B.L.U.E. NOVA is a planned free-to-play, third-person cooperative PvE shooter for Steam, scheduled for 2027. Its main Tower Raid loop drops you into a live battlefield, has you meet other players, clear objectives and Barrier Towers, defeat mechanical forces and colossal enemies, then push toward the central Master Tower. The “halo” in the question is the game’s Ring, styled R.I.N.G.: nearby allies link up, gain cooperative buffs and can fire with effectively unlimited ammunition. The Ring is a local teamwork mechanic inside a battlefield that can hold up to 30 players, not a single 30-person super-team. The current Steam page still lists the game as unavailable, so details drawn from development builds should be treated as previews rather than final launch rules.
What is B.L.U.E. NOVA’s PvE gameplay loop?
The core loop is a drop-in raid: select a Hero, enter an ongoing session, find allies, fight through objectives and enemy waves, form Rings to improve combat efficiency, and advance to the Master Tower. The official B.L.U.E. NOVA site describes Tower Raid as a large battlefield for up to 30 players, while the current Steam listing emphasizes matchmaking that can place you in sessions already in progress.

You begin by selecting a Hero. GungHo’s description also identifies equippable Armor and skill trees, indicating that your character choice is part of a longer build rather than a one-off class selection. You do not have to wait for a complete premade party: the game is designed for players to enter a live battle and meet other participants on the map.
2. Explore the battlefield and clear objectives
Tower Raid sends players through map sections containing waves of mechanical enemies, larger foes and Barrier Towers. The practical objective is to keep moving through these encounters instead of camping at the starting point. Reports from a development build described marked routes and sections that could be arranged differently between runs; that shifting layout was observed in preview material and should not be assumed to be a guaranteed launch specification.

3. Link with nearby players
When you encounter allies, you can form a Ring. The Ring is the mechanic that turns proximity into a combat advantage: linked players receive buffs and can use the game’s high-output firing state without normal ammunition interruptions. Steam calls that state Infinite Barrage; the English official site uses Unlimited Attack. Those are published labels for the Ring-enabled power-up, not evidence of two unrelated systems.
4. Push toward the Master Tower
After clearing field objectives and Barrier Towers, the group converges on the central Master Tower. A preview account also described a final boss encounter before the tower was destroyed. That boss is part of a Tower Raid run and should not be confused with the separate Boss Raid mode, which is a distinct six-player activity.
5. Improve the build between encounters
GungHo confirms Armor and skill-tree progression. In a development-build account, players selected weapons or enhancements after tower bosses and brought materials back for Armor upgrades and skill-tree unlocks. That reward sequence is a preview observation, not a confirmed final drop table, so the launch economy and exact upgrade costs remain open.
How does the Ring or “halo” mechanic work?
The Ring activates when players encounter one another and cooperate in the same area. It rewards staying with allies by providing combat buffs, removing ordinary reload pressure through unlimited ammunition and eventually enabling a powerful Ultimate. The mechanic is designed to make a scattered battlefield feel more coordinated without requiring every participant to belong to one permanent squad.
Ring size is smaller than the Tower Raid population
A development-build report said two players were enough to produce the infinite-ammunition and no-reload effects, while an ordinary Ring’s buffs covered up to six players. Those figures come from a preview and developer explanation, not a published final ruleset. They also do not change the separate headline capacity: Tower Raid can contain up to 30 players, but those players can be divided among several local Rings.
What Infinite Barrage and Unlimited Attack mean
Steam’s “Infinite Barrage” and the official site’s “Unlimited Attack” describe the same general benefit: Ring-linked players can sustain fire without worrying about normal ammunition limits. Neither source establishes a damage multiplier, exact duration or reload animation behavior for the final release. The safe interpretation is that the Ring improves sustained cooperative fire, not that it grants a permanently stronger weapon to everyone on the map.

The Ring Ultimate
Steam says cooperative combat grows the R.I.N.G. and enables a powerful Ultimate. AUTOMATON’s preview described an Ultimate involving a piloted mech and reported that developers assigned it to the Ring participant contributing the most. That allocation rule belongs to the tested build; GungHo has not published a final scoring formula, eligibility threshold or percentage bonus.
What the sources do not establish
No authoritative source gives a fixed Ring radius, exact buff percentages, a strict distance threshold or a universal rule for how long a link persists after players separate. Treat the Ring as a proximity-based teamwork system, but avoid assuming a precise formation, aura size or numerical damage increase until the developer publishes those details.
Do I need a premade team to play Tower Raid?
No. The game is explicitly built around drop-in matchmaking. GungHo’s Steam description says: “Drop-in matchmaking lets you join sessions already in progress, so you spend less time waiting and more time playing.” The official concept is that a player can start alone, encounter allies during the battle and then benefit from a Ring once players group up.
This structure changes how you should read the 30-player figure. It is a battlefield population limit, not a promise that every run begins with 30 coordinated friends. A solo entrant may arrive in a partially completed session, meet a handful of players near an objective and later move with a different group as the raid develops.
Voice communication may help a coordinated group, but the published descriptions make proximity and matchmaking the required ingredients. They do not state that voice chat is mandatory, that a clan is required or that you must form a party before deployment.
Is the Ring the same thing as the 30-player Tower Raid?
No. Tower Raid describes the entire activity and its possible battlefield population; a Ring describes a smaller group of nearby allies receiving linked benefits. Several Rings can operate in different areas while other players are still clearing objectives elsewhere.

This distinction matters tactically. Joining the largest visible crowd is not automatically optimal if another route still has an uncleared Barrier Tower. The mechanic rewards regrouping for difficult fights, while the overall raid still requires players to cover objectives across the map and eventually converge on the Master Tower.
What is the difference between Tower Raid, Boss Raid and Challenge?
They are announced as separate modes with different group sizes, objectives and availability. Only Tower Raid has been described as the large battlefield run toward the Master Tower.

| Mode | Announced group size | Primary objective | Difficulty or availability |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tower Raid | Up to 30 players | Clear field objectives and Barrier Towers, then destroy the central Master Tower | Main large-group PvE raid |
| Boss Raid | Six players | Defeat a formidable foe as a small task force | High difficulty; separate mode |
| Challenge | Not stated | Other objectives, rewards and speedrun-style goals | Some content is offered only on specified days or at specified times |
The official site describes Boss Raid as “A high-difficulty raid battle where you defeat a formidable foe as a small task force.” That wording does not make it the final stage of Tower Raid. AUTOMATON reported playing Tower Raid in a preview but specifically said it had not played Boss Raid, so no hands-on difficulty judgment about Boss Raid is established.
For Challenge content, the official description confirms time-limited or scheduled availability in some cases, but it does not publish one universal calendar or a guaranteed reward amount. Expect the schedule and reward details to require checking the live service information after launch.
How do Heroes, Armor and skill trees fit into the loop?
Hero selection determines who you take into a run, while Armor and skill trees provide the longer-term development layer. The preview reward flow connected successful tower encounters with weapons or enhancements and materials that could be used after the run. This gives Tower Raid two timescales: immediate decisions during a battlefield push and persistent build decisions between raids.
- During a run: choose routes, decide when to regroup, use Ring-linked firepower and respond to bosses or Barrier Towers.
- After encounters: select previewed weapons or enhancements where offered and evaluate which upgrades support your chosen Hero.
- Between runs: spend materials on Armor upgrades and unlock skill-tree options, subject to the final progression design.
The developer has not published a complete Hero roster, final skill list or definitive material economy in the supplied information. Do not infer exact build formulas from the preview’s reward choices.

How long is a Tower Raid run, and will the loop become repetitive?
AUTOMATON reported five approximately 15-minute Tower Raid runs in a development build. That is a report of those preview sessions, not a guaranteed session timer for the released game. Matchmaking into an already active battle could also make an individual player’s time in a session shorter or longer than a full run.
The same preview account found Tower Raid easy to enter but sometimes repetitive. That impression applies to early-build content and should be read alongside the mode’s intended variation: changing routes were reported, but the final map rotation, enemy roster and objective distribution have not been fully specified. The loop’s replay value will therefore depend on how much launch content and build variety GungHo ships, not merely on the Ring effect.
When will B.L.U.E. NOVA release, and what PC does it require?
B.L.U.E. NOVA is planned as a free-to-play Steam release in 2027. The current Steam page says it is not yet available. The following requirements are from GungHo’s Steam listing checked in October 2026; an SSD is required in both tiers.
| Steam tier | Memory | Free storage | Drive requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | 16 GB RAM | 50 GB | SSD required |
| Recommended | 32 GB RAM | 100 GB | SSD required |
The supplied listing information does not establish a final launch date, regional availability, console edition or a complete CPU/GPU comparison. If your Windows PC lacks an SSD or enough free space, that is the clearest hardware-readiness issue identified by the current listing; do not assume an upgrade guarantees a particular frame rate.

What should you do during a Tower Raid?
The announced systems suggest a simple priority order for a first run:
- Deploy and read the battlefield. Note where allies are already fighting and which objectives remain open.
- Join an active route. Move toward players near a Barrier Tower rather than wandering alone when a fight is underway.
- Form or enter a Ring. Stay close enough for the published Ring benefits, while remembering that exact range values have not been announced.
- Use sustained fire on priority targets. Infinite Barrage or Unlimited Attack is most valuable when the group is handling waves, colossal enemies or an objective that would otherwise force repeated reloads.
- Split only when the map demands it. A 30-player battlefield can support several local groups, so cover an unguarded objective when the main crowd is already secure.
- Regroup for the final push. The Master Tower is the raid’s central destination, and the preview reported a boss encounter before its destruction.
- Review your build after the run. Apply confirmed launch options when available, but treat previewed weapon, enhancement and material choices as subject to change.
What is still unknown before launch?
The broad loop and Ring concept are clear, but several details remain unconfirmed: the final Hero and weapon roster, exact Ring radius, buff values, Ultimate assignment rules, map-variation system, reward tables, Challenge schedules, monetization details beyond free-to-play, and whether additional platforms will be supported. These gaps are normal for a game still planned for 2027.

The most reliable way to interpret current coverage is to separate announced structure from preview behavior. “Up to 30 players,” six-player Boss Raid capacity and the Steam hardware requirements are published specifications. The approximately 15-minute runs, two-player Ring activation observation, six-player ordinary Ring coverage and mech Ultimate assignment came from development-build reporting and may change.
How we interpret the gameplay loop
This explanation prioritizes GungHo’s official mode descriptions and current Steam listing for release status, capacities and requirements. Preview reporting is used only where it adds practical detail, and those observations are labeled as development-build behavior rather than promises. No published source establishes a Ring damage percentage, player-count average or performance benchmark, so none is presented as fact.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does B.L.U.E. NOVA have a console version announced?
The currently identified product listing is for Steam on PC, and the supplied official material does not announce a console edition. That is not confirmation that consoles are impossible; it means no platform commitment beyond Steam has been established in the available announcement.
Does the Ring require voice chat?
The published mechanic is based on encountering nearby allies and entering a Ring, not on a stated voice-chat requirement. Players may coordinate verbally if they choose, but no official description says that voice communication is necessary to activate Ring benefits.
Will Tower Raid progress carry into Boss Raid?
No cross-mode progression rule has been published. GungHo has described the modes separately, so players should wait for the final progression documentation rather than assume that Tower Raid materials, scores or unlocks automatically apply to Boss Raid.
Is there an official physical edition or merchandise?
No physical game edition or currently purchasable official collectible is established in the cited material. The confirmed product information concerns the forthcoming free-to-play Steam release.
