Short answer: Choso has the broadest documented Blood Manipulation toolkit and the strongest stated control, Noritoshi Kamo is the most clearly established precision-and-discipline specialist, and Yuji Itadori brings the technique into a physically exceptional fighting style without a source-backed case that he surpasses either veteran in every category. All three are documented users of Convergence and Piercing Blood, but their bodies, supporting techniques, and combat priorities make those shared moves play very differently.
This comparison includes detailed manga developments and therefore contains spoilers. It focuses on what is actually established for Yuji, Choso, and Noritoshi Kamo rather than assigning invented speed, range, damage, blood-volume, or win-rate statistics.

What the comparison actually shows
Blood Manipulation is not one attack but a system. The user compresses, shapes, redirects, hardens, and circulates blood for both offense and physical reinforcement. That means “who is strongest?” has no single answer unless the question specifies the test: a long-range exchange, a close-quarters fight, sustained output, projectile variety, or technical control.
On the evidence available, the most defensible overall reading is:

- Yuji: a confirmed user of Convergence and Piercing Blood whose exceptional physical fighting style changes the value of every opening, but whose complete Blood Manipulation repertoire is not established by the collected references.
That is a comparison of documented capabilities, not a claim that one character automatically wins every encounter.
The shared foundation: Convergence and Piercing Blood
Convergence is the preparation step
Convergence compresses blood before the user fires Piercing Blood. It is therefore not a separate ranged shot that can be treated as interchangeable with the projectile. The user must first create the compressed blood mass, then convert that preparation into the attack.
The references identify Yuji, Choso, and Noritoshi Kamo as users of Convergence. No authoritative timing figure is provided for how long the compression takes, so a precise “charge time” should not be assigned. The important tactical fact is commitment: the user has to create the setup while managing the opponent’s attempt to interrupt, evade, or force a change of plan.
Piercing Blood is the payoff
Piercing Blood is a dense, high-penetration projectile produced from the Convergence setup. The JJK Guide describes it as “the kill shot of Blood Manipulation,” a phrase that should be attributed to that secondary reference rather than to Gege Akutami or an official Shueisha databook.
Because all three characters are documented users, the existence of Piercing Blood alone does not settle the matchup. The meaningful questions are whether the user can create a safe firing lane, how accurately the shot is placed, what happens if the opponent closes distance, and how much blood the user can spend before the exchange becomes unsustainable. The collected material supplies no validated velocity, range, impact-energy, or damage number for any of those questions.

Yuji Itadori: a confirmed user with a different combat equation
What is firmly documented
The collected technique references confirm Yuji for Convergence and Piercing Blood. That gives him the same basic compression-to-projectile line as Choso and Kamo. The material does not establish a complete list of every Blood Manipulation extension Yuji can perform, so it would be inaccurate to present him as having the same documented catalogue as Choso or Kamo.
Why his physical style matters
Yuji’s value is not limited to standing at range and trading shots. The broader story presents him as an exceptionally physical fighter, so Blood Manipulation can be read as an addition to an already dangerous close-range style. A successful Piercing Blood setup can force an opponent to respect distance; a missed or interrupted setup does not automatically make Yuji helpless, because his hand-to-hand ability remains central to how he fights.

That interaction is the key distinction. Kamo’s and Choso’s documented profiles describe Blood Manipulation as an established fighting system with named close-range and ranged branches. Yuji’s documented comparison is narrower: he has the shared high-value techniques, and those techniques are layered onto a fighter whose physical pressure can change the opponent’s response window. The references do not provide enough evidence to rank his control, blood economy, or technical breadth above the other two.
What cannot be concluded
It is not supported to say that Yuji universally has the fastest Piercing Blood, the greatest range, the largest blood reserve, or superior mastery of every extension. None of those numerical or all-category rankings appears in the collected sources. A fair description is that Yuji has confirmed access to a powerful ranged line and a distinct hybrid combat context.
Choso: control, physiology, and the largest documented toolkit
Control beyond the Kamo-clan baseline
Choso’s profile is the strongest explicit statement about control among the three. The JJK Guide says he has “a level of control that surpasses the Kamo clan sorcerers who originated the technique.” That is a quotation from a secondary reference site, not a creator statement. It nevertheless gives Choso a clear evidence-based edge when the comparison axis is fine control rather than an invented numerical output ranking.

Death Painting physiology changes blood economy
Choso’s unusual Death Painting physiology is relevant because Blood Manipulation consumes and moves the user’s own blood. The collected material supports treating his body as atypical, but it does not publish a universal blood-volume figure or a formula that converts physiology into a guaranteed amount of ammunition. The safe conclusion is narrower: Choso’s physiology affects how sustainability and recovery should be discussed, so human sorcerer assumptions cannot simply be transferred to him.
Blood Meteorite and Supernova expand his options
Blood Meteorite creates dense blood rounds whose impact is described as substantially harder than ordinary Blood Manipulation projectiles. This gives Choso a projectile option that is not merely another presentation of Piercing Blood. The technique index also lists Supernova for him, adding another distinctive offensive route.
These extensions matter in a comparison because they reduce Choso’s dependence on one predictable sequence. He can threaten with the shared Convergence-to-Piercing-Blood line, use a more immediately available attack, reinforce his body, or switch to specialized projectile pressure. That variety does not prove an automatic win in every matchup, but it is why Choso has the broadest documented package here.
Flowing Red Scale: Stack
Flowing Red Scale manipulates blood internally to improve physical performance. The references distinguish Choso’s Stack variant from Kamo’s standard use. That distinction gives Choso a documented bridge between ranged Blood Manipulation and close-quarters pressure: he does not need to remain a stationary projectile user while preparing his next attack.
Noritoshi Kamo: hereditary precision and reliable fundamentals
The Kamo-clan model
Noritoshi Kamo represents the hereditary, precision-oriented form of Blood Manipulation. His documented kit includes Convergence, Piercing Blood, Slicing Exorcism, and Flowing Red Scale. In practical terms, that is a balanced set: a committed high-penetration shot, a more immediately available ranged cutting option, and internal reinforcement for close combat.

Slicing Exorcism reduces setup dependence
Slicing Exorcism is positioned as more immediately available than the Convergence-to-Piercing-Blood sequence. That difference is tactically important. Kamo can apply ranged pressure without always announcing the same compression setup, which helps him respond when an opponent is moving unpredictably or denying a clean firing lane.
The attack should not be treated as proof that Kamo has greater raw output than Choso or Yuji. Its documented advantage is availability and practical use in the sequence of a fight. It gives Kamo a way to keep attacking while preserving the option to prepare Piercing Blood later.
Flowing Red Scale in close combat
Kamo’s standard Flowing Red Scale is the clearest documented example of Blood Manipulation turned inward for physical enhancement. The JJK Guide summarizes the concept as “Blood Manipulation turned inward.” As with the Choso quotation, that wording belongs to the secondary guide, not to an official creator interview or databook.
This makes Kamo less one-dimensional than a purely ranged specialist. He can reinforce his physical performance, use his hereditary technique at close distance, and return to ranged attacks when space opens. The collected sources do not provide validated accuracy, speed, or output statistics, so “precision-oriented” describes the documented style rather than a measurable ranking.

1. Physiology and blood supply
Blood Manipulation has an obvious resource question: what happens when the user expends blood faster than the body can safely replace it? Choso’s Death Painting physiology makes his resource model unusual, while Kamo is presented as a human Kamo-clan sorcerer. Yuji’s complete blood-supply profile is not established in the collected references.

That means sustainability should be discussed comparatively, not numerically. Choso has the clearest physiological distinction; no source supplies a universal millilitre count, regeneration rate, or endurance table that can be used to rank all three.
2. Close range versus distance
Flowing Red Scale is the documented bridge between the two ranges. Kamo has the standard form, and Choso has the Stack variant. Yuji is confirmed for the ranged Convergence and Piercing Blood sequence, while his broader physical fighting style gives him a separate close-range threat even when a Blood Manipulation enhancement is not established by these references.
In a fight that stays at distance, projectile access and firing opportunities matter most. In a compressed melee, internal reinforcement and the fighter’s baseline physical ability matter more. That is why a single “best user” label hides the actual matchup conditions.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3. Projectile variety
Choso leads on documented variety. He has the shared Piercing Blood line plus Blood Meteorite and Supernova. Kamo adds Slicing Exorcism to the shared techniques. Yuji’s collected listing confirms Convergence and Piercing Blood but does not establish equivalent access to every named extension.
4. Setup and commitment
Convergence must precede Piercing Blood, so the shot carries a setup requirement. No reliable duration is published, but the sequence still creates a tactical commitment. Slicing Exorcism gives Kamo and Choso a documented ranged alternative that is more immediately available. Choso’s additional attacks further reduce the danger of relying on one telegraphed line.
5. Control and adaptability
Choso has the clearest stated control advantage over Kamo-clan sorcerers. Kamo’s adaptability comes from a disciplined set of ranged and internal techniques. Yuji’s adaptability is best described through the interaction between his confirmed Blood Manipulation attacks and exceptional physical fighting, not through an unsupported claim that he has mastered every branch.
How to judge a specific matchup
Use the following decision sequence instead of asking for a universal tier list:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Identify the starting distance. A long-range opening favors the user who can create and protect a firing lane; an immediate melee reduces the value of a slow or interruptible setup.
- Check which attacks require preparation. Piercing Blood depends on Convergence. If the opponent can force movement during that preparation, an immediately available option becomes more valuable.
- Count the documented alternatives. Choso’s Blood Meteorite and Supernova, plus his Flowing Red Scale Stack, give him more named branches than the references establish for Yuji.
- Separate control from raw force. Choso’s stated control advantage is not the same as a published damage multiplier. Do not convert descriptive language into an invented statistic.
- Account for physiology. Choso’s Death Painting body changes the blood-economy discussion. Do not assume that a human sorcerer’s limits apply identically.
- Define the win condition. A comparison based on landing one penetrating projectile can produce a different answer from a comparison based on surviving a prolonged exchange or winning at close range.
Common mistakes in Blood Manipulation comparisons
- Treating Piercing Blood as a complete technique by itself: the relevant sequence begins with Convergence.
- Assuming shared access means equal mastery: Yuji, Choso, and Kamo are all listed for the shared techniques, but that does not establish identical control or output.
- Calling Choso “the best” without defining the category: his strongest evidence is superior documented control and broader named variety, not a universal numerical ranking.
- Ignoring Slicing Exorcism: Kamo and Choso have a documented ranged cutting option that is more immediately available than the Piercing Blood setup.
- Assigning Yuji every technique shown by another user: the collected references confirm his Convergence and Piercing Blood, not a complete catalogue of all extensions.
- Inventing statistics: the collected sources publish no authoritative damage, velocity, range, blood-volume, or win-rate figures.
- Using guide wording as creator canon: statements from the JJK Guide should be credited to that secondary reference and not presented as quotations from Gege Akutami or an official databook.
Bottom-line ranking by category
| Category | Best-supported reading | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Documented control | Choso | His profile explicitly places his control above Kamo-clan sorcerers. |
| Named technique variety | Choso | He has the shared techniques plus Blood Meteorite, Supernova, and Flowing Red Scale Stack. |
| Hereditary precision model | Noritoshi Kamo | His documented kit represents the disciplined Kamo-clan approach. |
| Immediate ranged flexibility | Choso and Noritoshi Kamo | Slicing Exorcism is documented for both and is positioned as more immediately available than the Piercing Blood sequence. |
| Hybrid physical pressure | Yuji Itadori | His confirmed Blood Manipulation attacks are layered onto an exceptional physical fighting style. |
| Universal overall winner | Not established | The sources do not publish a reliable all-category ranking or numerical comparison. |
If “best” means the broadest documented Blood Manipulation arsenal and the strongest stated control, Choso is the answer. If it means the most recognizable hereditary precision framework, Kamo is the clearest example. If it means the most intriguing combination of confirmed Blood Manipulation and elite physical combat, Yuji is the distinctive case—but the available evidence does not justify saying he has already surpassed the other two across the board.
