If GoFullPage stays on “capturing page,” first close pop-ups and information bars, scroll through the page to load the content you need, and try again. If it still hangs, check whether the page is a PDF or uses custom scrolling, whether GoFullPage was denied permission to capture iframe content, and whether the page is too large. These checks address known trouble cases, but GoFullPage does not identify one universal cause for a capture hang.
Try the page-preparation steps first
- Close information bars and pop-ups. Dismiss banners or overlays that cover the page.
- Scroll through the page. Move down the target page so content that loads as you scroll has a chance to appear.
- Wait for the content you need. Once it has loaded, start GoFullPage again.

Check for page types GoFullPage may not capture properly
PDF documents
GoFullPage says it cannot access and scroll PDF documents. If the target is a PDF, the extension may not be able to capture it as a scrolling webpage. GoFullPage FAQ
Pages with custom scrolling
Some sites use their own JavaScript to control scrolling. GoFullPage says these pages may not capture properly. This is a known limitation, not proof that custom scrolling is the cause of a particular hang. GoFullPage FAQ

Check iframe permission if the page has embedded content
When a page contains iframe content, GoFullPage may request additional permission to scroll and capture it. If you denied that request, the extension says it will not run on that page, though it should still work on pages without iframes. Browser permission prompts deserve attention: Google explains that permission to access data on all websites can allow an extension to read, request, or modify data on those pages. GoFullPage describes its own permissions as requested for specific functions, but that does not make a broad browser warning meaningless. Separate a capture hang from a download problem
Downloads permission is needed to save screenshot files, saved history items, or edited screenshots. Without it, GoFullPage says you can still copy an image to the clipboard. GoFullPage warns that very large captures, especially on high-pixel-density displays, can be split into multiple images. Its FAQ says a capture may not complete if it would produce 10 or more images. That is the extension maker’s stated threshold, not an independently established browser limit. If a capture does complete in parts, GoFullPage says those images can be viewed and downloaded. If the problem is a Premium login hang
GoFullPage’s login help mentions checking your computer’s system clock if you see an error or a hanging loading page while logging in. That advice is for Premium login; it does not establish clock skew as a cause of the screenshot capture itself getting stuck. GoFullPage FAQ

Is GoFullPage currently available?
GoFullPage’s developer said in a September 14, 2026 update that the official extension had been restored to the Chrome Web Store and was available for Firefox, Chrome, and Edge at that time. Earlier August 2026 posts described a temporary Chrome Web Store removal; those posts reflect the earlier disruption.
