Instead of NetsCLI

NetsCLI alternatives

NetsCLI brings LAN discovery, TCP and UDP port scans, DNS queries, and host inspection together across a desktop app, terminal UI, command-line interface, and MCP server. It is free under the MIT license for personal, open-source, and commercial use on Linux, macOS, and Windows. The desktop app supports investigation tabs, filtering, sorting, exports, and scan history; CLI operations can return JSON or YAML, with CSV and Markdown for lists. Its MCP server gives compatible AI clients structured access to local network tools.

A switch may make sense if you need deeper service or operating-system detection, scripted scans, very broad address ranges, or a web dashboard. NetsCLI does not offer remote administration, NSE scripts, advanced service detection, or OS fingerprinting. Compare the alternatives by scan scope and inputs, detection depth, output options, and whether you want a desktop tool, CLI, API, or web interface. If packet capture matters, note that NetsCLI requires separate downloads and platform-specific dependencies for it.
