ArcheAge Chronicles enters Steam Early Access on November 3, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST). That is 11:00 p.m. GMT in the UK, midnight CET on November 4, and 8:00 a.m. KST on November 4. The PC game is buy-to-play rather than free-to-play or subscription-based: the Early Access price is $29.99 in North America, with regional Steam pricing elsewhere.
This FAQ explains the launch clock, server choices, demo carry-over, progression systems, classes, content, platforms, requirements, monetization, and the reasons to buy on day one or wait.

When does ArcheAge Chronicles Early Access start?
Early Access unlocks on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. PST. XLGAMES used both “PST” and “PT” in its October announcements; daylight-saving time in the Pacific region ends on November 1, so 3:00 p.m. Pacific on launch day is UTC−8, not UTC−7.

Reports that put the European release on November 3 or convert the Pacific time using daylight time are incorrect. November 4 in Korea and November 4 in Central Europe describe the same instant as November 3 in North America. Pre-orders opened on Steam on October 27 at 8:00 a.m. PDT.

The Steam Next Fest demo is over. It ran from October 19 at 10:00 a.m. PDT to October 26 at 10:00 a.m. PDT, and there is no advertised public build between the demo and paid Early Access.
What does ArcheAge Chronicles cost, and is it free-to-play?
ArcheAge Chronicles uses a buy-to-play model. XLGAMES says you purchase the game once and do not need a recurring subscription to keep playing. The announced Early Access price is $29.99 in North America and ₩36,000 in Korea; a UK Steam listing showed £26.99 on October 28. Other territories use Steam regional pricing.

That makes the current price a launch price, not a promise that the 1.0 price will be identical.
A studio-cited launch summary says there is no in-game store at the start of Early Access. XLGAMES has described any later store as potentially covering extra content, customization, and convenience, and has said it will not sell pay-to-win items. Specific future items, prices, and opening dates have not been announced, so do not treat a later cash-shop plan as finalized.
What is the pre-order reward?
Pre-orders include the Dawn Pioneer Set, shown on Steam as the Dawn Pioneer Outfit Chest and also described as the Dawnbreaker Vanguard Outfit. It is one costume for one class of your choice. After launch, open the main menu, choose Claim Reward (or press N), then use the chest in your inventory.
The costume becomes bound to the character that claims it. Claim it only on the character you intend to keep; putting it on a temporary test character cannot be undone by moving the item to another character.

XLGAMES has not published a named Early Access server list. Instead, the game now selects a region automatically from your location and displays clearer region labels on the server-selection screen. The producer’s October 29 letter confirms that Brazil and Singapore servers were added for Early Access.
The demo’s last published footprint was North America East, North America West, Europe Central, Asia East, and Asia South. Brazil was added during the demo and appeared under the North America category in that menu. The Early Access interface may retain a similar label even though Brazil has its own server capacity.
There is no announced Oceania region. Players in Australia and New Zealand should expect to choose whichever automatic recommendation—usually Asia or North America—gives the lower latency. Because the final named list is not public, check the labels shown by the live client rather than relying on an old screenshot or a fan-made server table.

How do channels and parties work?
Zones use Peace and Conflict channels rather than isolating players into entirely different worlds. Parties remain together across both channel types, invitations work across them, and a player can move directly to the party leader’s channel. Dungeon and instance progress is intended to survive a disconnect in every Early Access region, and some sections that were solo-only in the demo can now be played with a party.

Does Steam Next Fest demo progress carry over?
No. Demo characters, quests, inventory, and save data do not transfer to Early Access. You start a new character when the paid build opens on November 3.
The demo offered roughly two to three hours in early Diamond Shores, all four classes, the first public PvP experience, and the Throne of Hinnon dungeon. Housing and trading were intentionally excluded. The September 12 invite-only network test was also separate: it was North America-only, lasted about six hours for the event, and is not a progression bridge to Early Access.
There is currently no advertised open-beta registration. After the demo closed, the next public play opportunity is the paid Steam Early Access release.

How does progression work? Are trait points earned from levels?
No. Levels give stat points; trait points come from Raeven’s Coilstones near powerful bosses. XLGAMES split these systems so that leveling rewards general character growth while dangerous exploration and boss encounters unlock weapon specialization.
Levels, experience, and six stats
Characters begin at level 1. Monster kills provide some experience, but most experience comes from quests, discoveries, and points of interest. Each level grants stat points that you assign manually:
- Strength: physical attack.
- Intelligence: magic attack.
- Agility: critical-hit chance and some physical attack.
- Constitution: hit points and critical resistance.
- Endurance: stamina and defense.
- Talent: support for magic attack and the ability to wear better gear without penalties.
The character screen previews changes to attack power and critical statistics before you confirm an allocation. That preview lets you test a build direction without guessing how one point will affect the final numbers.
Weapon-specific trait trees
Every weapon type has its own trait tree. A Warrior’s longsword and greatsword are separate trees, so changing weapons is a meaningful build decision rather than a cosmetic swap. Nodes can add small statistics, unlock skills, or modify an existing skill.

Don’s greatsword example illustrates the split: one route emphasizes Armor Break and Sweeping Slash damage, while another improves a guarding Pummel Strike and shield-oriented play. Two characters using the same weapon can therefore develop different rotations and defensive tools.
Trait costs, layouts, and alternate skills may change during Early Access as feedback arrives. The launch combat notes also add new stat nodes and four new Lunastones, so screenshots of an early tree may not match the live version.
Other ways to grow
- Nui Tears: offer them at a Nui Statue to raise maximum HP; later increases cost more tears.
- Exploration and treasure: many chests and discoverable objects open once per character, preventing a first-player race for every reward.
- Field bosses: drop gear, accessories, and unique crafting materials.
- Hersander’s Tower: complete each zone’s riddle offerings to earn a unique accessory and unlock a timed, powered-up Hereafter Challenge with a leaderboard.
- Dungeons: are instanced for one player or a party of up to four. They can be played solo, and quest progress is shared within the party. Throne of Hinnon was the deliberately difficult demo example.
XLGAMES has not stated an Early Access level cap in the published material, so do not plan around a rumored cap.
What is in Early Access compared with the demo?
Early Access is much larger than the festival slice. The launch build covers three Auroria regions: most of Diamond Shores, Gylden Ruins, and Astron Plains. XLGAMES describes more than 60 areas, over 1,000 exploration and collection points, and roughly 20 times the demo’s size. Each region has its own stories, bosses, and dungeons.
Ham estimates more than 10 hours of main-quest play in each region and more than 30 hours across all three before side activities. Actual time varies with exploration, combat difficulty, and how much optional content you pursue.
The Steam description lists exploration, dungeons, raids, PvP, housing, crafting, trading, and company and guild activities. Housing and trading were not in the demo, so those systems are part of the Early Access expansion rather than returning demo features.
Which classes and weapons are available, and are classes still gender-locked?
Early Access starts with four classes—Warrior, Ranger, Mage, and Berserker—and two weapons per class, for eight weapons total. Developer examples explicitly include Warrior longsword and greatsword, Ranger hatchet and longbow, Mage elemental staff and wavesword, and Berserker warhammer and an axe-and-shield setup; XLGAMES has not published a single official eight-weapon chart, so weapon naming can vary by guide.
Classes remain gender-locked at the November 3 launch. The first planned change is a female Warrior in the first December update. XLGAMES intends to add gender selection one class at a time and remove all gender locks by full release, but later classes do not yet have dates.

The first update also adds the Warrior’s third weapon, Gladius. A third weapon for each other class is planned class by class. If female Warrior creation or Gladius is your main reason to play, waiting for the December update is a reasonable alternative to starting on day one.

How do Peace and Conflict channels differ?
Peace and Conflict use the same zones and quests, but Conflict enables open player-versus-player attacks on players outside your party or guild. Peace channels do not allow that standard player combat. You switch channels at a Nui Statue, subject to a delay or cooldown.
Secondary summaries of Don’s PvP explanation report roughly 10–15% more monster experience in Conflict channels and no item or currency loss when a player is killed. The bonus is a reported figure rather than a value repeated in the latest producer letter, so it could change in Early Access. Parties can stay together while moving between channel types, which lets a group choose safer questing or riskier PvP without splitting up.
Can I play on PS5 or Xbox on November 3?
No console Early Access date has been confirmed. November 3 is a Steam PC launch. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions have been shown and appear as wishlist or concept listings, but XLGAMES has not announced when those versions will become playable. An Epic Games Store listing is mentioned in secondary FAQs without a matching Early Access date or price.
Steam Deck compatibility is listed as unknown. Do not assume that a Deck installation will be supported until the store status changes or XLGAMES publishes a handheld statement.

The Steam feature list says the game uses kernel-level anti-cheat, identified as XIGNCODE3. Supported Steam languages are English UI and subtitles, Korean UI, full audio and subtitles, Simplified Chinese UI and subtitles, and Traditional Chinese UI and subtitles.
Launch fixes announced after the demo include a shader-compilation screen instead of a blank black screen, login and disconnect fixes, an antivirus launch-failure fix, multi-monitor and fullscreen improvements, and automatic fallback if upscaling or frame generation fails. These changes supersede the demo-era advice to simply wait several minutes at a black screen.

XLGAMES expects Early Access to last approximately nine to 12 months, with major and minor updates throughout. The estimate can change with player feedback and development progress.
The studio plans to publish a roadmap soon after launch, once players have spent time with the initial build. That timing is deliberate: XLGAMES wants feedback from the live version to shape priorities rather than promise a detailed schedule before release.

Longer-term plans listed on Steam include more Auroria regions, additional gender options, a third weapon for every class, combat and progression balance work, party-channel quality-of-life improvements, and expanded life skills and community systems.
Should you buy on November 3 or wait?
Buy on day one if you want immediate access to three regions, housing and trade systems, guild and company activities, and a large-scale cooperative world at the announced $29.99 entry price. The pre-order costume is another reason to purchase before launch, provided you understand that it is bound to the character who claims it.
Waiting makes sense if you prefer a more settled roadmap, want to see how combat and trait trees change, need female character options beyond the planned December Warrior, or specifically want the Gladius. The Early Access price may rise at 1.0, but the date and amount of any increase are not known.
Either choice should be made with the same expectation: this is an evolving build, not the finished release. Combat feel, balance, progression, and quality-of-life features will continue to change, while the studio has not promised that every Early Access system or character state will remain exactly as it is at launch.
What should I do before launch?
- Confirm that your PC has a 100 GB SSD space and meets the CPU, GPU, RAM, Windows, and DirectX 12 requirements.
- Convert 3:00 p.m. PST on November 3 to your local time; Korea and much of Europe start on November 4.
- Choose a main character carefully if you pre-ordered, because the Dawn Pioneer costume binds to its claiming character.
- Expect to create a new character; demo saves do not carry over.
- Let the client’s automatic region selection choose a starting server, then verify latency before committing to a long-term group.
- Decide whether Peace’s safer questing or Conflict’s optional PvP suits your group. A Nui Statue lets you change channels later, subject to cooldown.

Is there an open beta before the paid launch?
No open-beta sign-up is currently advertised. The free Next Fest demo ended on October 26, and the next public build is the paid Steam Early Access version.

Will my Early Access character be wiped at full release?
XLGAMES has not published a definitive wipe policy in the available Early Access material. Treat persistence into the 1.0 release as unconfirmed rather than assuming that launch characters are permanent.
What languages and voice options does the PC version support?
Steam lists English, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese interfaces and subtitles. Korean is the only listed language with full voice audio; the other listed languages have UI and subtitle support.
Is ArcheAge Chronicles verified for Steam Deck?
The Steam store currently marks Steam Deck compatibility as unknown. A Deck user should wait for an official compatibility status or updated requirements before treating handheld play as supported.
