Several Yellow Brick Games employees reportedly said in public posts that they had been laid off, according to reports published October 6–7, 2026. Those reports do not establish how many people were affected or why, and they did not include a studio statement explaining either point.
What has been reported about the layoffs?
A Gamer24H report published October 6 said multiple employees had posted that they were laid off. It named five people and their roles: Senior Environment and Hard Surface Artist Derian McCrea, Graphics Engineer Adam Clapsaddle, Software Programmer Rebecca Bélanger, QA Lead Jessica Chapados Arseneault, and Senior Level Designer Julien Tonsuso. A separate Techtroduce report published October 7 also named Chapados Arseneault and Clapsaddle. These are secondary reports; the available reporting does not establish that the named people are a complete list of those affected. Gamer24H Techtroduce

Yellow Brick Games is an independent studio founded in 2020 and headquartered in Quebec City, Canada. Its press room describes a hybrid team across Quebec City, Montreal and remote locations. The studio’s April 2, 2024 announcement said it had 68 developers at that time; that is historical context, not a current headcount or a basis for estimating how many people lost their jobs. The press room also displays “over 60 employees,” but does not specify when that description applied. Yellow Brick Games press room April 2, 2024 announcement
