2. Steam Deck OLED: choose it for local PC games

Steam Deck OLED is the better answer when the handheld itself must run games. Valve lists SteamOS, a 7.4-inch 1280 × 800 HDR OLED display, a 50 Wh battery, a stated gameplay range of three to 12 hours depending on use, and microSD expansion in its Steam Deck OLED specifications.

4. Logitech G CLOUD: useful only when streaming is the point

Logitech markets G CLOUD as a seven-inch Full HD handheld for PS5, PC and Xbox Remote Play, along with other cloud services. That positioning makes it relevant to a household using several ecosystems, but marketing does not establish the exact behavior of Sony’s application with every integrated control.

The US Logitech page checked for this article showed the device unavailable. That is a time-sensitive stock observation, not a permanent discontinuation claim; verify the live listing before treating it as a purchase option. Because G CLOUD is aimed at streamed play, it is not a substitute for a local PC handheld when offline gaming is a requirement.

5. A phone with Backbone One PlayStation Edition: start with hardware you own

Sony supports PS5 Remote Play on compatible Android and iOS devices. A Backbone One PlayStation Edition adds physical controls, but the connector must match the phone: choose the USB-C or Lightning version as appropriate. Eligibility is title-specific. Owning a digital PS5 game does not by itself prove that the game can be streamed, and the catalog changes by country and time. Check the desired game’s current listing before buying Premium solely for that title. The United States is among the supported regions, but cloud streaming is limited to adult accounts in supported countries.

The catalogs are not interchangeable

Portal cloud streaming does not provide PS3 or PS4 cloud titles. Remote Play can transmit a compatible PS4 game installed on your PS5, which is a different path. Do the display and battery specifications settle the choice?

No. They explain the hardware, but they do not establish cross-device comfort, latency, image quality or endurance. Manufacturer figures should be read as design information rather than as a common benchmark.
