3. Where is the vault stored?

- Clean up exports. Remove CSV or other plaintext exports from your computer, cloud recycle bin, email, and messaging history. Retain only an encrypted backup that you can restore.
How do you handle syncing and backups with a local manager?
Local software is not “set and forget.” Keep at least one primary database and two backups stored in different places, with one copy protected from accidental overwrite or ransomware. Do not edit the same database concurrently on two devices unless the application and sync method explicitly support conflict handling. A safer routine is to close the database, let the sync complete, open it on the next device, and resolve any conflict before making more changes. If the manager supports key files or additional credentials, back them up with the database but not in the same unprotected folder.
