Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallFor continuous YouTube playback of prerecorded videos, StreamNeo is the cloud option to consider first: upload a video or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live without keeping a computer on. Its first day is free with no card; a monthly slot costs $9.99 per month. For a free, do-it-yourself local encoder, OBS Studio is the clearest alternative to XSplit Broadcaster. OBS and XSplit rely on your own computer, power, internet connection, and monitoring; neither software alone guarantees unattended 24/7 uptime.
Which XSplit alternative fits a 24/7 YouTube stream?
The right choice depends first on what you want to broadcast. A prerecorded playlist can run through a cloud playout service such as StreamNeo. A live camera or screen capture needs a local encoder such as OBS Studio or XSplit Broadcaster. OBS is free and open source; XSplit offers a free tier limited to 720p and paid plans. A local setup can avoid a software subscription, but you remain responsible for keeping the machine, electricity, upload connection, and stream monitoring available.

| Option | Best fit | Cost evidence | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Uploaded prerecorded videos that need continuous YouTube playout | First day free with no card; $0.99 per day, $2.99 per week, $9.99 per month, $49.99 for 6 months, or $89.99 a year | Plays uploaded video to YouTube; it is not a live camera encoder. A slot includes 10 GB storage, pooled across active slots. |
| OBS Studio | Local camera, screen, or media encoding when you can keep the computer running | Free and open source, according to the OBS Project | You supply the computer, electricity, upload bandwidth, and monitoring; no 24/7 uptime is provided by the software itself. |
| XSplit Broadcaster | Windows-based production where its scene, output, and production features suit your workflow | Free up to 720p without a watermark; the vendor lists $14.99/month, $59.99/year, or $119.99 once for paid options | The free tier is resolution-limited; the listed prices are in USD and do not establish final India checkout price or taxes. |
StreamNeo is #1 for prerecorded 24/7 YouTube playout because it runs from the cloud, accepts uploaded video up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and gives each account a first day free. See StreamNeo for current plan information. The XSplit figures above are those on its current pricing page, accessed in 2026; check XSplit’s pricing page for changes before subscribing.
How do OBS and XSplit compare for local streaming?
OBS Studio: free local encoding
OBS Studio is a free, open-source encoder for camera, screen, and media sources. It is a practical XSplit alternative if you want local production controls and are comfortable configuring a streaming workflow yourself. Its price does not include a computer, power backup, broadband, or someone to watch for failures.

XSplit Broadcaster: free tier and paid plans
XSplit Broadcaster’s official pricing page lists a free plan at $0 for streaming up to 720p without a watermark. It lists paid plans at $14.99 per month, $59.99 per year, and $119.99 lifetime. Premium includes simultaneous broadcasting and commercial use, according to the pricing page. The page displays USD; it does not confirm India checkout totals or taxes, so check the vendor’s current terms. XSplit lists Windows 10 64-bit, 8 GB RAM, a second-generation Intel Core i5 or equivalent, and DirectX 10.1-capable GeForce/Radeon-class graphics as minimum requirements. These are vendor-published requirements, not independent performance tests. See XSplit Broadcaster’s product page.
Choosing between a local encoder and cloud playout
Use OBS or XSplit when you need a live camera or screen source, or want to operate a local production setup. For uploaded prerecorded videos that should play continuously, cloud playout removes the requirement to leave a home computer running. Compare the source type, recurring cost, local computer and internet dependence, production controls, recovery and monitoring, and YouTube archive behavior. No verified India electricity or broadband prices establish a total monthly cost for running a local encoder.

Configure a YouTube encoder for a stable stream
These settings apply to an encoder workflow such as OBS or XSplit. YouTube says to choose quality for a reliable upload connection and run a speed test. Its bitrate recommendations are encoder settings, not a guarantee that an ISP connection will remain stable.
- Confirm your upload capacity. Test the connection you will actually use for streaming. Leave headroom beyond the video bitrate for audio, network variation, and other household traffic; do not treat a speed-test result as proof of uninterrupted service.
- Choose codec, resolution, and frame rate together. YouTube publishes bitrate guidance by codec, resolution, and frame rate, and lists H.264, H.265, and AV1 among its encoder video codecs. For H.264, YouTube recommends 5 Mbps for 1080p30 and 6 Mbps for 720p60. Use the full current table at YouTube’s encoder settings guide for other combinations.
- Prefer RTMPS when supported. YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure extension of RTMP. Check your encoder’s available server/connection options and select the secure ingest endpoint where supported.
- Copy YouTube’s server URL and stream key into the encoder. In YouTube’s encoder workflow, create or select the live stream, then enter the supplied server URL and stream key in the encoder’s streaming settings. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup steps for the current interface. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it; reset it in YouTube if exposed.
- Test before relying on a long run. Start a private or unlisted test, inspect the YouTube preview and encoder status, and check for dropped frames or unstable upload before switching to the intended broadcast.
XSplit’s product page gives 500 kbps as minimum upload for its lowest settings and recommends 5 Mbps for HD. Those are the vendor’s figures, not a recommendation for a resilient 24/7 connection. Use YouTube’s bitrate guidance for your chosen output and validate the actual connection.

What 24/7 operators should know about archives, DVR, and rights
Do not promise a complete archive of a continuous stream
YouTube automatically archives streams under 12 hours. For longer streams, capture is not guaranteed: YouTube warns, “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” DVR rewind may also be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. If a complete replay matters, plan separate recordings or shorter broadcasts rather than assuming one uninterrupted 24/7 stream will produce a full VOD. See YouTube’s archive guidance and DVR guidance.
Use content you have the right to stream
A continuous stream does not change your copyright obligations. Use video, music, and other material for which you hold the necessary rights, and follow YouTube’s applicable livestream terms at YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions. Rights to a recording do not necessarily mean you have permission for every component in it, such as music or third-party footage.

Or let it run in the cloud
For prerecorded video rather than a live camera feed, StreamNeo keeps the YouTube stream running from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home. Each slot streams what you uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one price rather than quality-based tiers; StreamNeo does not re-encode the upload. It automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, and the monthly price is $9.99 per month. The same product is included on every plan; only the billing length changes. In India, UPI and cards are accepted; card checkout is available worldwide. For five or more slots, contact StreamNeo support. See the copyright safety checklist before streaming uploaded material. Start your free first day on StreamNeo.

Troubleshooting a local YouTube stream
- YouTube reports unstable connection or dropped frames: reduce output bitrate or resolution, stop other upload-heavy activity, and test the connection again. Confirm the bitrate matches YouTube’s guidance for the selected codec and frame rate.
- The encoder will not connect: verify the server URL and stream key against the selected YouTube stream, choose RTMPS if the encoder supports it, and check that the stream is live/ready in YouTube Studio.
- The stream ends when you leave or shut down: a local encoder depends on the computer and its power and internet connection. Configure a local machine and connection to remain available, or use cloud playout for uploaded prerecorded video.
- The 24/7 broadcast has no full replay or rewind: this is an expected limitation for streams over 12 hours; YouTube does not guarantee capture and may limit or disable DVR rewind for them.
- XSplit is unavailable or performs poorly on the PC: check its vendor-published minimum system requirements and use OBS only if your local computer can handle the chosen sources and encoding workload. The listed minimum requirements are not a promise of 24/7 performance.
