For most small meeting rooms, the Jabra Speak2 75 is the strongest all-round choice: its four beamforming, noise-cancelling microphones are rated for 2.5 m pickup and rooms up to 4.5 m × 4.5 m. Choose the HP Poly Sync 20 when portability and up to 20 hours of talk time matter most. The 220 g Yealink CP700 suits personal desks and huddle rooms, while the AnkerWork PowerConf S500 offers the longest published pickup distance at 5 m and a 6,000 mAh battery.
These recommendations use manufacturer specifications and published compatibility records, not standardized independent head-to-head tests. Treat room dimensions as guidance rather than a guarantee: furniture, wall surfaces, speaker placement and background noise all change usable coverage.

Which Bluetooth conference phone is best for a business meeting?
The best model depends on room size, how often the unit travels and whether long battery life or certified platform support is your priority. The table gives a practical starting point using each manufacturer’s published figures.
| Model | Published microphone pickup | Published room guidance | Connectivity and range | Platform information |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jabra Speak2 75 | 2.5 m | Up to 4.5 m × 4.5 m | Bluetooth and USB; four digital MEMS microphones | Microsoft Teams certified; listed for Teams, Meet and other major collaboration platforms |
| HP Poly Sync 20 | Up to 2 m | Up to 4 m × 4 m | Bluetooth 5.x and USB; three-microphone steerable array | Microsoft Teams certified; listed on major collaboration-platform compatibility records |
| Yealink CP700 | 1.5 m | Personal or huddle-room use; no square-room figure published | Bluetooth and USB 2.0; Bluetooth range up to 30 m | Microsoft Teams integration and certification listing |
| AnkerWork PowerConf S500 | 5 m voice pickup | Square-room guidance not published | Bluetooth 5.4; range up to 20 m | Certification status was not established in the cited compatibility listings |
“Pickup” is the distance at which the manufacturer says microphones can capture voices under its stated conditions. It is not the same as a guaranteed intelligibility boundary in every room.

How should you match a speakerphone to room size?
Start with the distance from the device to the farthest participant, then check whether people can sit in a reasonably open arc around it. A device rated for a larger square room can still perform poorly if it is behind a laptop, placed beside a loud projector or surrounded by reflective glass.
Small desk or one-to-three-person huddle
The Yealink CP700 is designed for lightweight personal use. Its 1.5 m pickup specification is appropriate when participants sit close to the unit. At 220 g, it is easier to move between desks than larger room devices.
Four-by-four-metre rooms
The HP Poly Sync 20 is rated for rooms up to 4 m × 4 m and pickup up to 2 m. That makes it a sensible fit for a compact conference room where participants sit around a small table rather than at the far edges of a large boardroom.
Rooms up to 4.5 by 4.5 metres
The Jabra Speak2 75 carries the broadest square-room guidance in this group: up to 4.5 m × 4.5 m, with 2.5 m microphone pickup. Its four-microphone beamforming array is intended to keep voices intelligible as people speak from different positions.
When you need the longest stated pickup
The AnkerWork PowerConf S500 lists 5 m voice pickup, the longest distance in this comparison. The manufacturer does not publish a corresponding square-room dimension, so use the 5 m figure as a distance reference rather than converting it into a claimed room size.
Is the Jabra Speak2 75 the best all-round option?
For a typical small business meeting room, it is the most balanced specification-based pick. Jabra lists four digital MEMS microphones with beamforming and noise cancellation, a 65 mm speaker, 2.5 m pickup and room guidance up to 4.5 m × 4.5 m.
What it does well
- Room reach: The published 4.5 m × 4.5 m guidance is the largest square-room figure among the models with a stated room dimension.
- Microphone design: Four beamforming noise-cancelling microphones can steer attention toward active speakers and reduce some off-axis noise.
- Durability: An IP64 rating indicates protection against dust ingress and water splashes; it is not a rating for submersion.
- Platform fit: The model appears in Microsoft’s certified-device directory and is listed for Teams, Meet and other collaboration software.
Where to be cautious
Jabra’s published room guidance is a manufacturer target, not an independent laboratory result. The cited specifications do not provide a maximum talk-time figure, so buyers who need a quantified battery guarantee should compare the Poly, Yealink and AnkerWork figures instead.

When is the HP Poly Sync 20 a better choice?
Choose the HP Poly Sync 20 when the speakerphone will travel between rooms or operate away from a charger for long stretches. HP Poly specifies up to 20 hours of talk time, the longest stated figure in this group.
Key specifications
- Three-microphone steerable array.
- Up to 2 m microphone pickup.
- Room guidance up to 4 m × 4 m.
- Bluetooth 5.x and USB connectivity.
- IP64 protection.
- Up to 20 hours of talk time according to the 2026 specification page.
The steerable array is useful when people sit around a table and take turns speaking, while USB provides a wired fallback for a computer that has unreliable Bluetooth. Talk time is a maximum published value; volume, call type, battery age and wireless conditions can reduce actual runtime.
Who should buy the Yealink CP700?
The Yealink CP700 is aimed at personal workspaces and small huddle rooms where low weight and simple transport matter more than long-distance pickup. It weighs 220 g, supports Bluetooth and USB 2.0, and has a stated Bluetooth range of up to 30 m.

- Close-range pickup: The published 1.5 m pickup distance suits a small group seated near the unit.
- Battery: Yealink lists up to 9 hours of talk time.
- Voice processing: Noise suppression, digital signal processing and acoustic echo cancellation are specified to reduce background sound and feedback.
- Multi-device pairing: Yealink says the CP700 can pair with three devices simultaneously.
- Teams use: It has Microsoft Teams integration and appears in Microsoft’s certified-device directory.
A 30 m Bluetooth range describes the connection between the CP700 and a paired host, not the distance at which the microphones can hear participants. Keep those two measurements separate when planning a room.
Is the AnkerWork PowerConf S500 best for long-distance pickup?
It is the most compelling option when the published 5 m voice-pickup figure and larger battery are your primary requirements. The S500 uses four microphones, Bluetooth 5.4, a stated wireless range of up to 20 m, a 13-hour call-time figure and a 6,000 mAh battery.
What the numbers mean in practice
The 5 m voice-pickup claim is longer than the pickup distances published for the other three models. However, no square-room guidance is given, so do not assume it covers a 10 m-wide room simply because the pickup radius is 5 m. Seating layout, acoustic treatment and speech volume still determine whether remote listeners can understand everyone.
The 6,000 mAh battery gives the S500 a substantial capacity for a portable unit, while the 13-hour call-time claim places it between the Poly Sync 20 and Yealink CP700 on published runtime. The user-guide publication date for the 5 m figure is not stated, so verify the current specification for the exact regional model before purchase.

How do Bluetooth, USB and multi-device features compare?
Bluetooth is convenient for phones and laptops, but USB is valuable when you need predictable audio, charging and a direct computer connection. Use the host device’s operating-system audio panel or meeting application to select the conference phone for both microphone input and speaker output.
| Model | Wireless details | Wired option | Useful mobility detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jabra Speak2 75 | Bluetooth; version and range are not stated in the cited specification | USB | IP64-rated enclosure |
| HP Poly Sync 20 | Bluetooth 5.x | USB | IP64-rated enclosure; up to 20 hours talk time |
| Yealink CP700 | Bluetooth; up to 30 m range | USB 2.0 | 220 g; simultaneous pairing with three devices |
| AnkerWork PowerConf S500 | Bluetooth 5.4; up to 20 m range | USB connection details should be checked for the exact package | 6,000 mAh battery; up to 13 hours call time |
Bluetooth range is measured in open conditions and can fall sharply through walls, metal furniture and busy wireless environments. For a fixed room, USB generally removes pairing uncertainty; for a shared table, Bluetooth avoids cable clutter.
Which models are certified for Microsoft Teams?
Microsoft’s certified-device directory includes the Jabra Speak2 75, HP Poly Sync 20 and Yealink CP700. Certification can apply to a particular hardware revision or SKU, so check the full model number rather than relying on a product family name.
The certification indicates that the listed device has been evaluated for the platform’s requirements, but it does not guarantee that every firmware version, computer adapter or operating-system build will behave identically. Keep the speakerphone firmware and meeting application current, and test the exact room setup before an important client call.

How should you set up a Bluetooth conference phone?
A careful setup prevents most “the other side cannot hear us” complaints. The menu labels differ between Windows, macOS, phones and meeting applications, but the sequence is consistent.
- Charge or connect the unit. Fully charge a portable model before its first mobile meeting. For a permanent room, keep USB power available even if calls normally use Bluetooth.
- Place it centrally. Put the speakerphone on the table with its microphone openings unobstructed. Avoid placing it beside a laptop exhaust, projector fan, docking station or hard wall.
- Pair the host. Open the computer or phone’s Bluetooth settings, select the conference phone’s model name and confirm pairing. If several devices are nearby, disconnect unused hosts to prevent automatic reconnection to the wrong one.
- Select both audio paths. In the meeting application’s audio settings, choose the conference phone as the microphone and speaker. Selecting it only for output can leave the computer’s built-in microphone active.
- Run a test call. Use the application’s microphone test or a short internal call. Speak from the farthest seat, then listen for echo, clipping and changes in volume.
- Lock the arrangement. Mark the preferred table position and keep a USB cable or approved adapter in the room so a low-battery or pairing failure has an immediate fallback.
What audio-processing features matter in a conference room?
Full-duplex audio allows people on both ends to speak and hear at the same time. Acoustic echo cancellation prevents the far end from hearing its own voice through the room speaker. Noise suppression reduces steady sounds such as ventilation, while beamforming or a steerable microphone array focuses on the active talker.
The Yealink CP700 explicitly lists noise suppression, DSP and acoustic echo cancellation. Jabra identifies four beamforming noise-cancelling microphones. HP Poly specifies a three-microphone steerable array. The AnkerWork specification identifies four microphones but does not provide the same detailed processing description in the cited material.

What can go wrong, and how do you fix it?
The computer connects, but the meeting uses its built-in microphone
Open the meeting application’s audio settings and select the conference phone for input as well as output. If the device is listed twice, choose the hands-free or headset profile rather than a generic media-only profile.
Participants at the far end hear intermittent speech
Move the unit to the center of the table, remove objects covering its microphone openings and reduce competing noise. If the farthest seat is beyond the published pickup distance, move participants closer or add a second approved audio device only if the platform supports it without creating echo.

There is echo or feedback
Make sure only one device in the room is connected to the call. Lower speaker volume, disable the laptop’s internal microphone and confirm that acoustic echo cancellation is active where the model provides that setting.
Bluetooth keeps reconnecting to the wrong laptop
Turn Bluetooth off on nearby computers that are not hosting the meeting, remove stale pairings and pair the intended host again. The CP700’s three-device pairing capability is convenient, but it also makes it important to identify which host currently owns the audio connection.
The battery runs out during a call
Use USB power as soon as the charge warning appears. Published talk-time figures are maximums, so schedule charging based on your actual call pattern rather than treating the headline runtime as a guarantee.
What should you verify before buying?
- Measure the farthest seat from the planned device position.
- Confirm whether your exact SKU appears in the current Microsoft Teams certified-device directory.
- Decide whether USB backup is required for managed office computers.
- Check the regional package for included cables, adapters and power requirements.
- Test the device in the real room, with its normal HVAC and display equipment running.
- For Bluetooth-heavy offices, check whether walls and nearby wireless equipment reduce the usable range.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use these conference phones with a smartphone instead of a laptop?
Yes, Bluetooth pairing lets a compatible phone act as the host. After pairing, select the conference phone in the phone’s call-audio controls; some corporate handsets may restrict Bluetooth profiles through mobile-device policy.
Will a USB connection improve call quality over Bluetooth?
USB can remove wireless interference and pairing errors, and it usually keeps the unit charging while connected. It does not automatically improve microphone pickup, so placement and room acoustics remain important.
Should I buy a second speakerphone for a large table?
Do not assume two independent speakerphones will combine cleanly; many meeting applications create echo when multiple microphones and speakers are active. First test one unit at the table’s center, then use a platform-supported room-audio system if one device cannot reach every seat.
How do I confirm that a product listing is the certified version?
Match the complete model number, regional suffix and hardware revision against the platform maker’s current certified-device directory. Certification records can change, and a similarly named variant may not have the same status.
