A reliable company-verification API for the Gulf cannot be treated as one regional database. It needs country-by-country registry coverage, a clear separation between company search and profile enrichment, and strict handling of beneficial-owner data. Public evidence shows a repeatable KYB workflow and official access routes in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi, but it does not document the implementation, coverage, accuracy, or customers of the first-person product suggested by the original title. The practical answer is therefore a build and evaluation guide: how the API should work, what Gulf sources can currently establish, and which claims require a provider’s documentation or contract.
What does a company-verification API actually do?
A company-verification API turns business-registry and compliance checks into software calls. A client submits a jurisdiction and an identifier such as a legal name or registration number, receives matching entities, and then requests a fuller company profile. The documented KYB Check V2 pattern exposes supported countries or states first, searches the selected official registry, and may return initial data before richer details are fetched asynchronously. Its earlier documentation says an enhanced profile can take up to 30 minutes, so “verification” may be a workflow rather than a single instant response. See the vendor documentation at The KYB Check V2.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
That distinction matters in the Gulf, where each country or emirate can have different registries, identifiers, disclosure rules, languages, and access permissions. A regional label such as “Gulf coverage” is not evidence that an API can query every Gulf jurisdiction or return the same fields in each one.
How should the verification workflow be designed?
Use an explicit, stateful workflow so callers know whether they have a match, a pending enrichment job, or a definitive failure.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Discover supported jurisdictions. Return a machine-readable list of countries, states or emirates, registry names, accepted identifiers, and the fields available in each location. Do not silently route a request to an unverified source.
- Normalize the input. Store the submitted legal name and registration number exactly as received, then create a normalized search form for punctuation, whitespace, Arabic and Latin scripts, and common legal-form suffixes. Preserve both versions for auditability.
- Search the selected registry. Require the caller to send a country or subnational jurisdiction with the name or registration number. Return candidate entities with a match explanation, source timestamp, and confidence category rather than presenting fuzzy matches as confirmed identity.
- Create a profile-enrichment job. If the source returns only initial data, respond with a job identifier and status such as
pending,complete, orfailed. The client should poll a status endpoint or receive a webhook; it should not repeatedly submit duplicate searches. - Return the detailed profile. Include the fields actually obtained, the source and retrieval time, and explicit nulls for unavailable data. A missing owner, address, licence status, or filing should not be represented as a negative finding.
- Record an evidence trail. Keep request identifiers, source references, transformation steps, and the policy version used for any screening decision. Retention and access rules must be set for each jurisdiction.
Which Gulf data routes are publicly established?
Only a country-by-country source inventory can establish coverage. The available official examples demonstrate different access models rather than a single Gulf-wide feed.
| Jurisdiction | Established route | What it establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saudi Arabia | Wathq service described in a SAMA Rulebook notice dated 9 March 2026 | The notice says the Ministry of Commerce launched access to disclosed ultimate-beneficial-owner data for companies registered in Saudi Arabia, with data described as updated and approved. Read the SAMA notice. | It does not prove that a particular commercial API is integrated with Wathq, that access is public without conditions, or that every company has the same disclosure. |
| Abu Dhabi | ADRA’s TAHAQAQ economic-licence enquiry platform | TAHAQAQ is described as an enquiry route for Abu Dhabi businesses. ADRA also explains business record-keeping and update obligations. See ADRA’s guidance. | ADRA says beneficial-ownership details are available only to competent authorities under applicable legislation. A public licence enquiry should not be represented as unrestricted UBO access. |
| Other Gulf jurisdictions | Not established by the available documentation | A provider may support additional countries or registries, but it must name them and document the access method. | “Gulf coverage” alone is not proof of a live, lawful connection to a specific official register. |
Can I check a Saudi company by its CR number?
Potentially, if the service you use accepts a Saudi commercial-registration number and has a documented, permitted source connection. The SAMA notice establishes an official Wathq route for disclosed UBO information, but it does not document the title’s API, its endpoint syntax, or its commercial terms. A production integration should verify the company’s legal name, CR number, status, and retrieval timestamp together, because a number without a jurisdiction and source context is not enough for an audit.
Recommended Free Tools
Ask the provider whether the CR lookup is a direct registry query, a cached record, or a data-reseller result. Also ask how it handles cancelled, merged, amended, or duplicate registrations. Those questions determine whether a successful lookup is suitable for onboarding, payment, lending, or only preliminary research.
Can an API return a company’s beneficial owners?
It depends on the jurisdiction, the requester’s authority, and the data-access agreement. Saudi Arabia’s regulator notice describes access to disclosed UBO data through Wathq, while Abu Dhabi’s authority says UBO details are restricted to competent authorities under applicable law. Therefore an API should report “not available to this requester” separately from “no beneficial owner found.”

Do not infer ownership from directors, shareholders shown in a licence record, or a risk score unless the source defines those fields. A responsible response should identify the ownership source, the date it was retrieved, the disclosure basis, and any percentage or control threshold that the source actually provides.
How should asynchronous profile enrichment work?
Asynchronous retrieval is useful when a registry can return a basic match quickly but must gather filings or enhanced fields separately. The KYB documentation describes initial data followed by richer details and notes that an enhanced profile may take up to 30 minutes; that is vendor-described behavior, not a universal response-time promise. The documented workflow is here.

accepted: the request passed validation and a source job was created.pending: enrichment is still running; include the next permitted poll time.complete: return the profile, source timestamp, and field-level availability.partial: some requested fields were unavailable or restricted; explain which ones.failed: identify a retryable outage, invalid identifier, authorization problem, or permanent “not found” result.
Use idempotency keys to prevent duplicate charges or duplicate source requests. Set a maximum polling window, then expire the job with a recoverable status rather than leaving clients in an endless pending loop.
Which fields should a Gulf verification API return?
Field design should follow each source’s legal and technical limits. A useful common envelope can contain:

- jurisdiction, registry name, and source-record identifier;
- registered legal name in the original script and normalized Latin or Arabic form;
- commercial-registration or licence number, issue date, expiry date, and current status when supplied;
- registered address and activity classifications, with a label explaining whether the value is registered, operating, or mailing address;
- directors, managers, shareholders, or UBOs only when the source lawfully discloses those roles;
- retrieval time, source freshness indicator, and a field-level “unavailable” reason;
- screening results as separate events, never blended into the registry identity record.
Keep original source text alongside normalized values. This helps reviewers resolve transliteration differences and prevents a normalization rule from changing the legal identity shown by the registry.
Which company-verification API covers the Gulf?
No single provider can be selected from the available evidence without checking its current country list, source rights, and contract terms. Compare providers on the following concrete axes rather than on a regional marketing label.
| Evaluation axis | Questions to ask |
|---|---|
| Named coverage | Which countries, emirates, registries, and record types are live today? Are they direct, licensed, or resold sources? |
| Identifiers | Are CR numbers, licence numbers, legal names, tax identifiers, or addresses accepted? How are Arabic and Latin variants matched? |
| Returned fields | Which company, status, filing, director, shareholder, and UBO fields are actually returned in each jurisdiction? |
| Freshness and timing | Is data live, cached, or batch-updated? Which calls are synchronous, and what is the documented maximum for enrichment? |
| Source transparency | Does each response identify the registry, retrieval time, and evidence record? |
| Screening scope | Are AML, PEP, and sanctions checks separate products with defined list sources and update schedules? |
| Controls and permitted use | What authentication, role permissions, retention limits, audit logs, and redisclosure restrictions apply? |
| Pricing model | Is billing per search, profile, screening event, unit, seat, or subscription? What happens when a job is retried or returns partial data? |
One vendor documentation set describes a broader category combining registration and legal-status information with KYB/AML, PEP and sanctions screening, user management, and unit-based billing. Those are the vendor’s stated features, not independent proof of coverage, performance, or legal suitability. Review the documentation and verify every claim for the jurisdictions you need.
How should the API handle security and compliance?
- Minimize personal data. Request only fields necessary for the stated decision, especially when ownership records contain identifiable individuals.
- Separate tenants and roles. Enforce organization-level isolation, least-privilege access, and explicit permissions for ownership and screening data.
- Encrypt and audit. Protect data in transit and at rest, rotate credentials, and log who viewed or exported a record.
- Attach purpose and retention rules. Keep the legal basis, permitted use, retention period, and deletion process with the integration configuration.
- Review local requirements. Registry reuse, personal-data processing, UBO access, screening, and cross-border transfers can have different rules. Confirm current legal text and obtain qualified local advice before treating an API response as a compliance determination.
ADRA’s guidance also describes business record-keeping and update obligations. Those obligations are regulatory requirements, not a guarantee that a third-party API record is current; the response should always expose its retrieval date and source.

What commonly goes wrong during implementation?
A regional label hides missing countries
Fix this with a published support matrix that names every country and registry. Fail closed when a caller requests an unsupported jurisdiction.
A fuzzy match is treated as proof
Return candidate matches and require a second identifier or human review when names collide. Record the matching rule used.

Marketing claims substitute for source evidence
A Saudi vendor page advertises CR verification, KYB bundles, certificates, monitoring, risk scores, and bulk enrichment, but it was not independently validated and a direct access attempt returned 403. Treat such descriptions as leads for due diligence, not proof of government integration, availability, or performance. The page can be reviewed here.
What is known—and not known—about the API in the original first-person claim?
No public product documentation, architecture notes, customer results, pricing, uptime, latency measurements, country list, or data-provider agreements were supplied for a specific first-person Gulf API. It would be misleading to invent those details or to imply that the documented Wathq, TAHAQAQ, or vendor services were used by that product. The defensible account is the engineering and verification framework above, with each implementation claim confirmed against the builder’s own documentation and agreements.
For a real launch, publish the supported-jurisdiction matrix, source and licensing disclosures, field dictionary, asynchronous-state contract, security controls, retention policy, and a change log. That documentation lets a customer distinguish a registry fact from a provider inference and a temporary unavailable result from a negative verification.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a company registry lookup the same as KYB compliance?
No. A registry lookup establishes selected corporate facts, while KYB is a broader risk process that can include identity checks, ownership analysis, sanctions or PEP screening, ongoing monitoring, and documented review. Whether those steps satisfy an obligation depends on the institution’s policy and applicable law.
How can I tell whether a Gulf API uses live data or a cache?
Ask for the source-system name, retrieval timestamp, update schedule, and cache invalidation policy. Request a sample response showing how amended or cancelled registrations are represented, rather than relying on a generic “real-time” label.
What should happen when an Arabic and English company name do not match?
Keep both source scripts, apply a documented transliteration and normalization process, and return the matching signals used. If the registration number or another authoritative identifier is absent, route ambiguous results to review instead of auto-approving them.
Can I use an API response as legal proof of ownership?
Usually not without checking the source’s legal status, access conditions, disclosure date, and the rules governing your use. Treat the response as evidence supplied by a particular registry or provider, and obtain jurisdiction-specific legal advice before relying on it for a formal filing or regulated decision.
