacy point to consider
Including an Activision ID made it visible in a public social post. Anyone using a similar promotion should understand that the identifier could be copied or indexed; do not include an email address, password, recovery code or other account-secret information.
Was the social reward Rank XP or Weapon XP?
MW4 separates Rank XP tokens from Weapon XP tokens. The launch reporting does not identify which of those two token types the social giveaway delivered, so players should check the reward description in their in-game inventory rather than assume it boosts both progress tracks.
MW4 does not let two tokens of the same type run at once. Token timers count down during an active match, not while a player is sitting in a menu or lobby. Activating a token immediately before matchmaking therefore preserves more of its usable time than activating it and then remaining idle.

A separate Monster Energy promotion used qualifying co-branded can tabs rather than an X post. Players created or used a Monster account, uploaded eligible MW4 can tabs, and redeemed the resulting codes through Activision. Its documented launch-weekend window ran from October 23 through October 25, 2026.

The Monster Energy FAQ also states that 2XP can only be earned during the promotional window. It says MW4 rewards, including bonus items and the 40 hours of 2XP, remain on the Activision account after the season ends. Those terms belong to that product-code promotion and should not be applied to the expired social token.

- Open MW4 and confirm whether the inventory lists a Rank XP or Weapon XP token.
- Start or join the match in which you want the timer to run.
- Activate the token once you are ready to play, because the timer advances during active matches rather than menus and lobbies.
- Do not attempt to stack two tokens of the same type; the system does not run them simultaneously.
For launch progression context, Infinity Ward’s October 25 patch notes increased Search and Destroy and Collateral kill XP from 100 to 300. That adjustment is a normal gameplay XP change, not evidence that the expired social promotion was still active.

What is the practical takeaway after the deadline?
The free X-based MW4 token was a one-time launch claim and is closed. Players who already received a token can use it under MW4’s separate Rank XP and Weapon XP rules; everyone else must rely on currently available in-game or officially announced promotions rather than reposting the old phrase.

Does deleting the X post cancel an MW4 token that was already issued?
The launch information does not explain whether deleting or editing an eligible post affects delivery or an already-granted reward. Treat the post as a public record until any reward status is visible in the Activision account.
Can one MW4 token boost both my level and my gun at the same time?
Not automatically. MW4 labels Rank XP and Weapon XP separately, so the inventory description determines which progression track receives the bonus.
