Use scripts and command-line tools for repeatable automation
A script is the most auditable option when the same operation runs weekly or across many folders. It can encode naming rules, date handling, filtering and logging, and it can be reviewed before execution. The trade-off is that you must design input validation, collision handling, permissions and rollback yourself.
For destructive operations, build a dry-run mode that prints proposed changes, write a log containing old and new paths, and copy or snapshot source data before the first production run.
