Acer’s May 28, 2026 Atlas 8 announcement said North American, EMEA and Australian availability would begin in October 2026. Acer’s September 2, 2026 Atlas 7 announcement described Atlas 8 availability in North America and EMEA from September 2026. Those dated announcements conflict, so they should not be treated as proof that a particular US configuration is in stock today.
Memory information also differs by page. An earlier Atlas 8 release describes up to 24 GB of RAM, while Acer’s current US family page displays up to 32 GB. The exact product code and specification sheet are more reliable than a family-wide maximum.

Can the Acer Arc G3 Extreme play Steam, Game Pass and other PC games?
Yes, the Atlas handhelds are Windows PCs rather than devices limited to one proprietary game store. You can install supported Windows launchers and play eligible PC titles from Steam, other storefronts and Game Pass. “Can run” is not the same as “every title will work well,” however: Acer conditions support on the game’s requirements, drivers, anti-cheat system and compatibility.

Does the Atlas 7 or Atlas 8 run full Windows?
Yes. Acer specifies Windows 11 Home for both the Atlas 7 and Atlas 8. That means the handheld can use the normal Windows desktop, install launchers and utilities, connect to standard peripherals and receive Windows updates, subject to the usual driver and software requirements.
Windows flexibility brings desktop-PC trade-offs. How long does the Arc G3 Extreme battery last?
The honest answer is that Acer publishes battery capacity, not one universal number of gaming hours. Atlas 8 specifications list 60 Wh on select models and up to 80 Wh; the Atlas 7 announcement lists up to 80 Wh. Acer states that “Battery life and charging time still vary by configuration, power settings, usage, and other factors.” Watt-hours describe stored capacity, not a guaranteed runtime in a particular game.
Intel advertises as much as 11 hours for its G-series handheld platform, but that figure came from a specified test of an MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ using three games at 1080p Low, applicable 2× upscaling and defined power modes. It is not an Acer Atlas result and should not be used to predict Atlas endurance. No cited Acer source supplies a controlled, per-game runtime for a named Atlas G3 Extreme SKU.
What changes real-world endurance?
