To send an OBS stream to YouTube, copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, then enter them in OBS’s streaming settings. There is no Malayalam-specific stream key setting. The key connects OBS to YouTube; it does not make a video playlist loop continuously. YouTube’s guidance reviewed here does not establish a native OBS workflow for looping a creator’s playlist 24/7, and a stream longer than 12 hours may not be archived.
What the stream key does—and what it does not do
YouTube describes stream keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” The key and server URL let an encoder such as OBS send a live feed to YouTube. A reusable key can save setup time, but it does not create a live event or control what OBS plays. Keep it private; if it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and replace it in OBS. YouTube’s stream settings guidance explains keys and stream configuration.

“Playlist” can mean two different things here. A creator’s playlist is a sequence of videos intended for playback; an HLS playlist is a rolling list of media segments used by that delivery protocol. YouTube’s HLS segment rules are not instructions for looping creator videos. Do not select HLS just because you want a playlist to repeat. YouTube recommends RTMPS for typical encoder streams; its HLS guidance is for cases such as HDR or codecs not supported by RTMP and notes higher latency. See YouTube’s HLS setup guidance.

- Make sure the channel is verified and eligible to live stream. YouTube says a channel must have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. See YouTube’s encoder setup steps.
- Decide how the Malayalam audio and video will be played and kept running. A stream key alone cannot automate playback or guarantee continuous transmission.
- Confirm you have the necessary rights for both the live broadcast and any archive. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and may interrupt or terminate a stream when it detects a match. See YouTube’s livestream terms and copyright guidance for live streams.
Find the YouTube stream URL and key
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live.
- Create a stream or open the scheduled stream you intend to use in Live Control Room.
- Copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream. Treat the key like a password: do not share it or include it in a public screenshot.
YouTube’s interface and available options can change; use the URL and key displayed for the selected stream rather than reusing a server address from an unrelated setup. For the official walkthrough, see Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.

Enter the key in OBS and test the connection
- Open OBS and go to Settings → Stream.
- If YouTube is available in the service list, select it and choose the applicable connection option. Otherwise, choose a custom service and paste YouTube’s copied server URL into the server field.
- Paste the stream key into the key field. Check carefully for missing or extra characters, then select Apply and OK.
- Start streaming from OBS and check the Live Control Room preview and stream health before relying on the feed. A successful encoder connection confirms the feed is reaching YouTube; it does not prove that a playlist will loop or recover indefinitely.
If someone else may have seen the key, reset it in Live Control Room and update OBS with the replacement. Do not try to solve a rejected key by changing language metadata: Malayalam does not require a special key type in the YouTube guidance reviewed.
Choose encoder settings for a stable feed
For a typical SDR stream using RTMP or RTMPS, YouTube’s current encoder guidance recommends H.264 and CBR. It recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. RTMPS is the recommended connection protocol for typical streams. Settings must also fit the source and the upload capacity that will be available throughout the broadcast.

These are YouTube ingestion recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular internet connection will sustain the stream. Choose a resolution and bitrate that the source can produce and the connection can hold steadily; test with representative motion and audio, then watch stream health. Can OBS loop a Malayalam playlist 24/7?
The key setup above connects OBS to YouTube, but YouTube’s official guidance reviewed here does not establish a native OBS procedure for looping a creator’s video playlist continuously for 24 hours a day. The HLS rolling segment playlist is not that feature. Before scheduling a continuous channel, validate the playback and automation method separately, including what happens when a file ends, OBS or the computer restarts, or the connection drops.

A reusable key supports repeated encoder connections; it is not a continuity guarantee. Keep a local copy of the source files and a recording where practical. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. It recommends a local archive backup. See Archive live streams.
Common problems and fixes
- YouTube does not receive the OBS feed: Confirm the selected stream is the one open in Live Control Room, and copy its current server URL and key again. Check for accidental spaces or truncation in the key.
- The connection starts but the feed is unstable: Reduce resolution or bitrate to a level the upload connection can sustain; use YouTube’s H.264 guidance and observe stream health rather than assuming a setting is suitable.
- The key may be compromised: Reset it in Live Control Room, then replace the saved key in OBS before reconnecting.
- The stream ends when the video finishes: The stream key does not provide looping. Verify the playback automation separately; the reviewed YouTube guidance does not define a native OBS 24/7 playlist recipe.
- The live stream is interrupted for a content match: Check that you have rights to every video and music track for live use and archiving. YouTube may interrupt or terminate live content when a third-party match is detected.
- The archive is missing or incomplete: Do not assume a 24-hour stream will be saved. YouTube warns that streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured; retain a local recording or backup.
