“Encoder disconnected” means YouTube has stopped receiving your live video feed; it does not, by itself, prove JioFiber is at fault. Check the encoder and stream first, then test upload stability and your local network, and finally run JioFiber diagnostics in MyJio. Compare the error’s timestamp with your encoder logs or local recording so you can narrow down where the feed stopped.
1. Record what happened before changing settings
In YouTube Live Control Room, note the exact health message and its timestamp. YouTube says health errors carry timestamps and remain visible while unresolved. Then check what the encoder reported at the same time.

- Did the encoder itself report a lost connection, or did only Live Control Room show the error?
- Did the encoder’s local preview or recording continue without interruption?
- Did other devices or internet services in the home lose connectivity at the same time?
- Was the error present as soon as you started streaming, or did it begin mid-stream?
These comparisons help distinguish an encoder problem from an outbound network problem. YouTube’s live-stream troubleshooting guidance says a healthy-looking stream can still point to an issue with the outbound internet connection. A matching timestamp is more useful than changing several settings at once.
2. Check the encoder and stream setup
Update the encoder and inspect its local output
Install the latest available version of your encoder, then check its connection status, CPU load, preview and local recording or archive. If the local output also freezes, glitches or stops, address the encoder or computer first. If it remains healthy while YouTube loses the feed, continue to network checks.

If the error appears immediately at startup, YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance suggests creating a new stream key in Live Control Room and updating the encoder with it. A new key is a targeted startup check, not a default fix for a disconnection that begins after the stream has been running.
Verify the encoder settings against YouTube’s guidance
Compare your setup with YouTube’s current encoder settings guidance. Check that you are using RTMP or RTMPS, a supported video codec and audio format, constant bitrate, and a keyframe interval of two seconds. YouTube recommends two seconds and says not to exceed four. Choose the bitrate for your actual resolution, frame rate and codec rather than copying a number from a different configuration.

For context, YouTube’s H.264 table lists 5 Mbps as the minimum and 14 Mbps as the recommended bitrate for 1080p at 30 fps; for 1080p at 60 fps, it lists 6 Mbps minimum and 17 Mbps recommended. Those figures apply to those specific H.264 rows, not to every stream.
If RTMPS reports an SSL or timeout error
Confirm that the encoder supports RTMPS and that its full server URL matches the RTMPS URL shown in Live Control Room. YouTube’s RTMPS guidance says you can try specifying port 443 if the URL otherwise looks correct.

3. Test upload capacity and network stability
A download-speed headline or advertised plan speed does not establish that the connection can sustain your stream’s upload. YouTube says total streaming bitrate must fit the available upload bandwidth and recommends leaving 20% headroom. Other people and devices sharing the connection can reduce the bandwidth available to the encoder. If you use primary and backup streams, include both bitrates when assessing capacity.
Measure upload performance while the household is using the network as it normally would during a stream. Compare the result with your configured bitrate and the headroom YouTube recommends. A brief speed test is only a snapshot; it may not reveal a drop that occurs later.

Compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet
If possible, connect the encoder computer directly to the router by Ethernet and run a private or unlisted test stream. A Cat6 Ethernet cable is one option for this test; Jio’s JioExtender6 guide also documents connecting a computer through the unit’s LAN port.
If Ethernet works while Wi-Fi does not, that points toward the wireless or local-network path, but does not by itself identify the cause. If available, compare JioFiber with an independent connection, such as a phone hotspot. A different result narrows the path to investigate; it is not proof that JioFiber is responsible.

4. Run JioFiber diagnostics in MyJio
- Link your JioFiber account in the MyJio app if it is not already linked.
- Open Home or Fiber (the label can vary with the app layout), then go to JioCare.
- Choose Run Diagnostics and follow the action shown for the finding.
Jio says Run Diagnostics checks connection health, router status, device configuration and Wi-Fi strength. Findings can include slow speed, low signal, router offline, configuration error, loose cable, speed drop or device overload. The tool’s result helps decide whether to investigate the router, Wi-Fi or connection; it does not establish a special fix for YouTube’s encoder-disconnected message.
Use basic router checks only when symptoms fit
Jio’s Run Diagnostics help page links the app’s findings to next steps. Jio’s JioFiber User Guide also advises checking that the fiber cable is firmly connected and not bent. If you restart the Home Gateway, allow three to five minutes for its indicator to stabilize.
If the router light is green but there is no connectivity, Jio’s guide suggests checking the plan, testing without external routers or switches, and temporarily disconnecting a VPN. Use those checks only if they match your setup and symptoms; do not remove equipment needed for the network. Jio recommends restarting the router monthly as maintenance, but a restart is not a guaranteed fix for recurring stream drops.

5. Decide who to contact based on the comparisons
- Several devices or services lose internet, or MyJio reports a router, line or outage issue: Contact Jio support. Share the diagnostic result, the time of the drop and whether the router or other devices were affected.
- The encoder’s local preview or recording also fails: Investigate the encoder, computer load and stream configuration before treating this as a JioFiber issue.
- Other internet services work but YouTube ingestion fails across more than one connection: Recheck the encoder settings and YouTube’s stream health diagnostics. The reviewed official guidance does not establish a JioFiber-specific block or outage as the cause.
- YouTube’s troubleshooting steps do not resolve the stream: Use YouTube’s option to report the issue and provide the relevant timestamp and encoder details.
The reviewed official help pages do not document one JioFiber-specific fix for this exact message. They also do not establish that JioFiber is broadly blocking YouTube Live ingestion. The cause in a particular case depends on the encoder state, network comparisons and MyJio findings.
