Instead of Complementary Shaders
Complementary Shaders alternatives
Complementary Shaders is a free Minecraft Java Edition shader pack for Linux, macOS, and Windows. Its Unbound style targets a more realistic appearance, while Reimagined keeps Minecraft’s visual elements. Both styles provide customizable settings, and profiles run from Potato to Ultra. Custom effects cover almost every block, while the shaders are designed to avoid obstructing gameplay. The Complementary Installer can set up the pack with Iris, although Java is required to run that installer. Manual downloads require users to install a shader loader themselves.

The Java Edition requirement is a clear boundary, and setup differs depending on whether you use the installer or a manual download. Because Complementary Shaders is free, switching may depend more on visual direction, performance controls, effects, materials, integrations, or loader compatibility. The alternatives below range from vanilla-preserving graphics and extensive settings to lightweight rendering, fantasy scenes, specialized lighting, and pipelines that require different mods. Consider which Minecraft edition, loader, hardware profile, visual effects, and customization approach fit your setup before choosing another pack.
