The Audio Pro C20 W is a versatile mains-powered wireless speaker that can cover music, television and vinyl without separate streamers, phono preamps or a soundbar. It combines HDMI ARC, a built-in moving-magnet phono stage, optical and RCA inputs, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, AirPlay 2, Google Cast and multiroom support in a 6.2kg cabinet. Its broad, clear presentation, controlled bass and straightforward operation earned a five-star What Hi‑Fi? review and a What Hi‑Fi? Awards 2025 win.
The trade-off is physical: 196 x 410 x 220mm is substantial for a single speaker, and placement matters if you use it near a wall or as a makeshift soundbar. At the £450/$600 test price, or €600 for the current white EU model, the C20 W makes most sense for listeners who want one well-connected system and have room for it.

Is the Audio Pro C20 W worth buying?
Yes, if you want one cabinet for streaming, TV audio and a turntable, and you do not need battery operation or a slim soundbar shape. The C20 W is unusually flexible because its HDMI ARC, phono, optical, RCA, Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth connections cover sources that usually require several boxes.
What Hi‑Fi? reviewed it on 7 October 2025 at £450/$600, awarding five stars for sound, build and features and naming it a What Hi‑Fi? Awards 2025 winner. The review praised its broad, clear and detailed sound, tight bass, easy operation and build quality. It also identified the two practical drawbacks that matter most: the cabinet is bulky as a makeshift soundbar, and it needs care with placement.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
This is a wireless speaker, not a portable one. It has no battery, and its design assumes a permanent position near mains power, a television, a turntable or a network connection over Wi‑Fi.
What hardware and specifications do you get?
The C20 W uses a three-driver layout and a dedicated amplifier arrangement designed to fill a room from one enclosure. Audio Pro rates the system at 2x30W plus 130W, with a 6.5-inch coated-paper woofer and two 1-inch soft-dome tweeters.
| Specification | Audio Pro C20 W |
|---|---|
| Amplification | 2x30W + 130W |
| Drivers | One 6.5-inch coated-paper woofer; two 1-inch soft-dome tweeters |
| Official frequency range | 42–22,000Hz (±6dB) |
| In-room bass response | 31Hz (-6dB) |
| Network streaming quality | Up to 24/96 |
| Dimensions | 196 x 410 x 220mm |
| Weight | 6.2kg |
| Standby power | 1.6W |
The quoted 31Hz figure is an in-room response at -6dB, while the 42–22,000Hz figure is the official range under the stated ±6dB tolerance. Those measurements should not be read as a guarantee of identical bass in every room: boundary proximity, furniture and listening position all affect what you hear.
How does the C20 W sound with music?
What Hi‑Fi? describes an expansive, open soundstage with broad, clear and detailed reproduction. Its verdict says the speaker keeps its composure with dense recordings, so layered arrangements should remain intelligible rather than collapsing into a congested midrange.
Clarity and soundstage
The stereo tweeter arrangement gives the cabinet a presentation that reaches beyond its physical width. Vocals, guitars and other central elements are rendered with definition, while the review’s “broad, clear, detailed sound” description points to a speaker that favors separation and openness over a deliberately colored presentation.

Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Bass control
The review specifically praises tight, well-defined bass. That is different from simply producing the most low-end energy: kick drums and bass lines should have recognizable shape and timing. The 6.5-inch woofer and 130W section provide substantial output for a single cabinet, while the published 31Hz in-room figure indicates useful extension when room placement supports it.

The C20 W’s ability to retain composure with dense recordings is important if you listen to orchestral works, layered electronic tracks or busy rock mixes. It is not evidence that every room or recording will sound identical, but it supports using the speaker as a primary music system rather than only as background audio.
Is it a good TV speaker, and how does HDMI ARC work?
Yes. HDMI ARC is the simplest way to integrate the C20 W with a compatible television because audio travels from the TV to the speaker over one HDMI connection and the TV remote can control volume.
- Connect an HDMI cable from the television’s HDMI ARC or eARC-labelled socket to the C20 W’s HDMI ARC/TV input.
- In the television’s sound settings, select HDMI ARC, external audio system or the equivalent output option.
- Enable HDMI-CEC if the television requires it for remote volume and power commands.
- Select the C20 W’s TV input, then play a broadcast, streaming-app soundtrack or console source through the television.
ARC makes the C20 W a practical TV upgrade without adding a conventional soundbar. The cabinet is wider and deeper than a slim bar, however, so check that it can sit below the screen without blocking an infrared receiver, picture area or stand. What Hi‑Fi? calls it bulky as a makeshift soundbar; that is a physical-placement warning rather than a criticism of its sound quality.
Can you connect a turntable directly?
Yes. The C20 W includes a built-in RIAA moving-magnet (MM) phono amplifier, so a compatible MM turntable can connect directly to its phono input without a separate phono preamp.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Set the turntable’s output to phono if it has a phono/line switch. If the turntable is already set to line, use the C20 W’s line input instead of applying phono amplification twice.
- Connect the turntable’s left and right RCA plugs to the C20 W’s RCA phono input and attach the turntable’s ground wire if one is provided.
- Select the phono source on the speaker and start playback at a moderate volume.
The phono input is one of the C20 W’s strongest differentiators for an all-in-one system: the same cabinet can handle records, network music and television without an external selector or preamp. A turntable with a moving-coil cartridge will need a suitable external phono stage because the built-in circuit is specified for moving-magnet use.
What wireless and wired connections are supported?
The C20 W supports both conventional inputs and major wireless platforms, allowing you to choose the source and control method that fit your setup.
| Connection or service | What it enables |
|---|---|
| Wi‑Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz) | Network streaming, app control and multiroom operation |
| Bluetooth 5.0 | Direct playback from a nearby phone, tablet or computer |
| AirPlay 2 | Playback from compatible Apple devices and AirPlay systems |
| Google Cast | Cast-compatible playback from supported apps and devices |
| Spotify Connect | Direct Spotify control through the service’s device picker |
| TIDAL Connect | Direct playback control from compatible TIDAL apps |
| Qobuz, Amazon Music and other services | Access through supported network software and integrations |
| RCA line input | Analogue source connection |
| RCA phono input | Direct connection for a moving-magnet turntable |
| Optical input | Digital connection for a TV, CD player or other optical source |
| HDMI ARC/TV | Television audio with TV-remote volume control |
| Subwoofer output | Connection to a compatible powered subwoofer |
Audio Pro also supports its own multiroom system. The result is a speaker that can be used alone in a study or living room, then grouped with other compatible Audio Pro speakers when you want the same network stream in several rooms.
There is no Ethernet socket listed, so network operation depends on Wi‑Fi. Bluetooth is useful when you do not want to configure a network, but Wi‑Fi unlocks the higher-resolution network stream specification of up to 24/96 and the broader multiroom and casting functions.
How much space does the C20 W need?
Plan for a stable surface at least 410mm wide and 220mm deep, plus clearance for cables and airflow. At 6.2kg, it is not a speaker you will want to move between rooms routinely.

Placement near walls
Start with the cabinet on a rigid shelf or stand, with its front unobstructed. Moving it closer to a wall or corner usually increases perceived bass; that can be useful in a large room but may make low frequencies sound fuller than intended. Pulling it forward and leaving some side clearance can improve the sense of width that the review praises.
Placement below a television
Measure the TV stand before buying. The C20 W’s height of 196mm can obscure the lower edge of some screens, and its depth may extend beyond a shallow cabinet. If the television uses an infrared remote sensor, make sure the speaker does not block it.
Using a subwoofer
A dedicated subwoofer output is provided for listeners who want more low-frequency scale. Because the C20 W already receives a favorable assessment for tight bass and reaches a published 31Hz in-room response, adding a subwoofer is an expansion option rather than a prerequisite for normal music or TV use.
What does the C20 W cost, and why do prices differ?
Pricing depends on region, finish and current retailer promotions. What Hi‑Fi? tested the speaker at £450 in the UK and $600 in the US on 7 October 2025. Audio Pro’s current European product page lists the white model at €600. Audio Pro’s 23 January 2024 launch announcement listed £450, €550 and $550, with retailer availability from mid-February 2024.
| Reference | Price and context |
|---|---|
| UK launch announcement, January 2024 | £450 |
| European launch announcement, January 2024 | €550 |
| US launch announcement, January 2024 | $550 |
| What Hi‑Fi? review, 7 October 2025 | £450 / $600 test price |
| Current EU product page | €600 for the white model |
Use the price for your country and the exact finish as the meaningful comparison. A temporary discount can change the value calculation, while a higher regional price may reflect distribution and tax differences rather than a different specification.

How should you set up the C20 W for the best result?
A careful first setup avoids most problems with ARC, Wi‑Fi and phono playback.
- Place the speaker on a solid, level surface with the front grille clear and enough room for the HDMI, power and source cables.
- Connect mains power, then install or open Audio Pro’s control software if you want Wi‑Fi, services or multiroom features.
- Join the speaker to your 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi‑Fi network. Keep the speaker within reliable router range during initial setup.
- For TV use, connect HDMI ARC and select the corresponding output in the television menu.
- For a turntable, use the RCA phono input for an MM cartridge, connect the ground lead and choose the phono source.
- Test one network stream, one physical input and TV volume control before finalizing cable management.
- If bass sounds excessive or the stereo image feels narrow, move the cabinet farther from a corner and recheck from your normal listening position.
What are the main limitations?
- No battery: it must remain connected to mains power, so it is not suitable for outdoor or room-to-room portable use.
- Large cabinet: the 196 x 410 x 220mm footprint is substantial on a desk, shelf or TV unit.
- Placement sensitivity: wall and corner proximity can alter bass balance and the spaciousness of the presentation.
- No Ethernet listed: network streaming and multiroom rely on Wi‑Fi.
- No built-in voice-assistant control is listed: choose a category designed around hands-free voice control if that is essential.
These limitations are straightforward to evaluate before purchase. They matter more than small feature differences if your room has limited shelf depth, weak Wi‑Fi or a requirement for battery power.
Who should buy the Audio Pro C20 W?
Choose it if your priority is a single, high-connectivity system for music, TV and records. It is particularly compelling when you want direct physical inputs, a built-in MM phono stage, HDMI ARC and the option to expand into Audio Pro multiroom later.
Look elsewhere in the broader speaker market if you need a battery, Ethernet, a very compact soundbar profile or integrated voice-assistant control. Also measure your furniture first: the C20 W’s sound and features are persuasive only if the cabinet can be positioned properly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can two Audio Pro C20 W speakers be used as a stereo pair?
Yes. Audio Pro states that two C20 units can be paired for stereo, creating a left and right speaker arrangement instead of using one cabinet alone. This is useful when you have matching space on both sides of a TV or listening position.
Can the C20 W send vinyl playback to other rooms?
Yes. Audio Pro describes re-streaming a turntable connected to the C20 W to other compatible Audio Pro speakers in a multiroom system. The record player remains connected to the C20 W, while the other speakers receive the networked stream.
