Instead of Feem
Feem alternatives
Feem moves files directly between nearby devices over a shared Wi-Fi network, hotspot, or Wi-Fi Direct, without routing them through the Internet. Devices on the same network are discovered automatically, and full-duplex transfers let them send and receive at once. It also includes device-to-device chat, encrypts local transfers with TLS 1.3, and offers unlimited file transfers on its free plan. It runs on Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web, and Windows.

TorrServer
Free plan AndroidAPIiPhone+5Streaming torrent content over HTTP — TorrServer streams torrent content over HTTP and adds caching, search integrations, and playback URLs, rather than transferring files directly between nearby devices.
- 2
BiglyBT
Free plan Open source AndroidAPILinux+3Managing BitTorrent downloads with detailed controls — BiglyBT is an ad-free BitTorrent client with swarm merging, scheduled bandwidth controls, discovery tools, and network privacy options instead of Feem’s local-device transfers.

BitComet
Free plan AndroidAPIExtension+5Downloading across BitTorrent, HTTP, and FTP — BitComet combines BitTorrent, HTTP, and FTP downloading with video previews and cross-protocol sources, unlike Feem’s direct local transfers.
- 4

Free plan AndroidiPhoneLinux+3Synchronizing and selectively sharing files — Resilio Sync synchronizes and shares files peer-to-peer, with folder permissions and Selective Sync, while Feem sends files directly without permanent sync connections.
- 5
aMule
Free plan Open source APILinuxMac+3Sharing files on eD2k and Kademlia networks — aMule searches and shares through eD2k and Kademlia networks and supports remote and headless operation, rather than Feem’s nearby-device workflow.

- 7
FrostWire
Free plan AndroidLinuxMac+1Searching, previewing, and playing media downloads — FrostWire combines BitTorrent downloads with in-app search, previews, a media library, and playback, unlike Feem’s direct file-transfer focus.

That local-device workflow has limits: devices need to be near each other on the same network, so Feem cannot send files to someone in another city. Transfers also require the app to remain in the foreground, which mobile operating systems may interrupt. The alternatives here mostly address different needs, such as finding and downloading torrent content, streaming it, or synchronizing files across devices. Consider whether you need local transfers or a content-sharing network, and weigh features such as remote control, search, selective access, and browser interfaces against Feem’s offline links and device-to-device chat.
