XREAL’s 1 Pro+ launches on October 15, 2026, at a US launch price of $599. It is an upgraded One Pro rather than a new platform: peak brightness rises from 700 to 1,200 nits, AI-assisted HDR is added, 2D-to-3D conversion reaches 60 frames per second instead of 30, and a redesigned nose pad aims to keep the glasses steadier. Resolution, field of view, refresh-rate ceiling and the X1 spatial-computing foundation remain unchanged.

Brighter image and new picture modes
The headline hardware change is peak brightness: 1,200 nits for the 1 Pro+ versus 700 nits on the One Pro. Peak brightness is not the same as a guaranteed full-screen level, but the increase should give the newer glasses more headroom in bright rooms and high-dynamic-range highlights.

The 1 Pro+ also adds AI HDR processing and three named picture presets—Standard, Movie and Reading. The One Pro launched without AI HDR. These are processing and viewing changes, not a resolution upgrade; both models still use Sony 0.55-inch micro-OLED panels at 1,920 × 1,080 per eye.
Smoother 2D-to-3D conversion
XREAL says the 1 Pro+ can convert photos, videos, livestreams and games from 2D into spatial 3D at up to 60fps directly on the glasses, without extra software or accessories. The One Pro supports the same general conversion concept but tops out at 30fps. A higher conversion frame rate can make motion look smoother, although it does not turn a native 3D capture into higher-resolution 3D.

A redesigned nose pad
The physical fit is another meaningful change. XREAL redesigned the ergonomic nose pad to improve wearing stability and comfort and to make the field of view more consistent from one fitting to the next. That matters because a display can appear to shift or crop differently when the glasses slide during use.
What did not change
The 1 Pro+ keeps the One Pro’s core display and spatial specifications: Sony 0.55-inch micro-OLED panels, 1,920 × 1,080 pixels per eye, up to 120Hz, a 57-degree field of view and the XREAL X1 spatial-computing chip. Both glasses provide native 3DoF tracking. Consequently, the refresh is evolutionary rather than a jump to a wider view, higher resolution or faster refresh ceiling.

Is the XREAL 1 Pro+ standalone?
No. The glasses are tethered displays, not independent computers. They require a USB-C connection with DisplayPort Alt Mode to a compatible source device. XREAL’s One-series compatibility list includes USB-C video-output devices such as iPhone, Android phones, Steam Deck, Windows PCs and MacBooks; game-console compatibility depends on the console and the required video adapter or dock.

Tracking modes and optional accessories
3DoF, Follow and Anchor
The 1 Pro+ advertises 3DoF Follow and Anchor modes. These modes let the virtual screen follow head rotation or remain positioned relative to the surrounding space within the glasses’ supported tracking model.
6DoF with XREAL Eye
XREAL lists 6DoF spatial anchoring when the detachable XREAL Eye camera is used. Eye is sold separately and is rated at 12MP for still photos and up to 1080p at 60fps for video. It is an optional accessory, so the base glasses should not be treated as a complete 6DoF system without it.

Should One Pro owners upgrade?
The upgrade makes the most sense when you need:
- Higher peak brightness for bright environments or more pronounced HDR highlights.
- AI HDR and selectable Standard, Movie and Reading picture modes.
- Smoother 2D-to-3D conversion at up to 60fps.
- A more stable, comfortable fit from the redesigned nose pad.
Staying with the One Pro is reasonable when:
- You are satisfied with its 700-nit peak brightness and existing picture processing.
- Your priority is resolution, field of view, refresh rate or spatial-chip capability; those specifications are unchanged.
- You already have a comfortable fit and do not need the faster conversion mode.
At $599 in the United States at launch, the 1 Pro+ charges for brighter optics, newer processing and a fit revision while retaining the One Pro’s 1,920 × 1,080-per-eye panels, 57-degree view, 120Hz ceiling and X1/3DoF foundation. The decision is therefore about those targeted improvements, not a generational change to the underlying display platform.
