Instead of JamesDSP
JamesDSP alternatives
JamesDSP gives Android and Linux users a free, open-source processor for shaping audio through bass boost, compression, reverb, equalizers, convolution, crossfeed, widening, analog modeling and limiting. Its arbitrary-response equalizer connects to AutoEQ but needs a network connection, while EEL2 scripting supports custom effects through a small coding interface. Linux users can run it with PipeWire or PulseAudio, although PulseAudio is maintained for compatibility. PipeWire clients also receive selective app exclusion and target-device selection, and D-Bus plus command-line controls manage settings, presets, devices and rules.

An alternative may fit better when you need Windows or macOS support, audio routing between applications, recording, plugin hosting, creator-oriented mixing or spatial playback. JamesDSP’s app exclusion and target-device controls do not cover every backend, and its Flatpak is sandboxed to its application data directory by default. Compare the operating systems, routing model, effect chain, recording and monitoring needs, plugin support, and whether a free or paid option suits you. The choices below range from budgeting software to audio infrastructure, mixers and gaming-focused spatial audio.
