Instead of Songen
Songen alternatives
Songen is a focused iPhone, iPad, and Mac beat-making app for generating full instrumental MIDI loops in nearly 50 styles. Its on-device engine writes lead, chords, bass, and drums from scratch, then lets you regenerate tracks or sections, edit notes in a chord-aware piano roll, and export full mixes or stems as MIDI and WAV. Generation and exports work offline, and its royalty-free terms allow selling, licensing, or releasing generated beats without clearance, attribution, or extra fees.

An alternative may fit better if you need Android or Windows access, browser use, text-prompt workflows, vocals, broader audio tools, or a different editing focus. Songen does not write lyrics or record vocals, and its free tier allows 100 generated loops daily with one free export; Premium raises export access but still caps exports at 250 monthly. Compare platform reach, prompt or pattern control, track and stem handling, commercial rights, offline needs, and pricing before switching.
